      <verse number='1'>Also <strongs number="589">I</strongs>in the <strongs number="259">first</strongs><strongs number="8141">year</strongs>of <strongs number="1867">Darius</strongs>the <strongs number="4075">Mede</strongs>, <em> even </em>I, <strongs number="5975">stood</strongs>to <strongs number="2388">confirm</strongs>and to <strongs number="4581">strengthen</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>And <strongs number="6258">now</strongs>will I <strongs number="5046">show</strongs>thee the <strongs number="571">truth</strongs>. <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, there shall stand <strongs number="5975">up</strongs><strongs number="5750">yet</strongs><strongs number="7969">three</strongs><strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>in <strongs number="6539">Persia</strongs>; and the <strongs number="7243">fourth</strongs>shall be far <strongs number="6238 1419 6239">richer</strongs>than <em> they </em><strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs>: and by his <strongs number="2393">strength</strongs>through his <strongs number="6239">riches</strongs>he shall stir <strongs number="5782">up</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="854">against</strongs>the <strongs number="4438">realm</strongs>of <strongs number="3120">Greece</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='4'>And when he shall stand <strongs number="5975">up</strongs>, his <strongs number="4438">kingdom</strongs>shall be <strongs number="7665">broken</strongs>, and shall be <strongs number="2673">divided</strongs>toward the <strongs number="702">four</strongs><strongs number="7307">winds</strongs>of <strongs number="8064">heaven</strongs>; and <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>to his <strongs number="319">posterity</strongs>, <strongs number="3808">nor</strongs>according to his <strongs number="4915">dominion</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>he <strongs number="4910">ruled</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>his <strongs number="4438">kingdom</strongs>shall be plucked <strongs number="5428">up</strongs>, even for <strongs number="312">others</strongs><strongs number="4480 905">beside</strongs><strongs number="428">those</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='8'>And shall <strongs number="1571">also</strongs><strongs number="935">carry</strongs><strongs number="7628">captives</strongs>into <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>their <strongs number="430">gods</strongs>, <strongs number="5973">with</strongs>their <strongs number="5257">princes</strongs>, <em> and </em><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>their <strongs number="2532">precious</strongs><strongs number="3627">vessels</strongs>of <strongs number="3701">silver</strongs>and of <strongs number="2091">gold</strongs>; and <strongs number="1931">he</strongs>shall <strongs number="5975">continue</strongs><em> more </em><strongs number="8141">years</strongs>than the <strongs number="4480 4428">king</strongs>of the <strongs number="6828">north</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>So the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of the <strongs number="5045">south</strongs>shall <strongs number="935">come</strongs>into <em> his </em><strongs number="4438">kingdom</strongs>, and shall <strongs number="7725">return</strongs><strongs number="413">into</strongs>his own <strongs number="127">land</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>But his <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>shall be stirred <strongs number="1624">up</strongs>, and shall <strongs number="622">assemble</strongs>a <strongs number="1995">multitude</strongs>of <strongs number="7227">great</strongs><strongs number="2428">forces</strongs>: and <em> one </em>shall certainly <strongs number="935 935">come</strongs>, and <strongs number="7857">overflow</strongs>, and pass <strongs number="5674">through</strongs>: then shall he <strongs number="7725">return</strongs>, and be stirred <strongs number="1624">up</strongs>, <em> even </em><strongs number="5704">to</strongs>his <strongs number="4581">fortress</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>And the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of the <strongs number="5045">south</strongs>shall be moved with <strongs number="4843">anger</strongs>, and shall come <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs>and <strongs number="3898">fight</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>him, <em> even </em><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of the <strongs number="6828">north</strongs>: and he shall set <strongs number="5975">forth</strongs>a <strongs number="7227">great</strongs><strongs number="1995">multitude</strongs>; but the <strongs number="1995">multitude</strongs>shall be <strongs number="5414">given</strongs>into his <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'><em> And </em>when he hath taken <strongs number="5375">away</strongs>the <strongs number="1995">multitude</strongs>, his <strongs number="3824">heart</strongs>shall be lifted <strongs number="7311">up</strongs>; and he shall cast <strongs number="5307">down</strongs><em> many </em>ten <strongs number="7239">thousands</strongs>: but he shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>be <strongs number="5810">strengthened</strongs><em> by </em><em> it </em>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>For the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of the <strongs number="6828">north</strongs>shall <strongs number="7725">return</strongs>, and shall set <strongs number="5975">forth</strongs>a <strongs number="1995">multitude</strongs><strongs number="7227">greater</strongs><strongs number="4480">than</strongs>the <strongs number="7223">former</strongs>, and shall certainly <strongs number="935 935">come</strongs><strongs number="7093">after</strongs><strongs number="6256">certain</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs>with a <strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="2428">army</strongs>and with <strongs number="7227">much</strongs><strongs number="7399">riches</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'>And in <strongs number="1992">those</strongs><strongs number="6256">times</strongs>there shall <strongs number="7227">many</strongs>stand <strongs number="5975">up</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of the <strongs number="5045">south</strongs>: also the <strongs number="1121 6530">robbers</strongs>of thy <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>shall exalt <strongs number="5375">themselves</strongs>to <strongs number="5975">establish</strongs>the <strongs number="2377">vision</strongs>; but they shall <strongs number="3782">fall</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>So the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of the <strongs number="6828">north</strongs>shall <strongs number="935">come</strongs>, and cast <strongs number="8210">up</strongs>a <strongs number="5550">mount</strongs>, and <strongs number="3920">take</strongs>the most <strongs number="4013">fenced</strongs><strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>: and the <strongs number="2220">arms</strongs>of the <strongs number="5045">south</strongs>shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5975">withstand</strongs>, neither his <strongs number="4005">chosen</strongs><strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, <strongs number="369">neither</strongs><em> shall </em><em> there </em><em> be </em><em> any </em><strongs number="3581">strength</strongs>to <strongs number="5975">withstand</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>But he that <strongs number="935">cometh</strongs><strongs number="413">against</strongs>him shall <strongs number="6213">do</strongs>according to his own <strongs number="7522">will</strongs>, and <strongs number="369">none</strongs>shall <strongs number="5975">stand</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>him: and he shall <strongs number="5975">stand</strongs>in the <strongs number="6643">glorious</strongs><strongs number="776">land</strongs>, which by his <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>shall be <strongs number="3615">consumed</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>He shall also <strongs number="7760">set</strongs>his <strongs number="6440">face</strongs>to <strongs number="935">enter</strongs>with the <strongs number="8633">strength</strongs>of his <strongs number="3605">whole</strongs><strongs number="4438">kingdom</strongs>, and upright <strongs number="3477">ones</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>him; thus shall he <strongs number="6213">do</strongs>: and he shall <strongs number="5414">give</strongs>him the <strongs number="1323">daughter</strongs>of <strongs number="802">women</strongs>, <strongs number="7843">corrupting</strongs>her: but she shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5975">stand</strongs><em> on </em><em> his </em><em> side </em>, <strongs number="3808">neither</strongs><strongs number="1961">be</strongs>for him. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>After this shall he <strongs number="7725">turn</strongs>his <strongs number="6440">face</strongs>unto the <strongs number="339">isles</strongs>, and shall <strongs number="3920">take</strongs><strongs number="7227">many</strongs>: but a <strongs number="7101">prince</strongs>for his own behalf shall cause the <strongs number="2781">reproach</strongs>offered by him to <strongs number="7673">cease</strongs>; <strongs number="1115">without</strongs>his own <strongs number="2781">reproach</strongs>he shall cause <em> it </em>to <strongs number="7725">turn</strongs>upon him. </verse>
