      <verse number='2'>Therefore <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="7592">inquired</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, Shall I <strongs number="1980">go</strongs>and <strongs number="5221">smite</strongs><strongs number="428">these</strongs><strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>? And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, <strongs number="1980">Go</strongs>, and <strongs number="5221">smite</strongs>the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>, and <strongs number="3467">save</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="7084">Keilah</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='4'>Then <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="7592">inquired</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="5750">yet</strongs><strongs number="3254">again</strongs>. And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="6030">answered</strongs>him and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="6965">Arise</strongs>, go <strongs number="3381">down</strongs>to <strongs number="7084">Keilah</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="589">I</strongs>will <strongs number="5414">deliver</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>into thine <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>So <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>and his <strongs number="376">men</strongs><strongs number="1980">went</strongs>to <strongs number="7084">Keilah</strongs>, and <strongs number="3898">fought</strongs>with the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>, and brought <strongs number="5090">away</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>their <strongs number="4735">cattle</strongs>, and <strongs number="5221">smote</strongs>them with a <strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="4347">slaughter</strongs>. So <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="3467">saved</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3427">inhabitants</strongs>of <strongs number="7084">Keilah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, when <strongs number="54">Abiathar</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="288">Ahimelech</strongs><strongs number="1272">fled</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>to <strongs number="7084">Keilah</strongs>, <em> that </em>he came <strongs number="3381">down</strongs><em> with </em>an <strongs number="646">ephod</strongs>in his <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>And it was <strongs number="5046">told</strongs><strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>was <strongs number="935">come</strongs>to <strongs number="7084">Keilah</strongs>. And <strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="430">God</strongs>hath <strongs number="5234">delivered</strongs>him into mine <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>he is shut <strongs number="5462">in</strongs>, by <strongs number="935">entering</strongs>into a <strongs number="5892">town</strongs>that hath <strongs number="1817">gates</strongs>and <strongs number="1280">bars</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>And <strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs><strongs number="8085">called</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>together to <strongs number="4421">war</strongs>, to go <strongs number="3381">down</strongs>to <strongs number="7084">Keilah</strongs>, to <strongs number="6696 413">besiege</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>and his <strongs number="376">men</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="3045">knew</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>secretly <strongs number="2790">practiced</strongs><strongs number="7451">mischief</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>him; and he <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="54">Abiathar</strongs>the <strongs number="3548">priest</strongs>, Bring <strongs number="5066">hither</strongs>the <strongs number="646">ephod</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>Then <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, O <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, thy <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs>hath certainly <strongs number="8085 8085">heard</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs><strongs number="1245">seeketh</strongs>to <strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="7084">Keilah</strongs>, to <strongs number="7843">destroy</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>for my <strongs number="5668">sake</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>Will the <strongs number="1167">men</strongs>of <strongs number="7084">Keilah</strongs>deliver me <strongs number="5462">up</strongs>into his <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>? will <strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>come <strongs number="3381">down</strongs>, <strongs number="834">as</strongs>thy <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs>hath <strongs number="8085">heard</strongs>? O <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, I beseech <strongs number="4994">thee</strongs>, <strongs number="5046">tell</strongs>thy <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs>. And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, He will come <strongs number="3381">down</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>Then <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, Will the <strongs number="1167">men</strongs>of <strongs number="7084">Keilah</strongs><strongs number="5462">deliver</strongs>me and my <strongs number="376">men</strongs>into the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of <strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>? And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, They will deliver <em> thee </em><strongs number="5462">up</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>Then <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>and his <strongs number="376">men</strongs>, <em> which </em><em> were </em>about <strongs