      <verse number='1'>Now <strongs number="6583">Pashur</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="564">Immer</strongs>the <strongs number="3548">priest</strongs>, <strongs number="1931">who</strongs><em> was </em>also <strongs number="5057">chief</strongs><strongs number="6496">governor</strongs>in the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="8085">heard</strongs>that <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3414">Jeremiah</strongs><strongs number="5012">prophesied</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="428">these</strongs><strongs number="1697">things</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>Then <strongs number="6583">Pashur</strongs><strongs number="5221">smote</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3414">Jeremiah</strongs>the <strongs number="5030">prophet</strongs>, and <strongs number="5414">put</strongs>him <strongs number="5921">in</strongs>the <strongs number="4115">stocks</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> were </em>in the <strongs number="5945">high</strongs><strongs number="8179">gate</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs><em> was </em>by the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>on the <strongs number="4480 4283">morrow</strongs>, that <strongs number="6583">Pashur</strongs>brought <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3414">Jeremiah</strongs>out <strongs number="4480">of</strongs>the <strongs number="4115">stocks</strongs>. Then <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="3414">Jeremiah</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, The <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>hath <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="7121">called</strongs>thy <strongs number="8034">name</strongs><strongs number="6583">Pashur</strongs>, <strongs number="3588 518">but</strongs><strongs number="4036">Magor</strongs>-missabib. </verse>
      <verse number='4'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs><strongs number="3541">thus</strongs><strongs number="559">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, I will <strongs number="5414">make</strongs>thee a <strongs number="4032">terror</strongs>to thyself, and to <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>thy <strongs number="157">friends</strongs>: and they shall <strongs number="5307">fall</strongs>by the <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>of their <strongs number="341">enemies</strongs>, and thine <strongs number="5869">eyes</strongs>shall <strongs number="7200">behold</strongs><em> it </em>: and I will <strongs number="5414">give</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>into the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>, and he shall carry them <strongs number="1540">captive</strongs>into <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>, and shall <strongs number="5221">slay</strongs>them with the <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>Moreover I will <strongs number="5414">deliver</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="2633">strength</strongs>of <strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="3018">labors</strongs>thereof, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the precious <strongs number="3366">things</strongs>thereof, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="214">treasures</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>will I <strongs number="5414">give</strongs>into the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of their <strongs number="341">enemies</strongs>, which shall <strongs number="962">spoil</strongs>them, and <strongs number="3947">take</strongs>them, and <strongs number="935">carry</strongs>them to <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>And <strongs number="859">thou</strongs>, <strongs number="6583">Pashur</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>that <strongs number="3427">dwell</strongs>in thine <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>shall <strongs number="1980">go</strongs>into <strongs number="7628">captivity</strongs>: and thou shalt <strongs number="935">come</strongs>to <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>, and <strongs number="8033">there</strongs>thou shalt <strongs number="4191">die</strongs>, and shalt be <strongs number="6912">buried</strongs><strongs number="8033">there</strongs>, <strongs number="859">thou</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>thy <strongs number="157">friends</strongs>, to <strongs number="834">whom</strongs>thou hast <strongs number="5012">prophesied</strongs><strongs number="8267">lies</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>O <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, thou hast <strongs number="6601">deceived</strongs>me, and I was <strongs number="6601">deceived</strongs>: thou art <strongs number="2388">stronger</strongs>than I, and hast <strongs number="3201">prevailed</strongs>: I <strongs number="1961">am</strongs>in <strongs number="7814">derision</strongs><strongs number="3605 3117">daily</strongs>, every <strongs number="3605">one</strongs><strongs number="3932">mocketh</strongs>me. </verse>
