      <verse number='2'><strongs number="5485">Grace</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="1515">peace</strongs>be <strongs number="4129">multiplied</strongs>unto <strongs number="5213">you</strongs><strongs number="1722">through</strongs>the <strongs number="1922">knowledge</strongs>of <strongs number="2316">God</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs>of <strongs number="2424">Jesus</strongs><strongs number="2257">our</strongs><strongs number="2962">Lord</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='3'>According <strongs number="5613">as</strongs><strongs number="846">his</strongs><strongs number="2304">divine</strongs><strongs number="1411">power</strongs>hath <strongs number="1433">given</strongs>unto <strongs number="2254">us</strongs>all <strongs number="3956">things</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs><em> pertain </em><strongs number="4314">unto</strongs><strongs number="2222">life</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="2150">godliness</strongs>, <strongs number="1223">through</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="1922">knowledge</strongs>of him that hath <strongs number="2564">called</strongs><strongs number="2248">us</strongs><strongs number="1223">to</strongs><strongs number="1391">glory</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="703">virtue</strongs>: </verse>

      <verse number='6'><strongs number="1161">And</strongs><strongs number="1722">to</strongs><strongs number="1108">knowledge</strongs><strongs number="1466">temperance</strongs>; <strongs number="1161">and</strongs><strongs number="1722">to</strongs><strongs number="1466">temperance</strongs><strongs number="5281">patience</strongs>; <strongs number="1161">and</strongs><strongs number="1722">to</strongs><strongs number="5281">patience</strongs><strongs number="2150">godliness</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='7'><strongs number="1161">And</strongs><strongs number="1722">to</strongs><strongs number="2150">godliness</strongs>brotherly <strongs number="5360">kindness</strongs>; <strongs number="1161">and</strongs><strongs number="1722">to</strongs>brotherly <strongs number="5360">kindness</strongs><strongs number="26">charity</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='8'><strongs number="1063">For</strongs>if these <strongs number="5023">things</strongs><strongs number="5225">be</strongs>in <strongs number="5213">you</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="4121">abound</strongs>, they <strongs number="2525">make</strongs><em> you </em><em> that </em><em> ye </em><em> shall </em><strongs number="3756">neither</strongs><em> be </em><strongs number="692">barren</strongs><strongs number="3761">nor</strongs><strongs number="175">unfruitful</strongs><strongs number="1519">in</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="1922">knowledge</strongs>of <strongs number="2257">our</strongs><strongs number="2962">Lord</strongs><strongs number="2424">Jesus</strongs><strongs number="5547">Christ</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'><strongs number="1063">But</strongs><strongs number="3739">he</strongs>that <strongs number="3918 3361">lacketh</strongs>these <strongs number="5023">things</strongs><strongs number="2076">is</strongs><strongs number="5185">blind</strongs>, and cannot see afar <strongs number="3467">off</strongs>, and hath <strongs number="2983 3024">forgotten</strongs>that he was <strongs number="2512">purged</strongs>from <strongs number="848">his</strongs><strongs number="3819">old</strongs><strongs number="266">sins</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'><strongs number="1352">Wherefore</strongs>the <strongs number="3123">rather</strongs>, <strongs number="80">brethren</strongs>, give <strongs number="4704">diligence</strongs>to <strongs number="4160">make</strongs><strongs number="5216">your</strongs><strongs number="2821">calling</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="1589">election</strongs><strongs number="949">sure</strongs>: <strongs number="1063">for</strongs>if ye <strongs number="4160">do</strongs>these <strongs number="5023">things</strongs>, ye shall <strongs number="3364 4218">never</strongs><strongs number="4417">fall</strongs>: </verse>

      <verse number='12'><strongs number="1352">Wherefore</strongs>I will <strongs number="3756">not</strongs>be <strongs number="272">negligent</strongs>to put you always in <strongs number="5279 5209 104">remembrance</strongs><strongs number="4012">of</strongs>these <strongs number="5130">things</strongs>, <strongs number="2539">though</strongs>ye <strongs number="1492">know</strongs><em> them, </em><strongs number="2532">and</strongs>be <strongs number="4741">established</strongs><strongs number="1722">in</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="3918">present</strongs><strongs number="225">truth</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'><strongs number="1161">Yea</strongs>, I <strongs number="2233">think</strongs>it <strongs number="1342">meet</strongs>, as long <strongs number="1909 3745">as</strongs>I <strongs number="1510">am</strongs><strongs number="1722">in</strongs><strongs number="5129">this</strongs><strongs number="4638">tabernacle</strongs>, to stir you <strongs number="1326 5209">up</strongs>by putting <em> you </em>in <strongs number="1722 5280">remembrance</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='14'><strongs number="1492">Knowing</strongs><strongs number="3754">that</strongs><strongs number="5031">shortly</strongs>I <strongs number="2076">must</strongs>put <strongs number="595">off</strongs><em> this </em><strongs number="3450">my</strongs><strongs number="4638">tabernacle</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">even</strongs><strongs number="2531">as</strongs><strongs number="2257">our</strongs><strongs number="2962">Lord</strongs><strongs number="2424">Jesus</strongs><strongs number="5547">Christ</strongs>hath <strongs number="1213">showed</strongs><strongs number="3427">me</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'><strongs number="1161">Moreover</strongs>I will <strongs number="4704">endeavor</strongs><strongs number="*2532">that</strongs><strongs number="5209">ye</strongs>may be able <strongs number="3326">after</strongs><strongs number="1699">my</strongs><strongs number="1841">decease</strongs>to <strongs number="2192">have</strongs>these <strongs number="5130">things</strongs><strongs number="1539">always</strongs>in <strongs number="4160 3420">remembrance</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'><strongs number="1063">For</strongs>we have <strongs number="3756">not</strongs><strongs number="1811">followed</strongs>cunningly <strongs number="4679">devised</strongs><strongs number="3454">fables</strongs>, when we made <strongs number="1107">known</strongs>unto <strongs number="5213">you</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="1411">power</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="3952">coming</strongs>of <strongs number="2257">our</strongs><strongs number="2962">Lord</strongs><strongs number="2424">Jesus</strongs><strongs number="5547">Christ</strongs>, <strongs number="235">but</strongs><strongs number="1096">were</strongs><strongs number="2030">eyewitnesses</strongs>of <strongs number="1565">his</strongs><strongs number="3168">majesty</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'><strongs number="1063">For</strongs>he <strongs number="2983">received</strongs><strongs number="3844">from</strongs><strongs number="2316">God</strongs>the <strongs number="3962">Father</strongs><strongs number="5092">honor</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="1391">glory</strongs>, when there <strongs number="5342">came</strongs><strongs number="5107">such</strongs>a <strongs number="5456">voice</strongs>to <strongs number="846">him</strongs><strongs number="5259">from</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="3169">excellent</strongs><strongs number="1391">glory</strongs>, <strongs number="3778">This</strongs><strongs number="2076">is</strongs><strongs number="3450">my</strongs><strongs number="27">beloved</strongs><strongs number="5207">Son</strongs>, <strongs number="1519">in</strongs><strongs number="3739">whom</strongs><strongs number="1473">I</strongs>am well <strongs number="2106">pleased</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'><strongs number="2532">And</strongs><strongs number="5026">this</strongs><strongs number="5456">voice</strongs>which <strongs number="5342">came</strongs><strongs number="1537">from</strongs><strongs number="3772">heaven</strongs><strongs number="2249">we</strongs><strongs number="191">heard</strongs>, when we <strongs number="5607">were</strongs><strongs number="4862">with</strongs><strongs number="846">him</strongs><strongs number="1722">in</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="40">holy</strongs><strongs number="3735">mount</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='20'><strongs number="1097">Knowing</strongs><strongs number="5124">this</strongs><strongs number="4412">first</strongs>, <strongs number="3754">that</strongs><strongs number="3956 3756">no</strongs><strongs number="4394">prophecy</strongs>of the <strongs number="1124">Scripture</strongs><strongs number="1096">is</strongs>of any <strongs number="2398">private</strongs><strongs number="1955">interpretation</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='21'><strongs number="1063">For</strongs>the <strongs number="4394">prophecy</strongs><strongs number="5342">came</strongs><strongs number="3756">not</strongs>in old <strongs number="4218">time</strongs>by the <strongs number="2307">will</strongs>of <strongs number="444">man</strongs>: <strongs number="235">but</strongs><strongs number="40">holy</strongs><strongs number="444">men</strongs>of <strongs number="2316">God</strongs><strongs number="2980">spake</strongs><em> as </em><em> they </em><em> were </em><strongs number="5342">moved</strongs><strongs number="5259">by</strongs>the <strongs number="40">Holy</strongs><strongs number="4151">Ghost</strongs>. </verse>
