      <verse number='2'>And the <strongs number="8668">victory</strongs><strongs number="1961">that</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>was <em> turned </em>into <strongs number="60">mourning</strongs>unto <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs><strongs number="8085">heard</strongs><strongs number="559">say</strongs><strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>how the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>was <strongs number="6087">grieved</strongs><strongs number="5921">for</strongs>his <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>. </verse>

And <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs>to <strongs number="1537">Gilgal</strongs>, to <strongs number="1980">go</strongs>to <strongs number="7125">meet</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, to conduct the king <strongs number="5674 *853 4428">over</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3383">Jordan</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>And <strongs number="8096">Shimei</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="1617">Gera</strongs>, a <strongs number="1145">Benjamite</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs><em> was </em>of <strongs number="4480 980">Bahurim</strongs>, <strongs number="4116">hasted</strongs>and came <strongs number="3381">down</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>to <strongs number="7125">meet</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='34'>And <strongs number="1271">Barzillai</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, <strongs number="4100">How</strongs><strongs number="3117 8141">long</strongs>have I to <strongs number="2416">live</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">that</strongs>I should go <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>unto <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>? </verse>

      <verse number='36'>Thy <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs>will go a little way <strongs number="5674 4592">over</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3383">Jordan</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>: and <strongs number="4100">why</strongs>should the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="1580">recompense</strongs>it me with <strongs number="2063">such</strongs>a <strongs number="1578">reward</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='37'>Let thy <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs>, I pray <strongs number="4994">thee</strongs>, turn back <strongs number="7725">again</strongs>, that I may <strongs number="4191">die</strongs>in mine own <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, <em> and </em><em> be </em><em> buried </em><strongs number="5973">by</strongs>the <strongs number="6913">grave</strongs>of my <strongs number="1">father</strongs>and of my <strongs number="517">mother</strongs>. But <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>thy <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs><strongs number="3643">Chimham</strongs>; let him go <strongs number="5674">over</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>my <strongs number="113">lord</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>; and <strongs number="6213">do</strongs>to him <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="834">what</strongs>shall <strongs number="5869">seem</strongs><strongs number="2896">good</strongs>unto thee. </verse>
      <verse number='38'>And the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="559">answered</strongs>, <strongs number="3643">Chimham</strongs>shall go <strongs number="5674">over</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>me, and <strongs number="589">I</strongs>will <strongs number="6213">do</strongs>to him <strongs number="*853"></strongs>that which shall <strongs number="5869">seem</strongs><strongs number="2896">good</strongs>unto thee: and <strongs number="834 3605">whatsoever</strongs>thou shalt <strongs number="977">require</strongs><strongs number="5921">of</strongs>me, <em> that </em>will I <strongs number="6213">do</strongs>for thee. </verse>
      <verse number='39'>And <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>went <strongs number="5674">over</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3383">Jordan</strongs>. And when the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>was come <strongs number="5674">over</strongs>, the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="5401">kissed</strongs><strongs number="1271">Barzillai</strongs>, and <strongs number="1288">blessed</strongs>him; and he <strongs number="7725">returned</strongs>unto his own <strongs number="4725">place</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='40'>Then the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>went <strongs number="5674">on</strongs>to <strongs number="1537">Gilgal</strongs>, and <strongs number="3643">Chimham</strongs>went <strongs number="5674">on</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>him: and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="5674">conducted</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, and <strongs number="1571">also</strongs><strongs number="2677">half</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='41'>And, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, <strongs number="4069">Why</strongs>have our <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs>the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>stolen thee <strongs number="1589">away</strongs>, and have <strongs number="5674">brought</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, and his <strongs number="1004">household</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>'s <strongs number="376">men</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>him, over <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3383">Jordan</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='42'>And <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="6030 5921">answered</strongs>the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">Because</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><em> is </em>near of <strongs number="7138">kin</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>us: <strongs number="4100 2088">wherefore</strongs>then be ye <strongs number="2734">angry</strongs><strongs number="5921">for</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="1697">matter</strongs>? have we eaten at <strongs number="398 398">all</strongs><strongs number="4480">of</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>'s <em> cost </em>? <strongs number="518">or</strongs>hath he given us any <strongs number="5379 5375">gift</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='43'>And the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="6030">answered</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, We have <strongs number="6235">ten</strongs><strongs number="3027">parts</strongs>in the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, and <strongs number="589">we</strongs>have <strongs number="1571">also</strongs>more <em> right </em>in <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="4480">than</strongs>ye: <strongs number="4069">why</strongs>then did ye <strongs number="7043">despise</strongs>us, that our <strongs number="1697">advice</strongs>should <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="1961">be</strongs><strongs number="7223">first</strongs>had in bringing <strongs number="7725">back</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>our <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>? And the <strongs number="1697">words</strongs>of the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>were <strongs number="7185">fiercer</strongs>than the <strongs number="4480 1697">words</strongs>of the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
