      <verse number='2'>In the <strongs number="259">first</strongs><strongs number="8141">year</strongs>of his <strongs number="4427">reign</strongs><strongs number="589">I</strongs><strongs number="1840">Daniel</strongs><strongs number="995">understood</strongs>by <strongs number="5612">books</strongs>the <strongs number="4557">number</strongs>of the <strongs number="8141">years</strongs>, <strongs number="834">whereof</strongs>the <strongs number="1697">word</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="1961">came</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="3414">Jeremiah</strongs>the <strongs number="5030">prophet</strongs>, that he would <strongs number="4390">accomplish</strongs><strongs number="7657">seventy</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs>in the <strongs number="2723">desolations</strongs>of <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>And I <strongs number="5414">set</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>my <strongs number="6440">face</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="136">Lord</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>, to <strongs number="1245">seek</strongs>by <strongs number="8605">prayer</strongs>and <strongs number="8469">supplications</strongs>, with <strongs number="6685">fasting</strongs>, and <strongs number="8242">sackcloth</strongs>, and <strongs number="665">ashes</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='4'>And I <strongs number="6419">prayed</strongs>unto the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>my <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, and made my <strongs number="3034">confession</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="577">O</strongs><strongs number="136">Lord</strongs>, the <strongs number="1419">great</strongs>and <strongs number="3372">dreadful</strongs><strongs number="410">God</strongs>, <strongs number="8104">keeping</strongs>the <strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs>and <strongs number="2617">mercy</strongs>to them that <strongs number="157">love</strongs>him, and to them that <strongs number="8104">keep</strongs>his <strongs number="4687">commandments</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='5'>We have <strongs number="2398">sinned</strongs>, and have committed <strongs number="5753">iniquity</strongs>, and have done <strongs number="7561">wickedly</strongs>, and have <strongs number="4775">rebelled</strongs>, even by <strongs number="5493">departing</strongs>from thy <strongs number="4480 4687">precepts</strongs>and from thy <strongs number="4480 4941">judgments</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='6'><strongs number="3808">Neither</strongs>have we <strongs number="8085">hearkened</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>thy <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs>the <strongs number="5030">prophets</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs><strongs number="1696">spoke</strongs>in thy <strongs number="8034">name</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>our <strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>, our <strongs number="8269">princes</strongs>, and our <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>, and <strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>of the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>O <strongs number="136">Lord</strongs>, <strongs number="6666">righteousness</strongs><em> belongeth </em>unto thee, but unto us <strongs number="1322">confusion</strongs>of <strongs number="6440">faces</strongs>, as at <strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>; to the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, and to the <strongs number="3427">inhabitants</strongs>of <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, and unto <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <em> that </em><em> are </em><strongs number="7138">near</strongs>, and <em> that </em><em> are </em>far <strongs number="7350">off</strongs>, through <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="776">countries</strongs><strongs number="834 8033">whither</strongs>thou hast <strongs number="5080">driven</strongs>them, because of their <strongs number="4604">trespass</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>they have <strongs number="4603">trespassed</strongs>against thee. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>O <strongs number="3068">Lord</strongs>, to us <em> belongeth </em><strongs number="1322">confusion</strongs>of <strongs number="6440">face</strongs>, to our <strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>, to our <strongs number="8269">princes</strongs>, and to our <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>, <strongs number="834">because</strongs>we have <strongs number="2398">sinned</strongs>against thee. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>To the <strongs number="136">Lord</strongs>our <strongs number="430">God</strongs><em> belong </em><strongs number="7356">mercies</strongs>and <strongs number="5547">forgivenesses</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">though</strongs>we have <strongs number="4775">rebelled</strongs>against him; </verse>
      <verse number='10'><strongs number="3808">Neither</strongs>have we <strongs number="8085">obeyed</strongs>the <strongs number="6963">voice</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>our <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, to <strongs number="1980">walk</strongs>in his <strongs number="8451">laws</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs>he <strongs number="5414">set</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>us <strongs number="3027">by</strongs>his <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs>the <strongs number="5030">prophets</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='13'><strongs number="834">As</strongs><em> it </em><em> is </em><strongs number="3789">written</strongs>in the <strongs number="8451">law</strongs>of <strongs number="4872">Moses</strongs>, <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="7451">evil</strongs>is <strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>us: yet made we not our <strongs number="2470 3808">prayer</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>our <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, that we might <strongs number="7725">turn</strongs>from our <strongs number="4480 5771">iniquities</strongs>, and <strongs number="7919">understand</strongs>thy <strongs number="571">truth</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'>Therefore hath the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="8245">watched</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>the <strongs number="7451">evil</strongs>, and <strongs number="935">brought</strongs>it <strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>us: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>our <strongs number="430">God</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="6662">righteous</strongs><strongs number="5921">in</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>his <strongs number="4639">works</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>he <strongs number="6213">doeth</strongs>: for we <strongs number="8085">obeyed</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>his <strongs number="6963">voice</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>And <strongs number="6258">now</strongs>, O <strongs number="136">Lord</strongs>our <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, <strongs number="834">that</strongs>hast brought thy people <strongs number="3318 *853 5971">forth</strongs>out of the <strongs number="4480 776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>with a <strongs number="2389">mighty</strongs><strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>, and hast <strongs