      <verse number='19'>Then he shall <strongs number="7725">turn</strongs>his <strongs number="6440">face</strongs>toward the <strongs number="4581">fort</strongs>of his own <strongs number="776">land</strongs>: but he shall <strongs number="3782">stumble</strongs>and <strongs number="5307">fall</strongs>, and <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>be <strongs number="4672">found</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='20'>Then shall stand <strongs number="5975">up</strongs><strongs number="5921">in</strongs>his <strongs number="3653">estate</strongs>a <strongs number="5674">raiser</strongs>of <strongs number="5065">taxes</strongs><em> in </em>the <strongs number="1925">glory</strongs>of the <strongs number="4438">kingdom</strongs>: but within <strongs number="259">few</strongs><strongs number="3117">days</strongs>he shall be <strongs number="7665">destroyed</strongs>, <strongs number="3808">neither</strongs>in <strongs number="639">anger</strongs>, <strongs number="3808">nor</strongs>in <strongs number="4421">battle</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='21'>And <strongs number="5921">in</strongs>his <strongs number="3653">estate</strongs>shall stand <strongs number="5975">up</strongs>a vile <strongs number="959">person</strongs>, <strongs number="5921">to</strongs>whom they shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5414">give</strongs>the <strongs number="1935">honor</strongs>of the <strongs number="4438">kingdom</strongs>: but he shall come <strongs number="935">in</strongs><strongs number="7962">peaceably</strongs>, and <strongs number="2388">obtain</strongs>the <strongs number="4438">kingdom</strongs>by <strongs number="2519">flatteries</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='22'>And with the <strongs number="2220">arms</strongs>of a <strongs number="7858">flood</strongs>shall they be <strongs number="7857">overflown</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 6440">before</strongs>him, and shall be <strongs number="7665">broken</strongs>; yea, <strongs number="1571">also</strongs>the <strongs number="5057">prince</strongs>of the <strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='23'>And <strongs number="4480">after</strongs>the <strongs number="2266">league</strongs><em> made </em><strongs number="413">with</strongs>him he shall <strongs number="6213">work</strongs><strongs number="4820">deceitfully</strongs>: for he shall come <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>, and shall become <strongs number="6105">strong</strongs>with a <strongs number="4592">small</strongs><strongs number="1471">people</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='24'>He shall <strongs number="935">enter</strongs><strongs number="7962">peaceably</strongs>even upon the fattest <strongs number="4924">places</strongs>of the <strongs number="4082">province</strongs>; and he shall <strongs number="6213">do</strongs><em> that </em><strongs number="834">which</strongs>his <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>have <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="6213">done</strongs>, nor his <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>' <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>; he shall <strongs number="967">scatter</strongs>among them the <strongs number="961">prey</strongs>, and <strongs number="7998">spoil</strongs>, and <strongs number="7399">riches</strongs>: <em> yea </em>, and he shall <strongs number="2803">forecast</strongs>his <strongs number="4284">devices</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>the <strongs number="4013">strongholds</strongs>, even <strongs number="5704">for</strongs>a <strongs number="6256">time</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='25'>And he shall stir <strongs number="5782">up</strongs>his <strongs number="3581">power</strongs>and his <strongs number="3824">courage</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of the <strongs number="5045">south</strongs>with a <strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="2428">army</strongs>; and the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of the <strongs number="5045">south</strongs>shall be stirred <strongs number="1624">up</strongs>to <strongs number="4421">battle</strongs>with a <strongs number="5704 3966">very</strongs><strongs number="1419">great</strongs>and <strongs number="6099">mighty</strongs><strongs number="2428">army</strongs>; but he shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5975">stand</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>they shall <strongs number="2803">forecast</strongs><strongs number="4284">devices</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='26'>Yea, they that <strongs number="398">feed</strongs>of the portion of his <strongs number="6598">meat</strongs>shall <strongs number="7665">destroy</strongs>him, and his <strongs number="2428">army</strongs>shall <strongs