      <verse number='1'>In the <strongs number="8671">ninth</strongs><strongs number="8141">year</strongs>of <strongs number="6667">Zedekiah</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, in the <strongs number="6224">tenth</strongs><strongs number="2320">month</strongs>, <strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="5019">Nebuchadnezzar</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>his <strongs number="2428">army</strongs><strongs number="413">against</strongs><strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, and they <strongs number="6696">besieged</strongs>it. </verse>
      <verse number='2'><em> And </em>in the <strongs number="6249 6240">eleventh</strongs><strongs number="8141">year</strongs>of <strongs number="6667">Zedekiah</strongs>, in the <strongs number="7243">fourth</strongs><strongs number="2320">month</strongs>, the <strongs number="8672">ninth</strongs><em> day </em>of the <strongs number="2320">month</strongs>, the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>was broken <strongs number="1234">up</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>And <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="8269">princes</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>came <strongs number="935">in</strongs>, and <strongs number="3427">sat</strongs>in the <strongs number="8432">middle</strongs><strongs number="8179">gate</strongs>, <em> even </em><strongs number="5371">Nergal</strongs>-sharezer, <strongs number="5562">Samgar</strongs>-nebo, <strongs number="8310">Sarsechim</strongs>, <strongs number="7249">Rabsaris</strongs>, <strongs number="5371">Nergal</strongs>-sharezer, <strongs number="7248">Rab</strongs>-mag, with <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="7611">residue</strongs>of the <strongs number="8269">princes</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, <em> that </em><strongs number="834">when</strongs><strongs number="6667">Zedekiah</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="7200">saw</strongs>them, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="4421">war</strongs>, then they <strongs number="1272">fled</strongs>, and went <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs>out <strongs number="4480">of</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>by <strongs number="3915">night</strongs>, by the <strongs number="1870">way</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>'s <strongs number="1588">garden</strongs>, by the <strongs number="8179">gate</strongs><strongs number="996">between</strongs>the two <strongs number="2346">walls</strongs>: and he went <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>the <strongs number="1870">way</strongs>of the <strongs number="6160">plain</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>But the <strongs number="3778">Chaldeans</strongs>' <strongs number="2428">army</strongs><strongs number="7291">pursued</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs>them, and <strongs number="5381">overtook</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="6667">Zedekiah</strongs>in the <strongs number="6160">plains</strongs>of <strongs number="3405">Jericho</strongs>: and when they had <strongs number="3947">taken</strongs>him, they brought him <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="5019">Nebuchadnezzar</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>to <strongs number="7247">Riblah</strongs>in the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="2574">Hamath</strongs>, where he <strongs number="1696">gave</strongs><strongs number="4941">judgment</strongs><strongs number="854">upon</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>Then the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs><strongs number="7819">slew</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>of <strongs number="6667">Zedekiah</strongs>in <strongs number="7247">Riblah</strongs>before his <strongs number="5869">eyes</strongs>: also the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs><strongs number="7819">slew</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="2715">nobles</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>Moreover he put <strongs number="5786">out</strongs><strongs number="6677">Zedekiah</strongs>'s <strongs number="5869">eyes</strongs>, and <strongs number="631">bound</strongs>him with <strongs number="5178">chains</strongs>, to <strongs number="935">carry</strongs>him to <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>And the <strongs number="3778">Chaldeans</strongs><strongs number="8313">burned</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>'s <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>, and the <strongs number="1004">houses</strongs>of the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, with <strongs number="784">fire</strongs>, and broke <strongs number="5422">down</strongs>the <strongs number="2346">walls</strongs>of <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'><strongs number="227">Then</strongs><strongs number="5018">Nebuzaradan</strongs>the <strongs number="7227">captain</strongs>of the <strongs number="2876">guard</strongs>carried away <strongs number="1540">captive</strongs>into <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>the <strongs number="3499">remnant</strongs>of the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>that <strongs number="7604">remained</strongs>in the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, and those that fell <strongs number="5307">away</strongs>, <strongs number="834">that</strongs><strongs number="5307">fell</strongs><strongs number="5921">to</strongs>him, with <strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3499">rest</strongs>of