      <verse number='2'>And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>shall go <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>: <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, I have <strongs number="5414">delivered</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>into his <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>And <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto <strongs number="8095">Simeon</strongs>his <strongs number="251">brother</strongs>, Come <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>me into my <strongs number="1486">lot</strongs>, that we may <strongs number="3898">fight</strongs>against the <strongs number="3669">Canaanites</strongs>; and <strongs number="589">I</strongs><strongs number="1571">likewise</strongs>will <strongs number="1980">go</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>thee into thy <strongs number="1486">lot</strongs>. So <strongs number="8095">Simeon</strongs><strongs number="1980">went</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>And <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>went <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>; and the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="5414">delivered</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3669">Canaanites</strongs>and the <strongs number="6522">Perizzites</strongs>into their <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>: and they <strongs number="5221">slew</strongs>of them in <strongs number="966">Bezek</strongs><strongs number="6235">ten</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>And they <strongs number="4672">found</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="137">Adoni</strongs>-bezek in <strongs number="966">Bezek</strongs>: and they <strongs number="3898">fought</strongs>against him, and they <strongs number="5221">slew</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3669">Canaanites</strongs>and the <strongs number="6522">Perizzites</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>But <strongs number="137">Adoni</strongs>-bezek <strongs number="5127">fled</strongs>; and they <strongs number="7291">pursued</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs>him, and <strongs number="270">caught</strongs>him, and cut <strongs number="7112">off</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>his <strongs number="931 3027">thumbs</strongs>and his great <strongs number="7272">toes</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>And <strongs number="137">Adoni</strongs>-bezek <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, Threescore and <strongs number="7657">ten</strongs><strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>, having their <strongs number="931 3027">thumbs</strongs>and their great <strongs number="7272">toes</strongs>cut <strongs number="7112">off</strongs>, <strongs number="3950">gathered</strongs><em> their </em><em> meat </em><strongs number="8478">under</strongs>my <strongs number="7979">table</strongs>: <strongs number="834">as</strongs>I have <strongs number="6213">done</strongs>, <strongs number="3651">so</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>hath <strongs number="7999">requited</strongs>me.       <verse number='8'>Now the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>had <strongs number="3898">fought</strongs>against <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, and had <strongs number="3920">taken</strongs>it, and <strongs number="5221">smitten</strongs>it with the <strongs number="6310">edge</strongs>of the <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>, and <strongs number="7971">set</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>on <strongs number="784">fire</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>And <strongs number="310">afterward</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>went <strongs number="3381">down</strongs>to <strongs number="3898">fight</strongs>against the <strongs number="3669">Canaanites</strongs>, that <strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs>in the <strongs number="2022">mountain</strongs>, and in the <strongs number="5045">south</strongs>, and in the <strongs number="8219">valley</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>And <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="1980">went</strongs><strongs number="3413">against</strongs>the <strongs number="3669">Canaanites</strongs>that <strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs>in <strongs number="2275">Hebron</strongs>: (now the <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>of <strongs number="2275">Hebron</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="7153">Kirjath</strongs>-arba:) and they <strongs number="5221">slew</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="8344">Sheshai</strongs>, and <strongs number="289">Ahiman</strongs>, and <strongs number="8526">Talmai</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>And from <strongs number="4480 8033">thence</strongs>he <strongs number="1980">went</strongs><strongs number="413">against</strongs>the <strongs number="3427">inhabitants</strongs>of <strongs number="1688">Debir</strongs>: and the <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>of <strongs number="1688">Debir</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="7158">Kirjath</strongs>-sepher: </verse>

