      <verse number='1'>When <strongs number="669">Ephraim</strongs><strongs number="1696">spoke</strongs><strongs number="7578">trembling</strongs>, <strongs number="1931">he</strongs><strongs number="5375">exalted</strongs>himself in <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>; but when he <strongs number="816">offended</strongs>in <strongs number="1168">Baal</strongs>, he <strongs number="4191">died</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>And <strongs number="6258">now</strongs>they <strongs number="2398">sin</strongs>more and <strongs number="3254">more</strongs>, and have <strongs number="6213">made</strongs>them molten <strongs number="4541">images</strongs>of their <strongs number="4480 3701">silver</strongs>, <em> and </em><strongs number="6091">idols</strongs>according to their own <strongs number="8394">understanding</strongs>, <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>of it the <strongs number="4639">work</strongs>of the <strongs number="2796">craftsmen</strongs>: <strongs number="1992">they</strongs><strongs number="559">say</strongs>of them, Let the <strongs number="120">men</strongs>that <strongs number="2076">sacrifice</strongs><strongs number="5401">kiss</strongs>the <strongs number="5695">calves</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='10'>I will <strongs number="165">be</strongs>thy <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>: <strongs number="645">where</strongs><em> is </em><em> any </em><em> other </em>that may <strongs number="3467">save</strongs>thee in <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>thy <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>? and thy <strongs number="8199">judges</strongs>of <strongs number="834">whom</strongs>thou <strongs number="559">saidst</strongs>, <strongs number="5414">Give</strongs>me a <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>and <strongs number="8269">princes</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='11'>I <strongs number="5414">gave</strongs>thee a <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>in mine <strongs number="639">anger</strongs>, and took <em> him </em><strongs number="3947">away</strongs>in my <strongs number="5678">wrath</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>The <strongs number="5771">iniquity</strongs>of <strongs number="669">Ephraim</strongs><em> is </em>bound <strongs number="6887">up</strongs>; his <strongs number="2403">sin</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="6845">hid</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>The <strongs number="2256">sorrows</strongs>of a travailing <strongs number="3205">woman</strongs>shall <strongs number="935">come</strongs>upon him: <strongs number="1931">he</strongs><em> is </em>an <strongs number="3808 2450">unwise</strongs><strongs number="1121">son</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>he should <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5975">stay</strongs><strongs number="6256">long</strongs>in <em> the </em><em> place </em><em> of </em>the breaking <strongs number="4866">forth</strongs>of <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='16'><strongs number="8111">Samaria</strongs>shall become <strongs number="816">desolate</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>she hath <strongs number="4784">rebelled</strongs>against her <strongs number="430">God</strongs>: they shall <strongs number="5307">fall</strongs>by the <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>: their <strongs number="5768">infants</strongs>shall be dashed in <strongs number="7376">pieces</strongs>, and their women with <strongs number="2030">child</strongs>shall be ripped <strongs number="1234">up</strongs>. </verse>
