      <verse number='1'><strongs number="3588">When</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><em> was </em>a <strongs number="5288">child</strongs>, then I <strongs number="157">loved</strongs>him, and <strongs number="7121">called</strongs>my <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>out of <strongs number="4480 4714">Egypt</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'><em> As </em>they <strongs number="7121">called</strongs>them, <strongs number="3651">so</strongs>they <strongs number="1980">went</strongs><strongs number="4480 6440">from</strongs>them: they <strongs number="2076">sacrificed</strongs>unto <strongs number="1168">Baalim</strongs>, and burned <strongs number="6999">incense</strongs>to graven <strongs number="6456">images</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'><strongs number="595">I</strongs>taught Ephraim also to <strongs number="8637 669">go</strongs>, <strongs number="3947">taking</strongs>them <strongs number="5921">by</strongs>their <strongs number="2220">arms</strongs>; but they <strongs number="3045">knew</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>I <strongs number="7495">healed</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>I <strongs number="4900">drew</strongs>them with <strongs number="2256">cords</strongs>of a <strongs number="120">man</strongs>, with <strongs number="5688">bands</strongs>of <strongs number="160">love</strongs>: and I <strongs number="1961">was</strongs>to them as they that take <strongs number="7311">off</strongs>the <strongs number="5923">yoke</strongs><strongs number="5921">on</strongs>their <strongs number="3895">jaws</strongs>, and I <strongs number="5186">laid</strongs><strongs number="398">meat</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>He shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="7725">return</strongs><strongs number="413">into</strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>, but the <strongs number="804">Assyrian</strongs>shall be his <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>they <strongs number="3985">refused</strongs>to <strongs number="7725">return</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>And the <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>shall <strongs number="2342">abide</strongs>on his <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>, and shall <strongs number="3615">consume</strongs>his <strongs number="905">branches</strongs>, and <strongs number="398">devour</strongs><em> them </em>, because of their own <strongs number="4480 4156">counsels</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>And my <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>are <strongs number="8511">bent</strongs>to <strongs number="4878">backsliding</strongs>from me: though they <strongs number="7121">called</strongs>them <strongs number="413">to</strongs>the most <strongs number="5920">High</strongs>, none at <strongs number="3808 3162">all</strongs>would <strongs number="7311">exalt</strongs><em> him </em>. </verse>
      <verse number='8'><strongs number="349">How</strongs>shall I give thee <strongs number="5414">up</strongs>, <strongs number="669">Ephraim</strongs>? <em> how </em>shall I <strongs number="4042">deliver</strongs>thee, <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>? <strongs number="349">how</strongs>shall I <strongs number="5414">make</strongs>thee as <strongs number="126">Admah</strongs>? <em> how </em>shall I <strongs number="7760">set</strongs>thee as <strongs number="6636">Zeboim</strongs>? mine <strongs number="3820">heart</strongs>is <strongs number="2015">turned</strongs><strongs number="5921">within</strongs>me, my <strongs number="5150">repentings</strongs>are <strongs number="3648">kindled</strongs><strongs number="3162">together</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>I will <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="6213">execute</strongs>the <strongs number="2740">fierceness</strongs>of mine <strongs number="639">anger</strongs>, I will <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="7725">return</strongs>to <strongs number="7843">destroy</strongs><strongs number="669">Ephraim</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="595">I</strongs><em> am </em><strongs number="410">God</strongs>, and <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="376">man</strongs>; the Holy <strongs number="6918">One</strongs>in the <strongs number="7130">midst</strongs>of thee: and I will <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="935">enter</strongs>into the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>They shall <strongs number="1980">walk</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>: he shall <strongs number="7580">roar</strongs>like a <strongs number="738">lion</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">when</strongs><strongs number="1931">he</strongs>shall <strongs number="7580">roar</strongs>, then the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>shall <strongs number="2729">tremble</strongs>from the <strongs number="4480 3220">west</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>They shall <strongs number="2729">tremble</strongs>as a <strongs number="6833">bird</strongs>out of <strongs number="4480 4714">Egypt</strongs>, and as a <strongs number="3123">dove</strongs>out of the <strongs number="4480 776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs>: and I will <strongs number="3427">place</strongs>them <strongs number="5921">in</strongs>their <strongs number="1004">houses</strongs>, <strongs number="5002">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'><strongs number="669">Ephraim</strongs>compasseth me <strongs number="5437">about</strongs>with <strongs number="3585">lies</strongs>, and the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>with <strongs number="4820">deceit</strongs>: but <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="5750">yet</strongs><strongs number="7300">ruleth</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs><strongs number="410">God</strongs>, and is <strongs number="539">faithful</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>the <strongs number="6918">saints</strongs>. </verse>
