Yet I am the LORDthy Godfrom the landof Egypt, and thou shalt knownogodbutme: for there is nosaviorbesideme. Idid knowthee in the wilderness, in the landof great drought. According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heartwas exalted; thereforehave they forgottenme. Therefore I will beunto them asa lion: as a leopardbythe waywill I observe them : I will meetthem as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps , and will rendthe caulof their heart, and therewill I devourthem like a lion: the wildbeastshall tearthem. O Israel, thou hast destroyedthyself; butin me is thine help. I will bethy king: where is any other that may savethee in allthy cities? and thy judgesof whomthou saidst, Giveme a kingand princes? I gavethee a kingin mine anger, and took him awayin my wrath. The iniquityof Ephraim is bound up; his sin is hid. The sorrowsof a travailing womanshall comeupon him: he is an unwiseson; forhe should notstaylongin the place of the breaking forthof children. I will ransomthem from the powerof the grave; I will redeemthem from death: O death, I will bethy plagues; O grave, I will bethy destruction: repentanceshall be hidfrom mine eyes. Thoughhebe fruitfulamong his brethren, an east windshall come, the windof the LORDshall come upfrom the wilderness, and his springshall become dry, and his fountainshall be dried up: heshall spoilthe treasureof allpleasantvessels. Samariashall become desolate; forshe hath rebelledagainst her God: they shall fallby the sword: their infantsshall be dashed in pieces, and their women with childshall be ripped up.