      <verse number='16'>And the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of the <strongs number="7017">Kenite</strongs>, <strongs number="4872">Moses</strongs>' <strongs number="2859">father</strongs>-in-law, went <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>out of the <strongs number="4480 5892">city</strongs>of palm <strongs number="8558">trees</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>into the <strongs number="4480 4057">wilderness</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs><em> lieth </em>in the <strongs number="5045">south</strongs>of <strongs number="6166">Arad</strongs>; and they <strongs number="1980">went</strongs>and <strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs><strongs number="854">among</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>And <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="1980">went</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs><strongs number="8095">Simeon</strongs>his <strongs number="251">brother</strongs>, and they <strongs number="5221">slew</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3669">Canaanites</strongs>that <strongs number="3427">inhabited</strongs><strongs number="6857">Zephath</strongs>, and utterly <strongs number="2763">destroyed</strongs>it. And <strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>of the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>was <strongs number="7121">called</strongs><strongs number="2767">Hormah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>Also <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="3920">took</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="5804">Gaza</strongs><strongs number="*853">with</strongs>the <strongs number="1366">coast</strongs>thereof, and <strongs number="831">Askelon</strongs>with the <strongs number="1366">coast</strongs>thereof, and <strongs number="6138">Ekron</strongs>with the <strongs number="1366">coast</strongs>thereof. </verse>
      <verse number='19'>And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="1961">was</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs><strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>; and he drove <strongs number="3423">out</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><em> the </em><em> inhabitants </em><em> of </em>the <strongs number="2022">mountain</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">but</strongs>could <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>drive <strongs number="3423">out</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3427">inhabitants</strongs>of the <strongs number="6010">valley</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>they had <strongs number="7393">chariots</strongs>of <strongs number="1270">iron</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='21'>And the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>did <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>drive <strongs number="3423">out</strongs>the <strongs number="2983">Jebusites</strongs>that <strongs number="3427">inhabited</strongs><strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>; but the <strongs number="2983">Jebusites</strongs><strongs number="3427">dwell</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>in <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs><strongs number="5704">unto</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='22'>And the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="3130">Joseph</strongs>, <strongs number="1992">they</strongs><strongs number="1571">also</strongs>went <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>against <strongs number="1008">Bethel</strongs>: and the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='23'>And the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="3130">Joseph</strongs>sent to <strongs number="8446">descry</strongs><strongs number="1008">Bethel</strongs>. (Now the <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>of the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="3870">Luz</strongs>.) </verse>
      <verse number='24'>And the <strongs number="8104">spies</strongs><strongs number="7200">saw</strongs>a <strongs number="376">man</strongs>come <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs>out <strongs number="4480">of</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, and they <strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto him, <strongs number="7200">Show</strongs>us, we pray <strongs number="4994">thee</strongs>, <strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3996">entrance</strongs>into the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, and we will <strongs number="6213 5973">show</strongs>thee <strongs number="2617">mercy</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='27'><strongs number="3808">Neither</strongs>did <strongs number="4519">Manasseh</strongs>drive <strongs number="3423">out</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><em> the </em><em> inhabitants </em><em> of </em><strongs number="1052">Beth</strongs>-shean and her <strongs number="1323">towns</strongs>, nor <strongs number="8590">Taanach</strongs>and her <strongs number="1323">towns</strongs>, nor the <strongs number="3427">inhabitants</strongs>of <strongs number="1756">Dor</strongs>and her <strongs number="1323">towns</strongs>, nor the <strongs number="3427">inhabitants</strongs>of <strongs number="2991">Ibleam</strongs>and her <strongs number="1323">towns</strongs>, nor the <strongs number="3427">inhabitants</strongs>of <strongs number="4023">Megiddo</strongs>and her <strongs number="1323">towns</strongs>: but the <strongs number="3669">Canaanites</strongs><strongs number="2974">would</strongs><strongs number="3427">dwell</strongs>in <strongs number="2063">that</strongs><strongs number="776">land</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='28'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">when</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>was <strongs number="2388">strong</strongs>, that they <strongs number="7760">put</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3669">Canaanites</strongs>to <strongs number="4522">tribute</strongs>, and did <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>utterly drive them <strongs number="3423 3423">out</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='30'><strongs number="3808">Neither</strongs>did <strongs number="2074">Zebulun</strongs>drive <strongs number="3423">out</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3427">inhabitants</strongs>of <strongs number="7003">Kitron</strongs>, nor the <strongs number="3427">inhabitants</strongs>of <strongs number="5096">Nahalol</strongs>; but the <strongs number="3669">Canaanites</strongs><strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs><strongs number="7130">among</strongs>them, and <strongs number="1961">became</strongs><strongs number="4522">tributaries</strongs>. </verse>