the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>that <strongs number="7604">remained</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>But <strongs number="5018">Nebuzaradan</strongs>the <strongs number="7227">captain</strongs>of the <strongs number="2876">guard</strongs><strongs number="7604">left</strongs>of the <strongs number="1800">poor</strongs><strongs number="4480">of</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs>had <strongs number="369 3972">nothing</strongs>, in the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, and <strongs number="5414">gave</strongs>them <strongs number="3754">vineyards</strongs>and <strongs number="3010">fields</strongs>at the <strongs number="1931">same</strongs><strongs number="3117">time</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>Now <strongs number="5019">Nebuchadnezzar</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>gave <strongs number="6680">charge</strongs><strongs number="5921">concerning</strongs><strongs number="3414">Jeremiah</strongs><strongs number="3027">to</strongs><strongs number="5018">Nebuzaradan</strongs>the <strongs number="7227">captain</strongs>of the <strongs number="2876">guard</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='12'><strongs number="3947">Take</strongs>him, and look <strongs number="5869 7760">well</strongs><strongs number="5921">to</strongs>him, and <strongs number="6213">do</strongs>him <strongs number="408 3972">no</strongs><strongs number="7451">harm</strongs>; <strongs number="3588 518">but</strongs><strongs number="6213">do</strongs><strongs number="5973">unto</strongs>him <strongs number="3651">even</strongs><strongs number="834">as</strongs>he shall <strongs number="1696">say</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>thee. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>So <strongs number="5018">Nebuzaradan</strongs>the <strongs number="7227">captain</strongs>of the <strongs number="2876">guard</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs>, and <strongs number="5021">Nebushasban</strongs>, <strongs number="7249">Rabsaris</strongs>, and <strongs number="5371">Nergal</strongs>-sharezer, <strongs number="7248">Rab</strongs>-mag, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>'s <strongs number="7227">princes</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='14'>Even they <strongs number="7971">sent</strongs>, and <strongs number="3947">took</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3414">Jeremiah</strongs>out of the <strongs number="4480 2691">court</strongs>of the <strongs number="4307">prison</strongs>, and <strongs number="5414">committed</strongs>him <strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="1436">Gedaliah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="296">Ahikam</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="8227">Shaphan</strongs>, that he should <strongs number="3318">carry</strongs>him <strongs number="1004">home</strongs>: so he <strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs><strongs number="8432">among</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>Now the <strongs number="1697">word</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="1961">came</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="3414">Jeremiah</strongs>, while he <strongs number="1961">was</strongs>shut <strongs number="6113">up</strongs>in the <strongs number="2691">court</strongs>of the <strongs number="4307">prison</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='16'><strongs number="1980">Go</strongs>and <strongs number="559">speak</strongs>to <strongs number="5663">Ebed</strongs>-melech the <strongs number="3569">Ethiopian</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="3541">Thus</strongs><strongs number="559">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>of <strongs number="6635">hosts</strongs>, the <strongs number="430">God</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>; <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, I will <strongs number="935">bring</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>my <strongs number="1697">words</strongs><strongs number="413">upon</strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="5892">city</strongs>for <strongs number="7451">evil</strongs>, and <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>for <strongs number="2896">good</strongs>; and they shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs><em> accomplished </em>in <strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>thee. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>But I will <strongs number="5337">deliver</strongs>thee in <strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>, <strongs number="5002">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>: and thou shalt <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>be <strongs number="5414">given</strongs>into the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="834">whom</strongs><strongs number="859">thou</strongs><em> art </em><strongs number="3016 4480 6440">afraid</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs>I will surely <strongs number="4422 4422">deliver</strongs>thee, and thou shalt <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5307">fall</strongs>by the <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>, but thy <strongs number="5315">life</strongs>shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>for a <strongs number="7998">prey</strongs>unto thee: <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>thou hast put thy <strongs number="982">trust</strongs>in me, <strongs number="5002">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>. </verse>