number="6213">gotten</strongs>thee <strongs number="8034">renown</strongs>, as at <strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>; we have <strongs number="2398">sinned</strongs>, we have done <strongs number="7561">wickedly</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>O <strongs number="136">Lord</strongs>, according to <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>thy <strongs number="6666">righteousness</strongs>, I beseech <strongs number="4994">thee</strongs>, let thine <strongs number="639">anger</strongs>and thy <strongs number="2534">fury</strongs>be turned <strongs number="7725">away</strongs>from thy <strongs number="4480 5892">city</strongs><strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, thy <strongs number="6944">holy</strongs><strongs number="2022">mountain</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>for our <strongs number="2399">sins</strongs>, and for the <strongs number="5771">iniquities</strongs>of our <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>, <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>and thy <strongs number="5971">people</strongs><em> are </em><em> become </em>a <strongs number="2781">reproach</strongs>to <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><em> that </em><em> are </em><strongs number="5439">about</strongs>us. </verse>
      <verse number='17'><strongs number="6258">Now</strongs>therefore, O our <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, <strongs number="8085 413">hear</strongs>the <strongs number="8605">prayer</strongs>of thy <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs>, and his <strongs number="8469">supplications</strongs>, and cause thy <strongs number="6440">face</strongs>to <strongs number="215">shine</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>thy <strongs number="4720">sanctuary</strongs>that is <strongs number="8076">desolate</strongs>, for the Lord's <strongs number="4616 136">sake</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>O my <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, <strongs number="5186">incline</strongs>thine <strongs number="241">ear</strongs>, and <strongs number="8085">hear</strongs>; <strongs number="6491">open</strongs>thine <strongs number="5869">eyes</strongs>, and <strongs number="7200">behold</strongs>our <strongs number="8074">desolations</strongs>, and the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>is <strongs number="7121">called</strongs><strongs number="5921">by</strongs>thy <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="587">we</strongs>do <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5307">present</strongs>our <strongs number="8469">supplications</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>thee <strongs number="5921">for</strongs>our <strongs number="6666">righteousnesses</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">but</strongs><strongs number="5921">for</strongs>thy <strongs number="7227">great</strongs><strongs number="7356">mercies</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='23'>At the <strongs number="8462">beginning</strongs>of thy <strongs number="8469">supplications</strongs>the <strongs number="1697">commandment</strongs>came <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs>, and <strongs number="589">I</strongs>am <strongs number="935">come</strongs>to <strongs number="5046">show</strongs><em> thee </em>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="859">thou</strongs><em> art </em>greatly <strongs number="2530">beloved</strongs>: therefore <strongs number="995">understand</strongs>the <strongs number="1697">matter</strongs>, and <strongs number="995">consider</strongs>the <strongs number="2377">vision</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='24'><strongs number="7657">Seventy</strongs><strongs number="7620">weeks</strongs>are <strongs number="2852">determined</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>thy <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>and <strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>thy <strongs number="6944">holy</strongs><strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, to <strongs number="3607">finish</strongs>the <strongs number="6588">transgression</strongs>, and to make an <strongs number="2856">end</strongs>of <strongs number="2403">sins</strongs>, and to make <strongs number="3722">reconciliation</strongs>for <strongs number="5771">iniquity</strongs>, and to bring <strongs number="935">in</strongs><strongs number="5769">everlasting</strongs><strongs number="6664">righteousness</strongs>, and to seal <strongs number="2856">up</strongs>the <strongs number="2377">vision</strongs>and <strongs number="5030">prophecy</strongs>, and to <strongs number="4886">anoint</strongs>the most <strongs number="6944 6944">Holy</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='25'><strongs number="3045">Know</strongs>therefore and <strongs number="7919">understand</strongs>, <em> that </em><strongs number="4480">from</strongs>the going <strongs number="4161">forth</strongs>of the <strongs number="1697">commandment</strongs>to <strongs number="7725">restore</strongs>and to <strongs number="1129">build</strongs><strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs><strongs number="5704">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="4899">Messiah</strongs>the <strongs number="5057">Prince</strongs><em> shall </em><em> be </em><strongs number="7651">seven</strongs><strongs number="7620">weeks</strongs>, and <strongs number="8346">threescore</strongs>and <strongs number="8147">two</strongs><strongs number="7620">weeks</strongs>: the <strongs number="7339">street</strongs>shall be <strongs number="1129">built</strongs><strongs number="7725">again</strongs>, and the <strongs number="2742">wall</strongs>, even in <strongs number="6695">troublous</strongs><strongs number="6256">times</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='26'>And <strongs number="310">after</strongs><strongs number="8346">threescore</strongs>and <strongs number="8147">two</strongs><strongs number="7620">weeks</strongs>shall <strongs number="4899">Messiah</strongs>be cut <strongs number="3772">off</strongs>, but <strongs number="369">not</strongs>for himself: and the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>of the <strongs number="5057">prince</strongs>that shall <strongs number="935">come</strongs>shall <strongs number="7843">destroy</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>and the <strongs number="6944">sanctuary</strongs>; and the <strongs number="7093">end</strongs>thereof <em> shall </em><em> be </em>with a <strongs number="7858">flood</strongs>, and <strongs number="5704">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="7093">end</strongs>of the <strongs number="4421">war</strongs><strongs number="8074">desolations</strongs>are <strongs number="2782">determined</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='27'>And he shall <strongs number="1396">confirm</strongs>the <strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs>with <strongs number="7227">many</strongs>for <strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="7620">week</strongs>: and in the <strongs number="2677">midst</strongs>of the <strongs number="7620">week</strongs>he shall cause the <strongs number="2077">sacrifice</strongs>and the <strongs number="4503">oblation</strongs>to <strongs number="7673">cease</strongs>, and <strongs number="5921">for</strongs>the <strongs number="3671">overspreading</strongs>of <strongs number="8251">abominations</strongs>he shall make <em> it </em><strongs number="8074">desolate</strongs>, even <strongs number="5704">until</strongs>the <strongs number="3617">consummation</strongs>, and that <strongs number="2782">determined</strongs>shall be <strongs number="5413">poured</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>the <strongs number="8076">desolate</strongs>. </verse>
