      <verse number='2'><strongs number="1696">Speak</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="5414">Appoint</strongs>out for you <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>of <strongs number="4733">refuge</strongs>, <strongs number="834">whereof</strongs>I <strongs number="1696">spoke</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>you by the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of <strongs number="4872">Moses</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='3'>That the <strongs number="7523">slayer</strongs>that <strongs number="5221">killeth</strongs><em> any </em><strongs number="5315">person</strongs><strongs number="7684">unawares</strongs><em> and </em><strongs number="1097 1847">unwittingly</strongs>may <strongs number="5127">flee</strongs><strongs number="8033">thither</strongs>: and they shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>your <strongs number="4733">refuge</strongs>from the <strongs number="4480 1350">avenger</strongs>of <strongs number="1818">blood</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>And when he that doth <strongs number="5127">flee</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="259">one</strongs>of <strongs number="428">those</strongs><strongs number="4480 5892">cities</strongs>shall <strongs number="5975">stand</strongs>at the <strongs number="6607">entering</strongs>of the <strongs number="8179">gate</strongs>of the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, and shall <strongs number="1696">declare</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>his <strongs number="1697">cause</strongs>in the <strongs number="241">ears</strongs>of the <strongs number="2205">elders</strongs>of <strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, they shall <strongs number="622">take</strongs>him into the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>unto them, and <strongs number="5414 413">give</strongs>him a <strongs number="4725">place</strongs>, that he may <strongs number="3427">dwell</strongs><strongs number="5973">among</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>And <strongs number="3588">if</strongs>the <strongs number="1350">avenger</strongs>of <strongs number="1818">blood</strongs><strongs number="7291">pursue</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs>him, then they shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5462">deliver</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="7523">slayer</strongs>up into his <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>he <strongs number="5221">smote</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>his <strongs number="7453">neighbor</strongs><strongs number="1097 1847">unwittingly</strongs>, and <strongs number="8130">hated</strongs>him <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="8543 8032">formerly</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>And he shall <strongs number="3427">dwell</strongs>in <strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, <strongs number="5704">until</strongs>he <strongs number="5975">stand</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>the <strongs number="5712">congregation</strongs>for <strongs number="4941">judgment</strongs>, <em> and </em><strongs number="5704">until</strongs>the <strongs number="4194">death</strongs>of the <strongs number="1419">high</strongs><strongs number="3548">priest</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>in <strongs number="1992">those</strongs><strongs number="3117">days</strongs>: <strongs number="227">then</strongs>shall the <strongs number="7523">slayer</strongs><strongs number="7725">return</strongs>, and <strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>his own <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, and <strongs number="413">unto</strongs>his own <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>, <strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>from <strongs number="834 4480 8033">whence</strongs>he <strongs number="5127">fled</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>And they <strongs number="6942">appointed</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="6943">Kedesh</strongs>in <strongs number="1551">Galilee</strongs>in <strongs number="2022">mount</strongs><strongs number="5321">Naphtali</strongs>, and <strongs number="7927">Shechem</strongs>in <strongs number="2022">mount</strongs><strongs number="669">Ephraim</strongs>, and <strongs number="7153">Kirjath</strongs>-arba, <strongs number="1931">which</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="2275">Hebron</strongs>, in the <strongs number="2022">mountain</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>And on the other <strongs number="4480 5676">side</strongs><strongs number="3383">Jordan</strongs>by <strongs number="3405">Jericho</strongs><strongs number="4217">eastward</strongs>, they <strongs number="5414">assigned</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="1221">Bezer</strongs>in the <strongs number="4057">wilderness</strongs>upon the <strongs number="4334">plain</strongs>out of the <strongs number="4480 4294">tribe</strongs>of <strongs number="7205">Reuben</strongs>, and <strongs number="7216">Ramoth</strongs>in <strongs number="1568">Gilead</strongs>out of the <strongs number="4480 4294">tribe</strongs>of <strongs number="1410">Gad</strongs>, and <strongs number="1474">Golan</strongs>in <strongs number="1316">Bashan</strongs>out of the <strongs number="4480 4294">tribe</strongs>of <strongs number="4519">Manasseh</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'><strongs number="428">These</strongs><strongs number="1961">were</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs><strongs number="4152">appointed</strongs>for <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, and for the <strongs number="1616">stranger</strongs>that <strongs number="1481">sojourneth</strongs><strongs number="8432">among</strongs>them, that <strongs number="3605">whosoever</strongs><strongs number="5221">killeth</strongs><em> any </em><strongs number="5315">person</strongs>at <strongs number="7684">unawares</strongs>might <strongs number="5127">flee</strongs><strongs number="8033">thither</strongs>, and <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="4191">die</strongs>by the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of the <strongs number="1350">avenger</strongs>of <strongs number="1818">blood</strongs>, <strongs number="5704">until</strongs>he <strongs number="5975">stood</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>the <strongs number="5712">congregation</strongs>. </verse>
