      <verse number='2'><strongs number="4480">Of</strongs>the <strongs number="1471">nations</strongs><em> concerning </em><strongs number="834">which</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, Ye shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>go <strongs number="935">in</strongs>to them, <strongs number="3808">neither</strongs>shall <strongs number="1992">they</strongs>come <strongs number="935">in</strongs>unto you: <em> for </em><strongs number="403">surely</strongs>they will turn <strongs number="5186">away</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>your <strongs number="3824">heart</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs>their <strongs number="430">gods</strongs>: <strongs number="8010">Solomon</strongs><strongs number="1692">cleaved</strongs>unto these in <strongs number="157">love</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='5'>For <strongs number="8010">Solomon</strongs><strongs number="1980">went</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs><strongs number="6253">Ashtoreth</strongs>the <strongs number="430">goddess</strongs>of the <strongs number="6722">Zidonians</strongs>, and <strongs number="310">after</strongs><strongs number="4445">Milcom</strongs>the <strongs number="8251">abomination</strongs>of the <strongs number="5984">Ammonites</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>And <strongs number="8010">Solomon</strongs><strongs number="6213">did</strongs><strongs number="7451">evil</strongs>in the <strongs number="5869">sight</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, and went not <strongs number="3808 4390">fully</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, as <em> did </em><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>his <strongs number="1">father</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'><strongs number="227">Then</strongs>did <strongs number="8010">Solomon</strongs><strongs number="1129">build</strongs>a high <strongs number="1116">place</strongs>for <strongs number="3645">Chemosh</strongs>, the <strongs number="8251">abomination</strongs>of <strongs number="4124">Moab</strongs>, in the <strongs number="2022">hill</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="5921 6440">before</strongs><strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, and for <strongs number="4432">Molech</strongs>, the <strongs number="8251">abomination</strongs>of the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="5983">Ammon</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>And <strongs number="3651">likewise</strongs><strongs number="6213">did</strongs>he for <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>his <strongs number="5237">strange</strongs><strongs number="802">wives</strongs>, which burnt <strongs number="6999">incense</strongs>and <strongs number="2076">sacrificed</strongs>unto their <strongs number="430">gods</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>was <strongs number="599">angry</strongs>with <strongs number="8010">Solomon</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>his <strongs number="3824">heart</strongs>was <strongs number="5186">turned</strongs><strongs number="4480 5973">from</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, which had <strongs number="7200">appeared</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him <strongs number="6471">twice</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='10'>And had <strongs number="6680 413">commanded</strongs>him <strongs number="5921">concerning</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="1697">thing</strongs>, that he should <strongs number="1115">not</strongs><strongs number="1980">go</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs><strongs number="312">other</strongs><strongs number="430">gods</strongs>: but he <strongs number="8104">kept</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>that <strongs number="834">which</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="6680">commanded</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>Wherefore the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto <strongs number="8010">Solomon</strongs>, <strongs number="3282">Forasmuch</strongs><strongs number="834">as</strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="1961">is</strongs>done <strongs number="5973">of</strongs>thee, and thou hast <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="8104">kept</strongs>my <strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs>and my <strongs number="2708">statutes</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs>I have <strongs number="6680 5921">commanded</strongs>thee, I will surely <strongs number="7167 7167">rend</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4467">kingdom</strongs><strongs number="4480 5921">from</strongs>thee, and will <strongs number="5414">give</strongs>it to thy <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'><strongs number="389">Notwithstanding</strongs>in thy <strongs number="3117">days</strongs>I will <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="6213">do</strongs>it for David thy father's <strongs number="4616 1732 1">sake</strongs>: <em> but </em>I will <strongs number="7167">rend</strongs>it out of the <strongs number="4480 3027">hand</strongs>of thy <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='14'>And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>stirred <strongs number="6965">up</strongs>an <strongs number="7854">adversary</strongs>unto <strongs number="8010">Solomon</strongs>, <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="1908">Hadad</strongs>the <strongs number="130">Edomite</strongs>: <strongs number="1931">he</strongs><em> was </em>of the king's <strongs number="4480 2233 