      <verse number='1'>When <strongs number="4782">Mordecai</strongs><strongs number="3045">perceived</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>was <strongs number="6213">done</strongs>, <strongs number="4782">Mordecai</strongs><strongs number="7167">rent</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>his <strongs number="899">clothes</strongs>, and put <strongs number="3847">on</strongs><strongs number="8242">sackcloth</strongs>with <strongs number="665">ashes</strongs>, and went <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>into the <strongs number="8432">midst</strongs>of the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, and <strongs number="2199">cried</strongs>with a <strongs number="1419">loud</strongs>and a <strongs number="4751">bitter</strongs><strongs number="2201">cry</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='2'>And <strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="5704">even</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>'s <strongs number="8179">gate</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="369">none</strongs><em> might </em><strongs number="935">enter</strongs><strongs number="413">into</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>'s <strongs number="8179">gate</strongs><strongs number="3830">clothed</strongs>with <strongs number="8242">sackcloth</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>And in <strongs number="3605">every</strongs><strongs number="4082 4082">province</strongs>, <strongs number="4725 834">whithersoever</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>'s <strongs number="1697">commandment</strongs>and his <strongs number="1881">decree</strongs><strongs number="5060">came</strongs>, <em> there </em><em> was </em><strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="60">mourning</strongs>among the <strongs number="3064">Jews</strongs>, and <strongs number="6685">fasting</strongs>, and <strongs number="1065">weeping</strongs>, and <strongs number="4553">wailing</strongs>; and <strongs number="7227">many</strongs><strongs number="3331">lay</strongs>in <strongs number="8242">sackcloth</strongs>and <strongs number="665">ashes</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>So <strongs number="635">Esther</strongs>'s <strongs number="5291">maids</strongs>and her <strongs number="5631">chamberlains</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs>and <strongs number="5046">told</strongs><em> it </em>her. Then was the <strongs number="4436">queen</strongs><strongs number="3966">exceedingly</strongs><strongs number="2342">grieved</strongs>; and she <strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="899">raiment</strongs>to <strongs number="3847">clothe</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="4782">Mordecai</strongs>, and to take <strongs number="5493">away</strongs>his <strongs number="8242">sackcloth</strongs><strongs number="4480 5921">from</strongs>him: but he <strongs number="6901">received</strongs><em> it </em><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>Then <strongs number="7121">called</strongs><strongs number="635">Esther</strongs>for <strongs number="2047">Hatach</strongs>, <em> one </em>of the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>'s <strongs number="4480 5631">chamberlains</strongs>, <strongs number="834">whom</strongs>he had <strongs number="5975">appointed</strongs>to attend <strongs number="6440">upon</strongs>her, and gave him a <strongs number="6680">commandmen</strongs><strongs number="5921">to</strongs><strongs number="4782">Mordecai</strongs>, to <strongs number="3045">know</strongs><strongs number="4100">what</strongs><strongs number="2088">it</strongs><em> was </em>, and <strongs number="5921 4100">why</strongs><strongs number="2088">it</strongs><em> was </em>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>So <strongs number="2047">Hatach</strongs>went <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="4782">Mordecai</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="7339">street</strongs>of the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>'s <strongs number="8179">gate</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>And <strongs number="4782">Mordecai</strongs><strongs number="5046">told</strongs>him of <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>had <strongs number="7136">happened</strongs>unto him, <strongs number="*853">and</strongs>of the <strongs number="6575">sum</strongs>of the <strongs number="3701">money</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><strongs number="2001">Haman</strongs>had <strongs number="559">promised</strongs>to <strongs number="8254">pay</strongs><strongs number="5921">to</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>'s <strongs number="1595">treasuries</strongs>for the <strongs number="3064">Jews</strongs>, to <strongs number="6">destroy</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>Also he <strongs number="5414">gave</strongs>him the <strongs number="6572">copy</strongs>of the <strongs number="3791">writing</strongs>of the <strongs number="1881">decree</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>was <strongs number="5414">given</strongs>at <strongs number="7800">Shushan</strongs>to <strongs number="8045">destroy</strongs>them, to <strongs number="7200">show</strongs><em> it </em>unto <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="635">Esther</strongs>, and to <strongs number="5046">declare</strongs><em> it </em>unto her, and to <strongs number="6680">charge</strongs><strongs number="5921">her</strongs>that she should go <strongs number="935">in</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, to make <strongs number="2603">supplication</strongs>unto him, and to make <strongs number="1245">request</strongs><strongs number="4480 6440">before</strongs>him <strongs number="5921">for</strongs>her <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='10'>Again <strongs number="635">Esther</strongs><strongs number="559">spoke</strongs>unto <strongs number="2047">Hatach</strongs>, and gave him <strongs number="6680">commandment</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="4782">Mordecai</strongs>; </verse>

      <verse number='13'>Then <strongs number="4782">Mordecai</strongs><strongs number="559">commanded</strongs>to <strongs number="7725 413">answer</strongs><strongs number="635">Esther</strongs>, <strongs number="1819">Think</strongs><strongs number="408">not</strongs>with <strongs number="5315">thyself</strongs>that thou shalt <strongs number="4422">escape</strongs>in the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>'s <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>, more than <strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="3064">Jews</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs><strongs number="518">if</strongs>thou altogether holdest thy <strongs number="2790 2790">peace</strongs>at <strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="6256">time</strongs>, <em> then </em>shall there <strongs number="7305">enlargement</strongs>and <strongs number="2020">deliverance</strongs><strongs number="5975">arise</strongs>to the <strongs number="3064">Jews</strongs>from another <strongs number="4480 4725 312">place</strongs>; but <strongs number="859">thou</strongs>and thy <strongs number="1">father</strongs>'s <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>shall be <strongs number="6">destroyed</strongs>: and <strongs number="4310">who</strongs><strongs number="3045">knoweth</strongs><strongs number="518">whether</strongs>thou art <strongs number="5060">come</strongs>to the <strongs number="4438">kingdom</strongs>for <em> such </em>a <strongs number="6256">time</strongs>as <strongs number="2063">this</strongs>? </verse>
