And he <strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto him, There <strongs number="1961">were</strongs><strongs number="8147">two</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs>in <strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="5892">city</strongs>; the <strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="6223">rich</strongs>, and the <strongs number="259">other</strongs><strongs number="7326">poor</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>The <strongs number="6223">rich</strongs><em> man </em><strongs number="1961">had</strongs><strongs number="3966">exceeding</strongs><strongs number="7235">many</strongs><strongs number="6629">flocks</strongs>and <strongs number="1241">herds</strongs>: </verse>

      <verse number='13'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="5416">Nathan</strongs>, I have <strongs number="2398">sinned</strongs>against the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>. And <strongs number="5416">Nathan</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, The <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="1571">also</strongs>hath put <strongs number="5674">away</strongs>thy <strongs number="2403">sin</strongs>; thou shalt <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="4191">die</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'><strongs number="657">Howbeit</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>by <strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="1697">deed</strongs>thou hast given great <strongs number="5006">occasion</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>to the <strongs number="341">enemies</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>to <strongs number="5006">blaspheme</strongs>, the <strongs number="1121">child</strongs><strongs number="1571">also</strongs><em> that </em><em> is </em><strongs number="3209">born</strongs>unto thee shall surely <strongs number="4191 4191">die</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>And <strongs number="5416">Nathan</strongs><strongs number="1980">departed</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>his <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>. And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="5062">struck</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3206">child</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><strongs number="223">Uriah</strongs>'s <strongs number="802">wife</strongs><strongs number="3205">bore</strongs>unto <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, and it was very <strongs number="605">sick</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>therefore <strongs number="1245">besought</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs><strongs number="1157">for</strongs>the <strongs number="5288">child</strongs>; and <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="6684 6685">fasted</strongs>, and <strongs number="935">went</strongs>in, and <strongs number="7901">lay</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3885">night</strongs>upon the <strongs number="776">earth</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='18'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>on the <strongs number="7637">seventh</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>, that the <strongs number="3206">child</strongs><strongs number="4191">died</strongs>. And the <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs>of <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="3372">feared</strongs>to <strongs number="5046">tell</strongs>him <strongs number="3588">that</strongs>the <strongs number="3206">child</strongs>was <strongs number="4191">dead</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>they <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, while the <strongs number="3206">child</strongs><strongs number="1961">was</strongs>yet <strongs number="2416">alive</strongs>, we <strongs number="1696">spoke</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, and he would <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="8085">hearken</strongs>unto our <strongs number="6963">voice</strongs>: <strongs number="349">how</strongs>will he then <strongs number="6213 7451">vex</strongs>himself, if we <strongs number="559 413">tell</strongs>him that the <strongs number="3206">child</strongs>is <strongs number="4191">dead</strongs>? </verse>

      <verse number='26'>And <strongs number="3097">Joab</strongs><strongs number="3898">fought</strongs>against <strongs number="7237">Rabbah</strongs>of the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="5983">Ammon</strongs>, and <strongs number="3920">took</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4410">royal</strongs><strongs number="5892">city</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='27'>And <strongs number="3097">Joab</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="4397">messengers</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, I have <strongs number="3898">fought</strongs>against <strongs number="7237">Rabbah</strongs>, <strongs number="1571">and</strongs>have <strongs number="3920">taken</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>of <strongs number="4325">waters</strongs>. </verse>