4428">seed</strongs>in <strongs number="123">Edom</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>For it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, when <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="1961">was</strongs>in <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="123">Edom</strongs>, and <strongs number="3097">Joab</strongs>the <strongs number="8269">captain</strongs>of the <strongs number="6635">host</strongs>was gone <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>to <strongs number="6912">bury</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="2491">slain</strongs>, after he had <strongs number="5221">smitten</strongs><strongs number="3605">every</strongs><strongs number="2145">male</strongs>in <strongs number="123">Edom</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='16'>( <strongs number="3588">For</strongs><strongs number="8337">six</strongs><strongs number="2320">months</strongs>did <strongs number="3097">Joab</strongs><strongs number="3427">remain</strongs><strongs number="8033">there</strongs>with <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <strongs number="5704">until</strongs>he had cut <strongs number="3772">off</strongs><strongs number="3605">every</strongs><strongs number="2145">male</strongs>in <strongs number="123">Edom</strongs>:) </verse>
      <verse number='17'>That <strongs number="111">Hadad</strongs><strongs number="1272">fled</strongs>, <strongs number="1931">he</strongs>and <strongs number="376">certain</strongs><strongs number="129">Edomites</strongs>of his father's <strongs number="4480 5650 1">servants</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>him, to <strongs number="935">go</strongs>into <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>; <strongs number="1908">Hadad</strongs><em> being </em>yet a <strongs number="6996">little</strongs><strongs number="5288">child</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='20'>And the <strongs number="269">sister</strongs>of <strongs number="8472">Tahpenes</strongs><strongs number="3205">bore</strongs>him <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="1592">Genubath</strongs>his <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>, whom <strongs number="8472">Tahpenes</strongs><strongs number="1580">weaned</strongs><strongs number="8432">in</strongs><strongs number="6547">Pharaoh</strongs>'s <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>: and <strongs number="1592">Genubath</strongs><strongs number="1961">was</strongs>in <strongs number="6547">Pharaoh</strongs>'s <strongs number="1004">household</strongs><strongs number="8432">among</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>of <strongs number="6547">Pharaoh</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='21'>And when <strongs number="1908">Hadad</strongs><strongs number="8085">heard</strongs>in <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="7901">slept</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>his <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>, and <strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="3097">Joab</strongs>the <strongs number="8269">captain</strongs>of the <strongs number="6635">host</strongs>was <strongs number="4191">dead</strongs>, <strongs number="1908">Hadad</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="6547">Pharaoh</strongs>, Let me <strongs number="7971">depart</strongs>, that I may <strongs number="1980">go</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>mine own <strongs number="776">country</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='22'>Then <strongs number="6547">Pharaoh</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto him, <strongs number="3588">But</strongs><strongs number="4100">what</strongs>hast <strongs number="859">thou</strongs><strongs number="2638">lacked</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>me, that, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, thou <strongs number="1245">seekest</strongs>to <strongs number="1980">go</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>thine own <strongs number="776">country</strongs>?       <verse number='24'>And he <strongs number="6908">gathered</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs><strongs number="5921">unto</strongs>him, and <strongs number="1961">became</strongs><strongs number="8269">captain</strongs>over a <strongs number="1416">band</strongs>, when <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="2026">slew</strongs>them <em> of </em><em> Zobah </em>: and they <strongs number="1980">went</strongs>to <strongs number="1834">Damascus</strongs>, and <strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs>therein, and <strongs number="4427">reigned</strongs>in <strongs number="1834">Damascus</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='26'>And <strongs number="3379">Jeroboam</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="5028">Nebat</strongs>, an <strongs number="673">Ephrathite</strongs><strongs number="4480">of</strongs><strongs number="6868">Zereda</strongs>, <strongs number="8010">Solomon</strongs>'s <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs>, whose <strongs number="517">mother</strongs>'s <strongs number="8034">name</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="6871">Zeruah</strongs>, a <strongs number="490">widow</strongs><strongs number="802">woman</strongs>, even he lifted <strongs number="7311">up</strongs><em> his </em><strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>against the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='28'>And the <strongs number="376">man</strongs><strongs number="3379">Jeroboam</strongs><em> was </em>a <strongs number="1368">mighty</strongs>man of <strongs