      <verse number='1'>And <strongs number="3290">Jacob</strongs><strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs>in the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>wherein his <strongs number="1">father</strongs>was a <strongs number="4033">stranger</strongs>, in the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="3667">Canaan</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'><strongs number="428">These</strongs><em> are </em>the <strongs number="8435">generations</strongs>of <strongs number="3290">Jacob</strongs>. <strongs number="3130">Joseph</strongs>, <em> being </em><strongs number="7651 6240">seventeen</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs><strongs number="1121">old</strongs>, <strongs number="1961">was</strongs><strongs number="7462">feeding</strongs>the <strongs number="6629">flock</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>his <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs>; and the <strongs number="5288">lad</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="854">with</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>of <strongs number="1090">Bilhah</strongs>, and <strongs number="854">with</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>of <strongs number="2153">Zilpah</strongs>, his <strongs number="1">father</strongs>'s <strongs number="802">wives</strongs>: and <strongs number="3130">Joseph</strongs><strongs number="935">brought</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>his <strongs number="1">father</strongs>their <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="7451">evil</strongs><strongs number="1681">report</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>Now <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="157">loved</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3130">Joseph</strongs>more than <strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs>his <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">because</strongs><strongs number="1931">he</strongs><em> was </em>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of his old <strongs number="2208">age</strongs>: and he <strongs number="6213">made</strongs>him a <strongs number="3801">coat</strongs>of <em> many </em><strongs number="6446">colors</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>And when his <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs><strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>their <strongs number="1">father</strongs><strongs number="157">loved</strongs>him more than <strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs>his <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs>, they <strongs number="8130">hated</strongs>him, and <strongs number="3201">could</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="1696">speak</strongs><strongs number="7965">peaceably</strongs>unto him. </verse>

      <verse number='8'>And his <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>to him, Shalt thou indeed <strongs number="4427 4427">reign</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs>us? <strongs number="518">or</strongs>shalt thou indeed have <strongs number="4910 4910">dominion</strongs>over us? And they <strongs number="8130">hated</strongs>him <strongs number="5750">yet</strongs>the <strongs number="3254">more</strongs><strongs number="5921">for</strongs>his <strongs number="2472">dreams</strongs>, and <strongs number="5921">for</strongs>his <strongs number="1697">words</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='15'>And a certain <strongs number="376">man</strongs><strongs number="4672">found</strongs>him, and, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, <em> he </em><em> was </em><strongs number="8582">wandering</strongs>in the <strongs number="7704">field</strongs>: and the <strongs number="376">man</strongs><strongs number="7592">asked</strongs>him, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="4100">What</strongs><strongs number="1245">seekest</strongs>thou? </verse>
      <verse number='16'>And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="595">I</strongs><strongs number="1245">seek</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>my <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs>: <strongs number="5046">tell</strongs>me, I pray <strongs number="4994">thee</strongs>, <strongs number="375">where</strongs><strongs number="1992">they</strongs><strongs number="7462">feed</strongs><em> their </em><em> flocks </em>. </verse>

And <strongs number="3130">Joseph</strongs><strongs number="1980">went</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs>his <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs>, and <strongs number="4672">found</strongs>them in <strongs number="1886">Dothan</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>And when they <strongs number="7200">saw</strongs>him afar <strongs number="4480 7350">off</strongs>, even <strongs number="2962">before</strongs>he came <strongs number="7126">near</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>them, they <strongs number="5230">conspired</strongs>against him to <strongs number="4191">slay</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='19'>And they <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="376">one</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="251">another</strongs>, <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, <strongs number="1976">this</strongs><strongs number="1167 2472">dreamer</strongs><strongs number="935">cometh</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='20'><strongs number="1980">Come</strongs><strongs number="6258">now</strongs>therefore, and let us <strongs number="2026">slay</strongs>him, and <strongs number="7993">cast</strongs>him into <strongs number="259">some</strongs><strongs number="953">pit</strongs>, and we will <strongs number="559">say</strongs>, Some <strongs number="7451">evil</strongs><strongs number="2416">beast</strongs>hath <strongs number="398">devoured</strongs>him: and we shall <strongs number="7200">see</strongs><strongs number="4100">what</strongs>will <strongs number="1961">become</strongs>of his <strongs number="2472">dreams</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='21'>And <strongs number="7205">Reuben</strongs><strongs number="8085">heard</strongs><em> it </em>, and he <strongs number="5337">delivered</strongs>him out of their <strongs number="4480 3027">hands</strongs>; and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, Let us <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5221">kill</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='22'>And <strongs number="7205">Reuben</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>them, <strongs number="8210">Shed</strongs><strongs number="408">no</strongs><strongs number="1818">blood</strongs>, <em> but </em><strongs number="7993">cast</strongs>him <strongs number="413">into</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="953">pit</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> is </em>in the <strongs number="4057">wilderness</strongs>, and <strongs number="7971">lay</strongs><strongs number="408">no</strongs><strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>upon him; <strongs number="4616">that</strongs>he might <strongs number="5337">rid</strongs>him out of their <strongs number="4480 3027">hands</strongs>, to <strongs number="7725">deliver</strongs>him <strongs number="413">to</strongs>his <strongs number="1">father</strongs>again. </verse>

      <verse number='24'>And they <strongs number="3947">took</strongs>him, and <strongs number="7993">cast</strongs>him into a <strongs number="953">pit</strongs>: and the <strongs number="953">pit</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="7386">empty</strongs>, <em> there </em><em> was </em><strongs number="369">no</strongs><strongs number="4325">water</strongs>in it. </verse>

      <verse number='34'>And <strongs number="3290">Jacob</strongs><strongs number="7167">rent</strongs>his <strongs number="8071">clothes</strongs>, and <strongs number="7760">put</strongs><strongs number="8242">sackcloth</strongs>upon his <strongs number="4975">loins</strongs>, and <strongs number="56">mourned</strongs><strongs number="5921">for</strongs>his <strongs number="1121">son</strongs><strongs number="7227">many</strongs><strongs number="3117">days</strongs>. </verse>
