      <verse number='2'><strongs number="4100">What</strongs>mean ye, that <strongs number="859">ye</strongs><strongs number="4911">use</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="4912">proverb</strongs><strongs number="5921">concerning</strongs>the <strongs number="127">land</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, The <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>have <strongs number="398">eaten</strongs>sour <strongs number="1155">grapes</strongs>, and the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>'s <strongs number="8127">teeth</strongs>are set on <strongs number="6949">edge</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='3'><em> As </em><strongs number="589">I</strongs><strongs number="2416">live</strongs>, <strongs number="5002">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="136">Lord</strongs><strongs number="3069">GOD</strongs>, ye shall <strongs number="518">not</strongs><strongs number="1961">have</strongs><em> occasion </em>any <strongs number="5750">more</strongs>to <strongs number="4911">use</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="4912">proverb</strongs>in <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'><strongs number="2005">Behold</strongs>, <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="5315">souls</strongs>are mine; as the <strongs number="5315">soul</strongs>of the <strongs number="1">father</strongs>, so also the <strongs number="5315">soul</strongs>of the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>is mine: the <strongs number="5315">soul</strongs>that <strongs number="2398">sinneth</strongs>, <strongs number="1931">it</strongs>shall <strongs number="4191">die</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='18'><em> As </em><em> for </em>his <strongs number="1">father</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>he cruelly <strongs number="6231 6233">oppressed</strongs>, <strongs number="1497">spoiled</strongs>his <strongs number="251">brother</strongs>by <strongs number="1499">violence</strongs>, and <strongs number="6213">did</strongs><em> that </em><strongs number="834">which</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="2896">good</strongs><strongs number="8432">among</strongs>his <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, <strongs number="2009">lo</strongs>, even he shall <strongs number="4191">die</strongs>in his <strongs number="5771">iniquity</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='19'>Yet <strongs number="559">say</strongs>ye, <strongs number="4069">Why</strongs>? doth <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs><strongs number="5375">bear</strongs>the <strongs number="5771">iniquity</strongs>of the <strongs number="1">father</strongs>? When the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>hath <strongs number="6213">done</strongs>that which is <strongs number="4941">lawful</strongs>and <strongs number="6666">right</strongs>, <em> and </em>hath <strongs number="8104">kept</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>my <strongs number="2708">statutes</strongs>, and hath <strongs number="6213">done</strongs>them, he shall surely <strongs number="2421 2421">live</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='20'>The <strongs number="5315">soul</strongs>that <strongs number="2398">sinneth</strongs>, <strongs number="1931">it</strongs>shall <strongs number="4191">die</strongs>. The <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5375">bear</strongs>the <strongs number="5771">iniquity</strongs>of the <strongs number="1">father</strongs>, <strongs number="3808">neither</strongs>shall the <strongs number="1">father</strongs><strongs number="5375">bear</strongs>the <strongs number="5771">iniquity</strongs>of the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>: the <strongs number="6666">righteousness</strongs>of the <strongs number="6662">righteous</strongs>shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>him, and the <strongs number="7564">wickedness</strongs>of the <strongs number="7563">wicked</strongs>shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='21'>But <strongs number="3588">if</strongs>the <strongs number="7563">wicked</strongs>will <strongs number="7725">turn</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs>his <strongs number="2403">sins</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>he hath <strongs number="6213">committed</strongs>, and <strongs number="8104">keep</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>my <strongs number="2708">statutes</strongs>, and <strongs number="6213">do</strongs>that which is <strongs number="4941">lawful</strongs>and <strongs number="6666">right</strongs>, he shall surely <strongs number="2421 2421">live</strongs>, he shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="4191">die</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='22'><strongs number="3605">All</strongs>his <strongs number="6588">transgressions</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>he hath <strongs number="6213">committed</strongs>, they shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>be <strongs number="2142">mentioned</strongs>unto him: in his <strongs number="6666">righteousness</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>he hath <strongs number="6213">done</strongs>he shall <strongs number="2421">live</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='23'>Have I any pleasure at <strongs number="2654 2654">all</strongs>that the <strongs number="7563">wicked</strongs>should <strongs number="4194">die</strongs>? <strongs number="5002">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="136">Lord</strongs><strongs number="3069">GOD</strongs>: <em> and </em><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>that he should <strongs number="7725">return</strongs>from his <strongs number="4480 1870">ways</strongs>, and <strongs number="2421">live</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='24'>But when the <strongs number="6662">righteous</strongs>turneth <strongs number="7725">away</strongs>from his <strongs number="4480 6666">righteousness</strongs>, and <strongs number="6213">committeth</strongs><strongs number="5766">iniquity</strongs>, <em> and </em><strongs number="6213">doeth</strongs>according to <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="8441">abominations</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>the <strongs number="7563">wicked</strongs><em> man </em><strongs number="6213">doeth</strongs>, shall he <strongs number="2421">live</strongs>? <strongs number="3605">All</strongs>his <strongs number="6666">righteousness</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>he hath <strongs number="6213">done</strongs>shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>be <strongs number="2142">mentioned</strongs>: in his <strongs number="4604">trespass</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>he hath <strongs number="4603">trespassed</strongs>, and in his <strongs number="2403">sin</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>he hath <strongs number="2398">sinned</strongs>, in them shall he <strongs number="4191">die</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='26'>When a <strongs number="6662">righteous</strongs><em> man </em>turneth <strongs number="7725">away</strongs>from his <strongs number="4480 6666">righteousness</strongs>, and <strongs number="6213">committeth</strongs><strongs number="5766">iniquity</strongs>, and <strongs number="4191">dieth</strongs><strongs number="5921">in</strongs>them; for his <strongs number="5766">iniquity</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>he hath <strongs number="6213">done</strongs>shall he <strongs number="4191">die</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='28'>Because he <strongs number="7200">considereth</strongs>, and turneth <strongs number="7725">away</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs>his <strongs number="6588">transgressions</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>he hath <strongs number="6213">committed</strongs>, he shall surely <strongs number="2421 2421">live</strongs>, he shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="4191">die</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='29'>Yet <strongs number="559">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, The <strongs number="1870">way</strongs>of the <strongs number="136">Lord</strongs>is not <strongs number="8505 3808">equal</strongs>. O <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, are <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>my <strongs number="1870">ways</strongs><strongs number="8505">equal</strongs>? are <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>your <strongs number="1870">ways</strongs><strongs number="3808 8505">unequal</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='30'><strongs number="3651">Therefore</strongs>I will <strongs number="8199">judge</strongs>you, O <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, every <strongs number="376">one</strongs>according to his <strongs number="1870">ways</strongs>, <strongs number="5002">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="136">Lord</strongs><strongs number="3069">GOD</strongs>. <strongs number="7725">Repent</strongs>, and <strongs number="7725">turn</strongs><em> yourselves </em>from <strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs>your <strongs number="6588">transgressions</strongs>; so <strongs number="5771">iniquity</strongs>shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="1961">be</strongs>your <strongs number="4383">ruin</strongs>. </verse>
