      <verse number='1'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>a <strongs number="7227">long</strongs><strongs number="4480 3117">time</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>had given <strongs number="5117">rest</strongs>unto <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs>their <strongs number="341">enemies</strongs>round <strongs number="4480 5439">about</strongs>, that <strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs>waxed <strongs number="2204">old</strongs><em> and </em><strongs number="935">stricken</strongs>in <strongs number="3117">age</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>And <strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs><strongs number="7121">called</strongs>for <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <em> and </em>for their <strongs number="2205">elders</strongs>, and for their <strongs number="7218">heads</strongs>, and for their <strongs number="8199">judges</strongs>, and for their <strongs number="7860">officers</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>them, <strongs number="589">I</strongs>am <strongs number="2204">old</strongs><em> and </em><strongs number="935">stricken</strongs>in <strongs number="3117">age</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='3'>And <strongs number="859">ye</strongs>have <strongs number="7200">seen</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>your <strongs number="430">God</strongs>hath <strongs number="6213">done</strongs>unto <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="428">these</strongs><strongs number="1471">nations</strongs><strongs number="4480 6440">because</strongs>of you; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>your <strongs number="430">God</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="1931">he</strongs>that hath <strongs number="3898">fought</strongs>for you. </verse>
      <verse number='4'><strongs number="7200">Behold</strongs>, I have divided unto you by <strongs number="5307">lot</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="428">these</strongs><strongs number="1471">nations</strongs>that <strongs number="7604">remain</strongs>, to be an <strongs number="5159">inheritance</strongs>for your <strongs number="7626">tribes</strongs>, <strongs number="4480">from</strongs><strongs number="3383">Jordan</strongs>, with <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="1471">nations</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>I have cut <strongs number="3772">off</strongs>, even unto the <strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="3220">sea</strongs><strongs number="3996 8121">westward</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>your <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, <strongs number="1931">he</strongs>shall <strongs number="1920">expel</strongs>them from <strongs number="4480 6440">before</strongs>you, and <strongs number="3423">drive</strongs>them from out of your <strongs number="4480 6440">sight</strongs>; and ye shall <strongs number="3423">possess</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>their <strongs number="776">land</strongs>, <strongs number="834">as</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>your <strongs number="430">God</strongs>hath <strongs number="1696">promised</strongs>unto you. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>Be ye therefore <strongs number="3966">very</strongs><strongs number="2388">courageous</strongs>to <strongs number="8104">keep</strongs>and to <strongs number="6213">do</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>that is <strongs number="3789">written</strongs>in the <strongs number="5612">book</strongs>of the <strongs number="8451">law</strongs>of <strongs number="4872">Moses</strongs>, that ye <strongs number="5493">turn</strongs><strongs number="1115">not</strongs><strongs number="5493">aside</strongs><strongs number="4480">therefrom</strongs><em> to </em>the right <strongs number="3225">hand</strongs>or <em> to </em>the <strongs number="8040">left</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='7'>That ye <strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="1115">not</strongs>among <strongs number="428">these</strongs><strongs number="1471">nations</strongs>, <strongs number="428">these</strongs>that <strongs number="7604">remain</strongs>among you; <strongs number="3808">neither</strongs>make <strongs number="2142">mention</strongs>of the <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>of their <strongs number="430">gods</strongs>, <strongs number="3808">nor</strongs>cause to <strongs number="7650">swear</strongs><em> by </em><em> them </em>, <strongs number="3808">neither</strongs><strongs number="5647">serve</strongs>them, <strongs number="3808">nor</strongs>bow <strongs number="7812">yourselves</strongs>unto them: </verse>
      <verse number='8'><strongs number="3588 518">But</strongs><strongs number="1692">cleave</strongs>unto the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>your <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, <strongs number="834">as</strongs>ye have <strongs number="6213">done</strongs><strongs number="5704">unto</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>For the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>hath driven <strongs number="3423">out</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 6440">before</strongs>you <strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="1471">nations</strongs>and <strongs number="6099">strong</strongs>: but <em> as </em><em> for </em><strongs number="859">you</strongs>, <strongs number="3808">no</strongs><strongs number="376">man</strongs>hath been able to <strongs number="5975">stand</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>you <strongs number="5704">unto</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'><strongs number="259">One</strongs><strongs number="376">man</strongs><strongs number="4480">of</strongs>you shall <strongs number="7291">chase</strongs>a <strongs number="505">thousand</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>your <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, <strongs number="1931">he</strongs><em> it </em><em> is </em>that <strongs number="3898">fighteth</strongs>for you, <strongs number="834">as</strongs>he hath <strongs number="1696">promised</strongs>you. