      <verse number='1'>There <strongs number="1961">was</strongs>a <strongs number="376">man</strongs>in the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="5780">Uz</strongs>, whose <strongs number="8034">name</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="347">Job</strongs>; and <strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="376">man</strongs><strongs number="1961">was</strongs><strongs number="8535">perfect</strongs>and <strongs number="3477">upright</strongs>, and one that <strongs number="3373">feared</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>, and <strongs number="5493">eschewed</strongs><strongs number="4480 7451">evil</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>And there were <strongs number="3205">born</strongs>unto him <strongs number="7651">seven</strongs><strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>and <strongs number="7969">three</strongs><strongs number="1323">daughters</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>His <strongs number="4735">substance</strongs>also <strongs number="1961">was</strongs><strongs number="7651">seven</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="6629">sheep</strongs>, and <strongs number="7969">three</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="1581">camels</strongs>, and <strongs number="2568">five</strongs><strongs number="3967">hundred</strongs><strongs number="6776">yoke</strongs>of <strongs number="1241">oxen</strongs>, and <strongs number="2568">five</strongs><strongs number="3967">hundred</strongs>she <strongs number="860">asses</strongs>, and a <strongs number="3966">very</strongs><strongs number="7227">great</strongs><strongs number="5657">household</strongs>; so that <strongs number="1931">this</strongs><strongs number="376">man</strongs><strongs number="1961">was</strongs>the <strongs number="1419">greatest</strongs>of <strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">men</strongs>of the <strongs number="6924">east</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>And his <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs><strongs number="1980">went</strongs>and <strongs number="6213 4960">feasted</strongs><em> in </em><em> their </em><strongs number="1004">houses</strongs>, every <strongs number="376">one</strongs>his <strongs number="3117">day</strongs>; and <strongs number="7971">sent</strongs>and <strongs number="7121">called</strongs>for their <strongs number="7969">three</strongs><strongs number="269">sisters</strongs>to <strongs number="398">eat</strongs>and to <strongs number="8354">drink</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>And it <strongs number="1961">was</strongs>so, <strongs number="3588">when</strongs>the <strongs number="3117">days</strongs>of <em> their </em><strongs number="4960">feasting</strongs>were gone <strongs number="5362">about</strongs>, that <strongs number="347">Job</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs>and <strongs number="6942">sanctified</strongs>them, and rose up <strongs number="7925">early</strongs>in the <strongs number="1242">morning</strongs>, and <strongs number="5927">offered</strongs>burnt <strongs number="5930">offerings</strongs><em> according </em>to the <strongs number="4557">number</strongs>of them <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="347">Job</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, It may <strongs number="194">be</strongs>that my <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>have <strongs number="2398">sinned</strongs>, and <strongs number="1288">cursed</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>in their <strongs number="3824">hearts</strongs>. <strongs number="3602">Thus</strongs><strongs number="6213">did</strongs><strongs number="347">Job</strongs><strongs number="3605 3117">continually</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>Now there <strongs number="1961">was</strongs>a <strongs number="3117">day</strongs>when the <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>of <strongs number="430">God</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs>to present <strongs number="3320">themselves</strongs><strongs number="5921">before</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, and <strongs number="7854">Satan</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="1571">also</strongs><strongs number="8432">among</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="7854">Satan</strongs>, <strongs number="4480 370">Whence</strongs><strongs number="935">comest</strongs>thou? Then <strongs number="7854">Satan</strongs><strongs number="6030">answered</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, From going to and <strongs number="4480 7751">fro</strongs>in the <strongs number="776">earth</strongs>, and from walking up and <strongs number="4480 1980">down</strongs>in it. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="7854">Satan</strongs>, Hast thou <strongs number="7760 3820 5921">considered</strongs>my <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs><strongs number="347">Job</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">that</strongs><em> there </em><em> is </em><strongs number="369">none</strongs>like <strongs number="3644">him</strongs>in the <strongs number="776">earth</strongs>, a <strongs number="8535">perfect</strongs>and an <strongs number="3477">upright</strongs><strongs number="376">man</strongs>, one that <strongs number="3373">feareth</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>, and <strongs number="5493">escheweth</strongs><strongs number="4480 7451">evil</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='9'>Then <strongs number="7854">Satan</strongs><strongs number="6030">answered</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, Doth <strongs number="347">Job</strongs><strongs number="3372">fear</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>for <strongs number="2600">naught</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='10'>Hast <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="859">thou</strongs>made a <strongs number="7753">hedge</strongs><strongs number="1157">about</strongs>him, and <strongs number="1157">about</strongs>his <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>, and <strongs number="1157">about</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>he hath on every <strongs number="4480 5439">side</strongs>? thou hast <strongs