number="2428">valor</strongs>: and <strongs number="8010">Solomon</strongs><strongs number="7200">seeing</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the young <strongs number="5288">man</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="1931">he</strongs>was <strongs number="6213 4399">industrious</strongs>, he made him <strongs number="6485 *853">ruler</strongs>over <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5447">charge</strongs>of the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="3130">Joseph</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='29'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>at <strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="6256">time</strongs>when <strongs number="3379">Jeroboam</strongs>went <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>of <strongs number="4480 3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, that the <strongs number="5030">prophet</strongs><strongs number="281">Ahijah</strongs>the <strongs number="7888">Shilonite</strongs><strongs number="4672">found</strongs>him in the <strongs number="1870">way</strongs>; and <strongs number="1931">he</strongs>had clad <strongs number="3680">himself</strongs>with a <strongs number="2319">new</strongs><strongs number="8008">garment</strongs>; and they <strongs number="8147">two</strongs><em> were </em><strongs number="905">alone</strongs>in the <strongs number="7704">field</strongs>: </verse>

      <verse number='37'>And I will <strongs number="3947">take</strongs>thee, and thou shalt <strongs number="4427">reign</strongs>according to <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>thy <strongs number="5315">soul</strongs><strongs number="183">desireth</strongs>, and shalt <strongs number="1961">be</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='38'>And it shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>, <strongs number="518">if</strongs>thou wilt hearken <strongs number="8085">unto</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>I <strongs number="6680">command</strongs>thee, and wilt <strongs number="1980">walk</strongs>in my <strongs number="1870">ways</strongs>, and <strongs number="6213">do</strongs><em> that </em><em> is </em><strongs number="3477">right</strongs>in my <strongs number="5869">sight</strongs>, to <strongs number="8104">keep</strongs>my <strongs number="2708">statutes</strongs>and my <strongs number="4687">commandments</strongs>, <strongs number="834">as</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>my <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs><strongs number="6213">did</strongs>; that I will <strongs number="1961">be</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>thee, and <strongs number="1129">build</strongs>thee a <strongs number="539">sure</strongs><strongs number="1004">house</strongs>, <strongs number="834">as</strongs>I <strongs number="1129">built</strongs>for <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, and will <strongs number="5414">give</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>unto thee. </verse>
      <verse number='39'>And I will <strongs number="4616">for</strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="6031">afflict</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="2233">seed</strongs>of <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, <strongs number="389">but</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="3605 3117">forever</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='40'><strongs number="8010">Solomon</strongs><strongs number="1245">sought</strongs>therefore to <strongs number="4191">kill</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3379">Jeroboam</strongs>. And <strongs number="3379">Jeroboam</strongs><strongs number="6965">arose</strongs>, and <strongs number="1272">fled</strongs>into <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>, <strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="7895">Shishak</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>, and <strongs number="1961">was</strongs>in <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs><strongs number="5704">until</strongs>the <strongs number="4194">death</strongs>of <strongs number="8010">Solomon</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='41'>And the <strongs number="3499">rest</strongs>of the <strongs number="1697">acts</strongs>of <strongs number="8010">Solomon</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>he <strongs number="6213">did</strongs>, and his <strongs number="2451">wisdom</strongs>, <em> are </em><strongs number="1992">they</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="3789">written</strongs><strongs number="5921">in</strongs>the <strongs number="5612">book</strongs>of the <strongs number="1697">acts</strongs>of <strongs number="8010">Solomon</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='42'>And the <strongs number="3117">time</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><strongs number="8010">Solomon</strongs><strongs number="4427">reigned</strongs>in <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="705">forty</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='43'>And <strongs number="8010">Solomon</strongs><strongs number="7901">slept</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>his <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>, and was <strongs number="6912">buried</strongs>in the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>of <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>his <strongs number="1">father</strongs>: and <strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs>his <strongs number="1121">son</strongs><strongs number="4427">reigned</strongs>in his <strongs number="8478">stead</strongs>. </verse>