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>Take <strongs number="3966">good</strongs><strongs number="8104">heed</strongs>therefore unto <strongs number="5315">yourselves</strongs>, that ye <strongs number="157">love</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>your <strongs number="430">God</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'><strongs number="3588">Else</strongs><strongs number="518">if</strongs>ye do in any wise go <strongs number="7725 7725">back</strongs>, and <strongs number="1692">cleave</strongs>unto the <strongs number="3499">remnant</strongs>of <strongs number="428">these</strongs><strongs number="1471">nations</strongs>, <em> even </em><strongs number="428">these</strongs>that <strongs number="7604">remain</strongs><strongs number="854">among</strongs>you, and shall make <strongs number="2859">marriages</strongs>with them, and go <strongs number="935">in</strongs>unto them, and <strongs number="1992">they</strongs>to you: </verse>
      <verse number='13'>Know for a <strongs number="3045 3045">certainty</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>your <strongs number="430">God</strongs>will <strongs number="3808">no</strongs><strongs number="3254">more</strongs>drive <strongs number="3423">out</strongs><em> any </em><em> of </em><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="428">these</strongs><strongs number="1471">nations</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 6440">before</strongs>you; but they shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs><strongs number="6341">snares</strongs>and <strongs number="4170">traps</strongs>unto you, and <strongs number="7850">scourges</strongs>in your <strongs number="6654">sides</strongs>, and <strongs number="6976">thorns</strongs>in your <strongs number="5869">eyes</strongs>, <strongs number="5704">until</strongs>ye <strongs number="6">perish</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 5921">off</strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="2896">good</strongs><strongs number="127">land</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>your <strongs number="430">God</strongs>hath <strongs number="5414">given</strongs>you. </verse>
      <verse number='14'>And, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, this <strongs number="3117">day</strongs><strongs number="595">I</strongs><em> am </em><strongs number="1980">going</strongs>the <strongs number="1870">way</strongs>of <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="776">earth</strongs>: and ye <strongs number="3045">know</strongs>in <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>your <strongs number="3824">hearts</strongs>and in <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>your <strongs number="5315">souls</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="1697">thing</strongs>hath <strongs number="5307">failed</strongs>of <strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="2896">good</strongs><strongs number="1697">things</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>your <strongs number="430">God</strongs><strongs number="1696">spoke</strongs><strongs number="5921">concerning</strongs>you; <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>are come to <strongs number="935">pass</strongs>unto you, <em> and </em><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="1697">thing</strongs>hath <strongs number="5307">failed</strongs><strongs number="4480">thereof</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>Therefore it shall come to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, <em> that </em><strongs number="834">as</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="2896">good</strongs><strongs number="1697">things</strongs>are <strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>you, <strongs number="834">which</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>your <strongs number="430">God</strongs><strongs number="1696 413">promised</strongs>you; <strongs number="3651">so</strongs>shall the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="935">bring</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>you <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="7451">evil</strongs><strongs number="1697">things</strongs>, <strongs number="5704">until</strongs>he have <strongs number="8045">destroyed</strongs>you from <strongs number="4480 5921">off</strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="2896">good</strongs><strongs number="127">land</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>your <strongs number="430">God</strongs>hath <strongs number="5414">given</strongs>you. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>When ye have <strongs number="5674">transgressed</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>your <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs>he <strongs number="6680">commanded</strongs>you, and have <strongs number="1980">gone</strongs>and <strongs number="5647">served</strongs><strongs number="312">other</strongs><strongs number="430">gods</strongs>, and bowed <strongs number="7812">yourselves</strongs>to them; then shall the <strongs number="639">anger</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>be <strongs number="2734">kindled</strongs>against you, and ye shall <strongs number="6">perish</strongs><strongs number="4120">quickly</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 5921">off</strongs>the <strongs number="2896">good</strongs><strongs number="776">land</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>he hath <strongs number="5414">given</strongs>unto you. </verse>
