      <verse number='2'><strongs number="7535">Only</strongs><strongs number="4616">that</strongs>the <strongs number="1755">generations</strongs>of the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>might <strongs number="3045">know</strongs>, to <strongs number="3925">teach</strongs>them <strongs number="4421">war</strongs>, at the <strongs number="7535">least</strongs>such <strongs number="834">as</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs><strongs number="3045">knew</strongs><strongs number="3808">nothing</strongs>thereof; </verse>
      <verse number='3'><em> Namely </em>, <strongs number="2568">five</strongs><strongs number="5633">lords</strongs>of the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="3669">Canaanites</strongs>, and the <strongs number="6722">Sidonians</strongs>, and the <strongs number="2340">Hivites</strongs>that <strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs>in <strongs number="2022">mount</strongs><strongs number="3844">Lebanon</strongs>, from <strongs number="4480 2022">mount</strongs><strongs number="1179">Baal</strongs>-hermon <strongs number="5704">unto</strongs>the entering <strongs number="935">in</strongs>of <strongs number="2574">Hamath</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>And they <strongs number="1961">were</strongs>to <strongs number="5254">prove</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>by them, to <strongs number="3045">know</strongs>whether they would <strongs number="8085">hearken</strongs>unto <strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4687">commandments</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs>he <strongs number="6680">commanded</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>their <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>by the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of <strongs number="4872">Moses</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>And the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs><strongs number="7130">among</strongs>the <strongs number="3669">Canaanites</strongs>, <strongs number="2850">Hittites</strongs>, and <strongs number="567">Amorites</strongs>, and <strongs number="6522">Perizzites</strongs>, and <strongs number="2340">Hivites</strongs>, and <strongs number="2983">Jebusites</strongs>: </verse>

      <verse number='8'>Therefore the <strongs number="639">anger</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>was <strongs number="2734">hot</strongs>against <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, and he <strongs number="4376">sold</strongs>them into the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of <strongs number="3573">Cushan</strongs>-rishathaim <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="763">Mesopotamia</strongs>: and the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="5647">served</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3573">Cushan</strongs>-rishathaim <strongs number="8083">eight</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='13'>And he <strongs number="622">gathered</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him <strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="5983">Ammon</strongs>and <strongs number="6002">Amalek</strongs>, and <strongs number="1980">went</strongs>and <strongs number="5221">smote</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, and <strongs number="3423">possessed</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>of palm <strongs number="8558">trees</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'>So the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="5647">served</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="5700">Eglon</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="4124">Moab</strongs><strongs number="8083 6240">eighteen</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>But when the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="2199">cried</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>raised them <strongs number="6965">up</strongs>a <strongs number="3467">deliverer</strongs>, <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="261">Ehud</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="1617">Gera</strongs>, a <strongs number="1121 1145">Benjamite</strongs>, a <strongs number="376">man</strongs><strongs number="334 3027 3225">left</strongs>-handed: and by <strongs number="3027">him</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs>a <strongs number="4503">present</strongs>unto <strongs number="5700">Eglon</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="4124">Moab</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>But <strongs number="261">Ehud</strongs><strongs number="6213">made</strongs>him a <strongs number="2719">dagger</strongs>which had <strongs number="8147">two</strongs><strongs number="6366">edges</strongs>, of a <strongs number="1574">cubit</strongs><strongs number="753">length</strongs>; and he did <strongs number="2296">gird</strongs>it <strongs number="4480 8478">under</strongs>his <strongs number="4055">raiment</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>his <strongs number="3225">right</strongs><strongs number="3409">thigh</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>And he <strongs number="7126">brought</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4503">present</strongs>unto <strongs number="5700">Eglon</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="4124">Moab</strongs>: and <strongs number="5700">Eglon</strongs><em> was </em>a <strongs number="3966">very</strongs><strongs number="1277">fat</strongs><strongs number="376">man</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>And <strongs number="834">when</strongs>he had made an <strongs number="3615">end</strongs>to <strongs number="7126">offer</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4503">present</strongs>, he sent <strongs number="7971">away</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>that <strongs number="5375">bore</strongs>the <strongs number="4503">present</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='19'>But <strongs number="1931">he</strongs>himself turned <strongs number="7725">again</strongs><strongs number="4480">from</strongs>the <strongs number="6456">quarries</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> were </em><strongs number="854">by</strongs><strongs number="1537">Gilgal</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, I have a <strongs number="5643">secret</strongs><strongs number="1697">errand</strongs>unto thee, O <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>: who <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, Keep <strongs number="2013">silence</strongs>.       <verse number='20'>And <strongs number="261">Ehud</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him; and <strongs number="1931">he</strongs>was <strongs number="3427">sitting</strongs>in a <strongs number="4747">summer</strongs><strongs number="5944">parlor</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs>he had for himself <strongs number="905">alone</strongs>. And <strongs number="261">Ehud</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, I have a <strongs number="1697">message</strongs>from <strongs number="430">God</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>thee.       <verse number='23'>Then <strongs number="261">Ehud</strongs>went <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs>through the <strongs number="4528">porch</strongs>, and <strongs number="5462">shut</strongs>the <strongs number="1817">doors</strongs>of the <strongs number="5944">parlor</strongs>upon <strongs number="1157">him</strongs>, and <strongs number="5274">locked</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='24'>When <strongs number="1931">he</strongs>was gone <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>, his <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs>; and when they <strongs number="7200">saw</strongs>that, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, the <strongs number="1817">doors</strongs>of the <strongs number="5944">parlor</strongs><em> were </em><strongs number="5274">locked</strongs>, they <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="389">Surely</strongs><strongs number="1931">he</strongs><strongs number="5526">covereth</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>his <strongs number="7272">feet</strongs>in his <strongs number="4747">summer</strongs><strongs number="2315">chamber</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='27'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, when he was <strongs number="935">come</strongs>, that he <strongs number="8628">blew</strongs>a <strongs number="7782">trumpet</strongs>in the <strongs number="2022">mountain</strongs>of <strongs number="669">Ephraim</strongs>, and the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>went <strongs number="3381">down</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>him <strongs number="4480">from</strongs>the <strongs number="2022">mount</strongs>, and <strongs number="1931">he</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>them. </verse>

      <verse number='30'>So <strongs number="4124">Moab</strongs>was <strongs number="3665">subdued</strongs><strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs><strongs number="8478">under</strongs>the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. And the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>had <strongs number="8252">rest</strongs><strongs number="8084">fourscore</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs>. </verse>