number="1288">blessed</strongs>the <strongs number="4639">work</strongs>of his <strongs number="3027">hands</strongs>, and his <strongs number="4735">substance</strongs>is <strongs number="6555">increased</strongs>in the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'><strongs number="199">But</strongs>put <strongs number="7971">forth</strongs>thine <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs><strongs number="4994">now</strongs>, and <strongs number="5060">touch</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>he hath, <strongs number="518">and</strongs>he will <strongs number="1288">curse</strongs>thee <strongs number="5921">to</strongs>thy <strongs number="6440">face</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="7854">Satan</strongs>, <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>he hath <em> is </em>in thy <strongs number="3027">power</strongs>; <strongs number="7535">only</strongs><strongs number="413">upon</strongs>himself put not <strongs number="408 7971">forth</strongs>thine <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>. So <strongs number="7854">Satan</strongs>went <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs><strongs number="4480 5973">from</strongs>the <strongs number="6440">presence</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>And there <strongs number="1961">was</strongs>a <strongs number="3117">day</strongs>when his <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>and his <strongs number="1323">daughters</strongs><em> were </em><strongs number="398">eating</strongs>and <strongs number="8354">drinking</strongs><strongs number="3196">wine</strongs>in their <strongs number="1060">eldest</strongs><strongs number="251">brother</strongs>'s <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='14'>And there <strongs number="935">came</strongs>a <strongs number="4397">messenger</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="347">Job</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, The <strongs number="1241">oxen</strongs><strongs number="1961">were</strongs><strongs number="2790">plowing</strongs>, and the <strongs number="860">asses</strongs><strongs number="7462">feeding</strongs><strongs number="5921 3027">beside</strongs>them: </verse>
      <verse number='15'>And the <strongs number="7614">Sabeans</strongs><strongs number="5307">fell</strongs><em> upon </em><em> them </em>, and took them <strongs number="3947">away</strongs>; yea, they have <strongs number="5221">slain</strongs>the <strongs number="5288">servants</strongs>with the <strongs number="6310">edge</strongs>of the <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>; and <strongs number="589">I</strongs><strongs number="7535">only</strongs>am <strongs number="4422">escaped</strongs><strongs number="905">alone</strongs>to <strongs number="5046">tell</strongs>thee. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>While <strongs number="2088">he</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="5750">yet</strongs><strongs number="1696">speaking</strongs>, there <strongs number="935">came</strongs>also <strongs number="2088">another</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, The <strongs number="784">fire</strongs>of <strongs number="430">God</strongs>is <strongs number="5307">fallen</strongs><strongs number="4480">from</strongs><strongs number="8064">heaven</strongs>, and hath burned <strongs number="1197">up</strongs>the <strongs number="6629">sheep</strongs>, and the <strongs number="5288">servants</strongs>, and <strongs number="398">consumed</strongs>them; and <strongs number="589">I</strongs><strongs number="7535">only</strongs>am <strongs number="4422">escaped</strongs><strongs number="905">alone</strongs>to <strongs number="5046">tell</strongs>thee. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>While <strongs number="2088">he</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="5750">yet</strongs><strongs number="1696">speaking</strongs>, there <strongs number="935">came</strongs>also <strongs number="2088">another</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, The <strongs number="3778">Chaldeans</strongs><strongs number="7760">made</strongs>out <strongs number="7969">three</strongs><strongs number="7218">bands</strongs>, and <strongs number="6584">fell</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>the <strongs number="1581">camels</strongs>, and have carried them <strongs number="3947">away</strongs>, yea, and <strongs number="5221">slain</strongs>the <strongs number="5288">servants</strongs>with the <strongs number="6310">edge</strongs>of the <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>; and <strongs number="589">I</strongs><strongs number="7535">only</strongs>am <strongs number="4422">escaped</strongs><strongs number="905">alone</strongs>to <strongs number="5046">tell</strongs>thee. </verse>

      <verse number='20'>Then <strongs number="347">Job</strongs><strongs number="6965">arose</strongs>, and <strongs number="7167">rent</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>his <strongs number="4598">mantle</strongs>, and <strongs number="1494">shaved</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>his <strongs number="7218">head</strongs>, and fell <strongs number="5307">down</strongs>upon the <strongs number="776">ground</strongs>, and <strongs number="7812">worshiped</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='21'>And <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="6174">Naked</strongs>came I <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>of my mother's <strongs number="4480 990 517">womb</strongs>, and <strongs number="6174">naked</strongs>shall I <strongs number="7725">return</strongs><strongs number="8033">thither</strongs>: the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="5414">gave</strongs>, and the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>hath taken <strongs number="3947">away</strongs>; <strongs number="1288">blessed</strongs><strongs number="1961">be</strongs>the <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='22'>In <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="347">Job</strongs><strongs number="2398">sinned</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>, <strongs number="3808">nor</strongs><strongs number="5414">charged</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs><strongs number="8604">foolishly</strongs>. </verse>