number="7857">overflow</strongs>: and <strongs number="7227">many</strongs>shall fall <strongs number="5307">down</strongs><strongs number="2491">slain</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='27'>And <strongs number="8147">both</strongs>these <strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>' <strongs number="3824">hearts</strongs><em> shall </em><em> be </em>to do <strongs number="4827">mischief</strongs>, and they shall <strongs number="1696">speak</strongs><strongs number="3577">lies</strongs><strongs number="5921">at</strongs><strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="7979">table</strongs>; but it shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="6743">prosper</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="5750">yet</strongs>the <strongs number="7093">end</strongs><em> shall </em><em> be </em>at the time <strongs number="4150">appointed</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='28'>Then shall he <strongs number="7725">return</strongs>into his <strongs number="776">land</strongs>with <strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="7399">riches</strongs>; and his <strongs number="3824">heart</strongs><em> shall </em><em> be </em><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>the <strongs number="6944">holy</strongs><strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs>; and he shall <strongs number="6213">do</strongs><em> exploits </em>, and <strongs number="7725">return</strongs>to his own <strongs number="776">land</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='29'>At the time <strongs number="4150">appointed</strongs>he shall <strongs number="7725">return</strongs>, and <strongs number="935">come</strongs>toward the <strongs number="5045">south</strongs>; but it shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="1961">be</strongs>as the <strongs number="7223">former</strongs>, or as the <strongs number="314">latter</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='30'>For the <strongs number="6716">ships</strongs>of <strongs number="3794">Chittim</strongs>shall <strongs number="935">come</strongs>against him: therefore he shall be <strongs number="3512">grieved</strongs>, and <strongs number="7725">return</strongs>, and have <strongs number="2194">indignation</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>the <strongs number="6944">holy</strongs><strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs>: so shall he <strongs number="6213">do</strongs>; he shall even <strongs number="7725">return</strongs>, and have <strongs number="995">intelligence</strongs><strongs number="5921">with</strongs>them that <strongs number="5800">forsake</strongs>the <strongs number="6944">holy</strongs><strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='31'>And <strongs number="2220">arms</strongs>shall <strongs number="5975">stand</strongs>on his <strongs number="4480">part</strongs>, and they shall <strongs number="2490">pollute</strongs>the <strongs number="4720">sanctuary</strongs>of <strongs number="4581">strength</strongs>, and shall take <strongs number="5493">away</strongs>the <strongs number="8548">daily</strongs><em> sacrifice </em>, and they shall <strongs number="5414">place</strongs>the <strongs number="8251">abomination</strongs>that maketh <strongs number="8074">desolate</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='32'>And such as do wickedly <strongs number="7561">against</strongs>the <strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs>shall he <strongs number="2610">corrupt</strongs>by <strongs number="2514">flatteries</strongs>: but the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>that do <strongs number="3045">know</strongs>their <strongs number="430">God</strongs>shall be <strongs number="2388">strong</strongs>, and <strongs number="6213">do</strongs><em> exploits </em>. </verse>
      <verse number='33'>And they that <strongs number="7919">understand</strongs>among the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>shall <strongs number="995">instruct</strongs><strongs number="7227">many</strongs>: yet they shall <strongs number="3782">fall</strongs>by the <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>, and by <strongs number="3852">flame</strongs>, by <strongs number="7628">captivity</strongs>, and by <strongs number="961">spoil</strongs>, <em> many </em><strongs number="3117">days</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='34'>Now when they shall <strongs number="3782">fall</strongs>, they shall be <strongs number="5826">helped</strongs>with a <strongs number="4592">little</strongs><strongs number="5828">help</strongs>: but <strongs number="7227">many</strongs>shall <strongs number="3867">cleave</strongs><strongs number="5921">to</strongs>them with <strongs number="2519">flatteries</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='35'>And <em> some </em><strongs number="4480">of</strongs>them of <strongs number="7919">understanding</strongs>shall <strongs number="3782">fall</strongs>, to <strongs number="6884">try</strongs>them, and to <strongs number="1305">purge</strongs>, and to make <em> them </em><strongs number="3835">white</strongs>, <em> even </em><strongs number="5704">to</strongs>the <strongs number="6256">time</strongs>of the <strongs number="7093">end</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">because</strongs><em> it </em><em> is </em><strongs number="5750">yet</strongs>for a time <strongs number="4150">appointed</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='38'>But <strongs number="5921">in</strongs>his <strongs number="3653">estate</strongs>shall he <strongs number="3513">honor</strongs>the <strongs number="433">God</strongs>of <strongs number="4581">forces</strongs>: and a <strongs number="433">god</strongs><strongs number="834">whom</strongs>his <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs><strongs number="3045">knew</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>shall he <strongs number="3513">honor</strongs>with <strongs number="2091">gold</strongs>, and <strongs number="3701">silver</strongs>, and with <strongs number="3368">precious</strongs><strongs number="68">stones</strongs>, and pleasant <strongs number="2530">things</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='40'>And at the <strongs number="6256">time</strongs>of the <strongs number="7093">end</strongs>shall the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of the <strongs number="5045">south</strongs><strongs number="5055">push</strongs><strongs number="5973">at</strongs>him: and the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of the <strongs number="6828">north</strongs>shall come against him like a <strongs number="8175 5921">whirlwind</strongs>, with <strongs number="7393">chariots</strongs>, and with <strongs number="6571">horsemen</strongs>, and with <strongs number="7227">many</strongs><strongs number="591">ships</strongs>; and he shall <strongs number="935">enter</strongs>into the <strongs number="776">countries</strongs>, and shall <strongs number="7857">overflow</strongs>and pass <strongs number="5674">over</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='41'>He shall <strongs number="935">enter</strongs>also into the <strongs number="6643">glorious</strongs><strongs number="776">land</strongs>, and <strongs number="7227">many</strongs><em> countries </em>shall be <strongs number="3782">overthrown</strongs>: but <strongs number="428">these</strongs>shall <strongs number="4422">escape</strongs>out of his <strongs number="4480 3027">hand</strongs>, <em> even </em><strongs number="123">Edom</strongs>, and <strongs number="4124">Moab</strongs>, and the <strongs number="7225">chief</strongs>of the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="5983">Ammon</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='42'>He shall stretch <strongs number="7971">forth</strongs>his <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>also upon the <strongs number="776">countries</strongs>: and the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="1961 6413">escape</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='43'>But he shall have <strongs number="4910">power</strongs>over the <strongs number="4362">treasures</strongs>of <strongs number="2091">gold</strongs>and of <strongs number="3701">silver</strongs>, and over <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the precious <strongs number="2530">things</strongs>of <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>: and the <strongs number="3864">Libyans</strongs>and the <strongs number="3569">Ethiopians</strongs><em> shall </em><em> be </em>at his <strongs number="4703">steps</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='44'>But <strongs number="8052">tidings</strongs>out of the <strongs number="4480 4217">east</strongs>and out of the <strongs number="4480 6828">north</strongs>shall <strongs number="926">trouble</strongs>him: therefore he shall go <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs>with <strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="2534">fury</strongs>to <strongs number="8045">destroy</strongs>, and utterly to make <strongs number="2763">away</strongs><strongs number="7227">many</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='45'>And he shall <strongs number="5193">plant</strongs>the <strongs number="168">tabernacles</strongs>of his <strongs number="643">palace</strongs><strongs number="996">between</strongs>the <strongs number="3220">seas</strongs>in the <strongs number="6643">glorious</strongs><strongs number="6944">holy</strongs><strongs number="2022">mountain</strongs>; yet he shall <strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="5704">to</strongs>his <strongs number="7093">end</strongs>, and <strongs number="369">none</strongs>shall <strongs number="5826">help</strongs>him. </verse>