number="8337">six</strongs><strongs number="3967 *376">hundred</strongs>, <strongs number="6965">arose</strongs>and <strongs number="3318">departed</strongs>out of <strongs number="4480 7084">Keilah</strongs>, and <strongs number="1980">went</strongs><strongs number="834">whithersoever</strongs>they could <strongs number="1980">go</strongs>. And it was <strongs number="5046">told</strongs><strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>was <strongs number="4422">escaped</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 7084">Keilah</strongs>; and he <strongs number="2308">forbore</strongs>to go <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="3427">abode</strongs>in the <strongs number="4057">wilderness</strongs>in <strongs number="4679">strongholds</strongs>, and <strongs number="3427">remained</strongs>in a <strongs number="2022">mountain</strongs>in the <strongs number="4057">wilderness</strongs>of <strongs number="2128">Ziph</strongs>. And <strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs><strongs number="1245">sought</strongs>him <strongs number="3605">every</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>, but <strongs number="430">God</strongs><strongs number="5414">delivered</strongs>him <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>into his <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>was come <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>to <strongs number="1245">seek</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>his <strongs number="5315">life</strongs>: and <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><em> was </em>in the <strongs number="4057">wilderness</strongs>of <strongs number="2128">Ziph</strongs>in a <strongs number="2793">wood</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>And <strongs number="3083">Jonathan</strongs><strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>'s <strongs number="1121">son</strongs><strongs number="6965">arose</strongs>, and <strongs number="1980">went</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>into the <strongs number="2793">wood</strongs>, and <strongs number="2388">strengthened</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>his <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>in <strongs number="430">God</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, <strongs number="3372">Fear</strongs><strongs number="408">not</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of <strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>my <strongs number="1">father</strongs>shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="4672">find</strongs>thee; and <strongs number="859">thou</strongs>shalt be <strongs number="4427">king</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, and <strongs number="595">I</strongs>shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs><strongs number="4932">next</strongs>unto thee; and <strongs number="3651">that</strongs><strongs number="1571">also</strongs><strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>my <strongs number="1">father</strongs><strongs number="3045">knoweth</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>And they <strongs number="8147">two</strongs><strongs number="3772">made</strongs>a <strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>: and <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="3427">abode</strongs>in the <strongs number="2793">wood</strongs>, and <strongs number="3083">Jonathan</strongs><strongs number="1980">went</strongs>to his <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='19'>Then came <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>the <strongs number="2130">Ziphites</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>to <strongs number="1390">Gibeah</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, Doth <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>hide <strongs number="5641">himself</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>us in <strongs number="4679">strongholds</strongs>in the <strongs number="2793">wood</strongs>, in the <strongs number="1389">hill</strongs>of <strongs number="2444">Hachilah</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs><em> is </em>on the <strongs number="4480 3225">south</strongs>of <strongs number="3452">Jeshimon</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='20'><strongs number="6258">Now</strongs>therefore, O <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, come <strongs number="3381">down</strongs>according to <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="185">desire</strongs>of thy <strongs number="5315">soul</strongs>to come <strongs number="3381">down</strongs>; and our part <em> shall </em><em> be </em>to <strongs number="5462">deliver</strongs>him into the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>'s <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='21'>And <strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="1288">Blessed</strongs><em> be </em><strongs number="859">ye</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>ye have <strongs number="2550">compassion</strongs><strongs number="5921">on</strongs>me. </verse>
      <verse number='22'><strongs number="1980">Go</strongs>, I pray <strongs number="4994">you</strongs>, <strongs number="3559">prepare</strongs><strongs number="5750">yet</strongs>, and <strongs number="3045">know</strongs>and <strongs number="7200">see</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>his <strongs number="4725">place</strongs><strongs number="834">where</strongs>his <strongs number="7272">haunt</strongs><strongs number="1961">is</strongs>, <em> and </em><strongs number="4310">who</strongs>hath <strongs number="7200">seen</strongs>him <strongs number="8033">there</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>it is <strongs number="559 413">told</strongs>me <em> that </em><strongs number="1931">he</strongs>dealeth very <strongs number="6191 6191">subtlely</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='25'><strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>also and his <strongs number="376">men</strongs><strongs number="1980">went</strongs>to <strongs number="1245">seek</strongs><em> him </em>.
