      <verse number='2'><strongs number="7971">Send</strongs>thou <strongs number="376">men</strongs>, that they may <strongs number="8446">search</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="3667">Canaan</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs><strongs number="589">I</strongs><strongs number="5414">give</strongs>unto the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>: of every <strongs number="4294">tribe</strongs>of their <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>shall ye <strongs number="7971">send</strongs><strongs number="259">a</strongs><strongs number="376">man</strongs>, every <strongs number="3605">one</strongs>a <strongs number="5387">ruler</strongs>among them. </verse>

      <verse number='17'>And <strongs number="4872">Moses</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs>them to spy <strongs number="8446">out</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="3667">Canaan</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>them, Get you <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><em> way </em><strongs number="5045">southward</strongs>, and go <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="854">into</strongs>the <strongs number="2022">mountain</strongs>: </verse>

      <verse number='20'>And <strongs number="4100">what</strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs><em> is </em>, whether <strongs number="1931">it</strongs><em> be </em><strongs number="8082">fat</strongs><strongs number="518">or</strongs><strongs number="7330">lean</strongs>, whether there <strongs number="3426">be</strongs><strongs number="6086">wood</strongs>therein, <strongs number="518">or</strongs><strongs number="369">not</strongs>. And be ye of good <strongs number="2388">courage</strongs>, and <strongs number="3947">bring</strongs>of the <strongs number="4480 6529">fruit</strongs>of the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>.       <verse number='22'>And they <strongs number="5927">ascended</strongs>by the <strongs number="5045">south</strongs>, and <strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="5704">unto</strongs><strongs number="2275">Hebron</strongs>; <strongs number="8033">where</strongs><strongs number="289">Ahiman</strongs>, <strongs number="8344">Sheshai</strongs>, and <strongs number="8526">Talmai</strongs>, the <strongs number="3211">children</strongs>of <strongs number="6061">Anak</strongs>, <em> were </em>. (Now <strongs number="2275">Hebron</strongs>was <strongs number="1129">built</strongs><strongs number="7651">seven</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs><strongs number="6814">Zoan</strongs>in <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>.) </verse>
      <verse number='23'>And they <strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="5704">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="5158">brook</strongs>of <strongs number="812">Eshcol</strongs>, and cut <strongs number="3772">down</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 8033">thence</strongs>a <strongs number="2156">branch</strongs>with <strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="811">cluster</strongs>of <strongs number="6025">grapes</strongs>, and they <strongs number="5375">bore</strongs>it between <strongs number="8147">two</strongs>upon a <strongs number="4132">staff</strongs>; and <em> they </em><em> brought </em><strongs number="4480">of</strongs>the <strongs number="7416">pomegranates</strongs>, and <strongs number="4480">of</strongs>the <strongs number="8384">figs</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='24'>The <strongs number="4725">place</strongs>was <strongs number="7121">called</strongs>the <strongs number="5158">brook</strongs><strongs number="812">Eshcol</strongs>, <strongs number="5921 182">because</strongs>of the cluster of <strongs number="811">grapes</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>cut <strongs number="3772">down</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 8033">thence</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='25'>And they <strongs number="7725">returned</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 8446">searching</strongs>of the <strongs number="776">land</strongs><strongs number="4480 7093">after</strongs><strongs number="705">forty</strongs><strongs number="3117">days</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='26'>And they <strongs number="1980">went</strongs>and <strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="4872">Moses</strongs>, and <strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="175">Aaron</strongs>, and <strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5712">congregation</strongs>of the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="4057">wilderness</strongs>of <strongs number="6290">Paran</strongs>, to <strongs number="6946">Kadesh</strongs>; and brought <strongs number="7725">back</strongs><strongs number="1697">word</strongs>unto them, and unto <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5712">congregation</strongs>, and <strongs number="7200">showed</strongs>them <strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="6529">fruit</strongs>of the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='27'>And they <strongs number="5608">told</strongs>him, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, We <strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs><strongs number="834">whither</strongs>thou <strongs number="7971">sentest</strongs>us, and <strongs number="1571">surely</strongs><strongs number="1931">it</strongs><strongs number="2100">floweth</strongs>with <strongs number="2461">milk</strongs>and <strongs number="1706">honey</strongs>; and <strongs number="2088">this</strongs><em> is </em>the <strongs number="6529">fruit</strongs>of it. </verse>
      <verse number='28'><strongs number="657 3588">Nevertheless</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs><em> be </em><strongs number="5794">strong</strongs>that <strongs number="3427">dwell</strongs>in the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>, and the <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs><em> are </em><strongs number="1219">walled</strongs>, <em> and </em><strongs number="3966">very</strongs><strongs number="1419">great</strongs>: and <strongs number="1571">moreover</strongs>we <strongs number="7200">saw</strongs>the <strongs number="3211">children</strongs>of <strongs number="6061">Anak</strongs><strongs number="8033">there</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='29'>The <strongs number="6003">Amalekites</strongs><strongs number="3427">dwell</strongs>in the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>of the <strongs number="5045">south</strongs>: and the <strongs number="2850">Hittites</strongs>, and the <strongs number="2983">Jebusites</strongs>, and the <strongs number="567">Amorites</strongs>, <strongs number="3427">dwell</strongs>in the <strongs number="2022">mountains</strongs>: and the <strongs number="3669">Canaanites</strongs><strongs number="3427">dwell</strongs><strongs number="5921">by</strongs>the <strongs number="3220">sea</strongs>, and <strongs number="5921">by</strongs>the <strongs number="3027">coast</strongs>of <strongs number="3383">Jordan</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='30'>And <strongs number="3612">Caleb</strongs><strongs number="2013">stilled</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs><strongs number="413">before</strongs><strongs number="4872">Moses</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, Let us go up at <strongs number="5927 5927">once</strongs>, and <strongs number="3423">possess</strongs>it; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>we are well <strongs number="3201">able</strongs>to <strongs number="3201">overcome</strongs>it. </verse>
      <verse number='31'>But the <strongs number="376">men</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>went <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>him <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, We be not <strongs number="3201 3808">able</strongs>to go <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="413">against</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="1931">they</strongs><em> are </em><strongs number="2389">stronger</strongs><strongs number="4480">than</strongs>we. </verse>
