      <verse number='2'>And it was <strongs number="559">told</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3405">Jericho</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, there <strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs>in <strongs number="2008">hither</strongs><strongs number="3915">tonight</strongs>of the <strongs number="4480 1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>to search <strongs number="2658">out</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="776">country</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>And the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3405">Jericho</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="7343">Rahab</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, Bring <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs>the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>that are <strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>thee, <strongs number="834">which</strongs>are <strongs number="935">entered</strongs>into thine <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>they be <strongs number="935">come</strongs>to search <strongs number="2658">out</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="776">country</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='5'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs><em> about </em><em> the </em><em> time </em>of <strongs number="5462">shutting</strongs>of the <strongs number="8179">gate</strongs>, when it was <strongs number="2822">dark</strongs>, that the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>went <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>: <strongs number="575">whither</strongs>the <strongs number="376">men</strongs><strongs number="1980">went</strongs>I <strongs number="3045">know</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>: <strongs number="7291">pursue</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs>them <strongs number="4118">quickly</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>ye shall <strongs number="5381">overtake</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>But <strongs number="1931">she</strongs>had brought them <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>to the <strongs number="1406">roof</strongs>of the house, and <strongs number="2934">hid</strongs>them with the <strongs number="6086">stalks</strongs>of <strongs number="6593">flax</strongs>, which she had laid in <strongs number="6186">order</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>the <strongs number="1406">roof</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>And the <strongs number="376">men</strongs><strongs number="7291">pursued</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs>them the <strongs number="1870">way</strongs>to <strongs number="3383">Jordan</strongs><strongs number="5921">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="4569">fords</strongs>: and as soon <strongs number="310 834">as</strongs>they which <strongs number="7291">pursued</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs>them were gone <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>, they <strongs number="5462">shut</strongs>the <strongs number="8179">gate</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='12'><strongs number="6258">Now</strongs>therefore, I <strongs number="4994">pray</strongs>you, <strongs number="7650">swear</strongs>unto me by the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">since</strongs>I have showed you <strongs number="6213 5973 2617">kindness</strongs>, that <strongs number="859">ye</strongs>will <strongs number="1571">also</strongs><strongs number="6213">show</strongs><strongs number="2617">kindness</strongs><strongs number="5973">unto</strongs>my <strongs number="1">father</strongs>'s <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>, and <strongs number="5414">give</strongs>me a <strongs number="571">true</strongs><strongs number="226">token</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='13'>And <em> that </em>ye will save <strongs number="2421">alive</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>my <strongs number="1">father</strongs>, and my <strongs number="517">mother</strongs>, and my <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs>, and my <strongs number="269">sisters</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>they have, and <strongs number="5337">deliver</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>our <strongs number="5315">lives</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 4194">death</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'>And the <strongs number="376">men</strongs><strongs number="559">answered</strongs>her, Our <strongs number="5315">life</strongs><strongs number="8478">for</strongs>yours, <strongs number="518">if</strongs>ye <strongs number="5046">utter</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs>our <strongs number="1697">business</strongs>. And it shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>, when the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>hath <strongs number="5414">given</strongs>us <strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>, that we will <strongs number="6213">deal</strongs><strongs number="2617">kindly</strongs>and <strongs number="571">truly</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>thee. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>Then she let them <strongs number="3381">down</strongs>by a <strongs number="2256">cord</strongs><strongs number="1157">through</strongs>the <strongs number="2474">window</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>her <strongs number="1004">house</strongs><em> was </em>upon the <strongs number="2346">town</strongs><strongs number="7023">wall</strongs>, and <strongs number="1931">she</strongs><strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs>upon the <strongs number="2346">wall</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>And she <strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto them, <strongs number="1980">Get</strongs>you to the <strongs number="2022">mountain</strongs>, <strongs number="6435">lest</strongs>the <strongs number="7291">pursuers</strongs><strongs number="6293">meet</strongs>you; and hide <strongs number="2247">yourselves</strongs><strongs number="8033">there</strongs><strongs number="7969">three</strongs><strongs number="3117">days</strongs>, <strongs number="5704">until</strongs>the <strongs number="7291">pursuers</strongs>be <strongs number="7725">returned</strongs>: and <strongs number="310">afterward</strongs>may ye <strongs number="1980">go</strongs>your <strongs number="1870">way</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='18'><strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, <em> when </em><strongs number="587">we</strongs><strongs number="935">come</strongs>into the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>, thou shalt <strongs number="7194">bind</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="8615">line</strongs>of <strongs number="8144">scarlet</strongs><strongs number="2339">thread</strongs>in the <strongs number="2474">window</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>thou didst let us <strongs number="3381">down</strongs>by: and thou shalt <strongs number="622">bring</strongs>thy <strongs number="1">father</strongs>, and thy <strongs number="517">mother</strongs>, and thy <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>thy <strongs number="1">father</strongs>'s <strongs number="1004">household</strongs>, <strongs number="1004">home</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>thee. </verse>
      <verse number='19'>And it shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>, <em> that </em><strongs number="3605 834">whosoever</strongs>shall go <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>of the <strongs number="4480 1817">doors</strongs>of thy <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>into the <strongs number="2351">street</strongs>, his <strongs number="1818">blood</strongs><em> shall </em><em> be </em>upon his <strongs number="7218">head</strongs>, and <strongs number="587">we</strongs><em> will </em><em> be </em><strongs number="5355">guiltless</strongs>: and <strongs number="3605 834">whosoever</strongs>shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>thee in the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>, his <strongs number="1818">blood</strongs><em> shall </em><em> be </em>on our <strongs number="7218">head</strongs>, <strongs number="518">if</strongs><em> any </em><strongs number="3027">hand</strongs><strongs number="1961">be</strongs>upon him. </verse>

      <verse number='21'>And she <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, According unto your <strongs number="1697">words</strongs>, <strongs number="3651">so</strongs><em> be </em><strongs number="1931">it</strongs>. And she sent them <strongs number="7971">away</strongs>, and they <strongs number="1980">departed</strongs>: and she <strongs number="7194">bound</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="8144">scarlet</strongs><strongs number="8615">line</strongs>in the <strongs number="2474">window</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='22'>And they <strongs number="1980">went</strongs>, and <strongs number="935">came</strongs>unto the <strongs number="2022">mountain</strongs>, and <strongs number="3427">abode</strongs><strongs number="8033">there</strongs><strongs number="7969">three</strongs><strongs number="3117">days</strongs>, <strongs number="5704">until</strongs>the <strongs number="7291">pursuers</strongs>were <strongs number="7725">returned</strongs>: and the <strongs number="7291">pursuers</strongs><strongs number="1245">sought</strongs><em> them </em>throughout <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="1870">way</strongs>, but <strongs number="4672">found</strongs><em> them </em><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>. </verse>