      <verse number='8'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs><strongs number="4480 1767">since</strongs>I <strongs number="1696">spoke</strongs>, I cried <strongs number="2199">out</strongs>, I <strongs number="7121">cried</strongs><strongs number="2555">violence</strongs>and <strongs number="7701">spoil</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>the <strongs number="1697">word</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>was <strongs number="1961">made</strongs>a <strongs number="2781">reproach</strongs>unto me, and a <strongs number="7047">derision</strongs>, <strongs number="3605 3117">daily</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>Then I <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, I will <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>make <strongs number="2142">mention</strongs>of him, <strongs number="3808">nor</strongs><strongs number="1696">speak</strongs>any <strongs number="5750">more</strongs>in his <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>. But <em> his </em><em> word </em><strongs number="1961">was</strongs>in mine <strongs number="3820">heart</strongs>as a <strongs number="1197">burning</strongs><strongs number="784">fire</strongs>shut <strongs number="6113">up</strongs>in my <strongs number="6106">bones</strongs>, and I was <strongs number="3811">weary</strongs>with <strongs number="3557">forbearing</strongs>, and I <strongs number="3201">could</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><em> stay </em>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs>I <strongs number="8085">heard</strongs>the <strongs number="1681">defaming</strongs>of <strongs number="7227">many</strongs>, <strongs number="4032">fear</strongs>on every <strongs number="4480 5439">side</strongs>. <strongs number="5046">Report</strongs>, <em> say </em><em> they </em>, and we will <strongs number="5046">report</strongs>it. <strongs number="3605">All</strongs>my <strongs number="582 7965">familiars</strongs><strongs number="8104">watched</strongs>for my <strongs number="6761">halting</strongs>, <em> saying </em>, <strongs number="194">Peradventure</strongs>he will be <strongs number="6601">enticed</strongs>, and we shall <strongs number="3201">prevail</strongs>against him, and we shall <strongs number="3947">take</strongs>our <strongs number="5360">revenge</strongs><strongs number="4480">on</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>But the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="854">with</strongs>me as a <strongs number="1368">mighty</strongs>terrible <strongs number="6184">one</strongs>: <strongs number="5921 3651">therefore</strongs>my <strongs number="7291">persecutors</strongs>shall <strongs number="3782">stumble</strongs>, and they shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="3201">prevail</strongs>: they shall be <strongs number="3966">greatly</strongs><strongs number="954">ashamed</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>they shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="7919">prosper</strongs>: <em> their </em><strongs number="5769">everlasting</strongs><strongs number="3639">confusion</strongs>shall <strongs number="3808">never</strongs>be <strongs number="7911">forgotten</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>But, O <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>of <strongs number="6635">hosts</strongs>, that <strongs number="974">triest</strongs>the <strongs number="6662">righteous</strongs>, <em> and </em><strongs number="7200">seest</strongs>the <strongs number="3629">reins</strongs>and the <strongs number="3820">heart</strongs>, let me <strongs number="7200">see</strongs>thy <strongs number="5360">vengeance</strongs><strongs number="4480">on</strongs>them: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>thee have I <strongs number="1540">opened</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>my <strongs number="7379">cause</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'><strongs number="7891">Sing</strongs>unto the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="1984">praise</strongs>ye <strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>he hath <strongs number="5337">delivered</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="5315">soul</strongs>of the <strongs number="34">poor</strongs>from the <strongs number="4480 3027">hand</strongs>of <strongs number="7489">evildoers</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'><strongs number="779">Cursed</strongs><em> be </em>the <strongs number="3117">day</strongs><strongs number="834">wherein</strongs>I was <strongs number="3205">born</strongs>: let <strongs number="408">not</strongs>the <strongs number="3117">day</strongs><strongs number="834">wherein</strongs>my <strongs number="517">mother</strongs><strongs number="3205">bore</strongs>me <strongs number="1961">be</strongs><strongs number="1288">blessed</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'><strongs number="779">Cursed</strongs><em> be </em>the <strongs number="376">man</strongs><strongs number="834">who</strongs>brought <strongs number="1319">tidings</strongs>to <strongs number="*853"></strongs>my <strongs number="1">father</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, A <strongs number="2145">man</strongs><strongs number="1121">child</strongs>is <strongs number="3205">born</strongs>unto thee; making him very <strongs number="8055 8055">glad</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>And let <strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="376">man</strongs><strongs number="1961">be</strongs>as the <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="2015">overthrew</strongs>, and <strongs number="5162">repented</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>: and let him <strongs number="8085">hear</strongs>the <strongs number="2201">cry</strongs>in the <strongs number="1242">morning</strongs>, and the <strongs number="8643">shouting</strongs>at <strongs number="6256 6672">noontide</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='17'><strongs number="834">Because</strongs>he <strongs number="4191">slew</strongs>me <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>from the <strongs number="4480 7358">womb</strongs>; or that my <strongs number="517">mother</strongs>might have <strongs number="1961">been</strongs>my <strongs number="6913">grave</strongs>, and her <strongs number="7358">womb</strongs><em> to </em><em> be </em><strongs number="5769">always</strongs><strongs number="2030">great</strongs><em> with </em><em> me </em>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'><strongs number="4100">Wherefore</strongs>came I <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs>out of the <strongs number="4480 7358">womb</strongs>to <strongs number="7200">see</strongs><strongs number="5999">labor</strongs>and <strongs number="3015">sorrow</strongs>, that my <strongs number="3117">days</strongs>should be <strongs number="3615">consumed</strongs>with <strongs number="1322">shame</strongs>? </verse>
