      <verse number='1'>And the <strongs number="3427">inhabitants</strongs>of <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>made <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="274">Ahaziah</strongs>his <strongs number="6996">youngest</strongs><strongs number="1121">son</strongs><strongs number="4427">king</strongs>in his <strongs number="8478">stead</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>the band of <strongs number="1416">men</strongs>that <strongs number="935">came</strongs>with the <strongs number="6163">Arabians</strongs>to the <strongs number="4264">camp</strongs>had <strongs number="2026">slain</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="7223">eldest</strongs>. So <strongs number="274">Ahaziah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="3088">Jehoram</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="4427">reigned</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'><strongs number="705">Forty</strongs>and <strongs number="8147">two</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs><strongs number="1121">old</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="274">Ahaziah</strongs>when he began to <strongs number="4427">reign</strongs>, and he <strongs number="4427">reigned</strongs><strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="8141">year</strongs>in <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>. His <strongs number="517">mother</strongs>'s <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>also <em> was </em><strongs number="6271">Athaliah</strongs>the <strongs number="1323">daughter</strongs>of <strongs number="6018">Omri</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'><strongs number="1931">He</strongs><strongs number="1571">also</strongs><strongs number="1980">walked</strongs>in the <strongs number="1870">ways</strongs>of the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="256">Ahab</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>his <strongs number="517">mother</strongs><strongs number="1961">was</strongs>his <strongs number="3289">counselor</strongs>to do <strongs number="7561">wickedly</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>Wherefore he <strongs number="6213">did</strongs><strongs number="7451">evil</strongs>in the <strongs number="5869">sight</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>like the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="256">Ahab</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="1992">they</strongs><strongs number="1961">were</strongs>his <strongs number="3289">counselors</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs>the <strongs number="4194">death</strongs>of his <strongs number="1">father</strongs>to his <strongs number="4889">destruction</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>He <strongs number="1980">walked</strongs><strongs number="1571">also</strongs>after their <strongs number="6098">counsel</strongs>, and <strongs number="1980">went</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs><strongs number="3088">Jehoram</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="256">Ahab</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>to <strongs number="4421">war</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs><strongs number="2371">Hazael</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="758">Syria</strongs>at <strongs number="7433">Ramoth</strongs>-gilead: and the <strongs number="761">Syrians</strongs><strongs number="5221">smote</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3141">Joram</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>And he <strongs number="7725">returned</strongs>to be <strongs number="7495">healed</strongs>in <strongs number="3157">Jezreel</strongs>because <strongs number="3588">of</strongs>the <strongs number="4347">wounds</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>were <strongs number="5221">given</strongs>him at <strongs number="7414">Ramah</strongs>, when he <strongs number="3898">fought</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>with <strongs number="2371">Hazael</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="758">Syria</strongs>. And <strongs number="5838">Azariah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="3088">Jehoram</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>went <strongs number="3381">down</strongs>to <strongs number="7200">see</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3088">Jehoram</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="256">Ahab</strongs>at <strongs number="3157">Jezreel</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">because</strongs><strongs number="1931">he</strongs>was <strongs number="2470">sick</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>And the <strongs number="8395">destruction</strongs>of <strongs number="274">Ahaziah</strongs><strongs number="1961">was</strongs>of <strongs number="4480 430">God</strongs>by <strongs number="935">coming</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="3141">Joram</strongs>: for when he was <strongs number="935">come</strongs>, he went <strongs number="3318">out</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs><strongs number="3088">Jehoram</strongs><strongs number="413">against</strongs><strongs number="3058">Jehu</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="5250">Nimshi</strongs>, <strongs number="834">whom</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>had <strongs number="4886">anointed</strongs>to cut <strongs number="3772">off</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="256">Ahab</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, that, when <strongs number="3058">Jehu</strongs>was executing <strongs number="8199">judgment</strongs><strongs number="5973">upon</strongs>the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="256">Ahab</strongs>, and <strongs number="4672">found</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="8269">princes</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, and the <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>of the <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs>of <strongs number="274">Ahaziah</strongs>, that <strongs number="8334">ministered</strongs>to <strongs number="274">Ahaziah</strongs>, he <strongs number="2026">slew</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>And he <strongs number="1245">sought</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="274">Ahaziah</strongs>: and they <strongs number="3920">caught</strongs>him, (for <strongs number="1931">he</strongs>was <strongs number="2244">hid</strongs>in <strongs number="8111">Samaria</strongs>,) and <strongs number="935">brought</strongs>him <strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="3058">Jehu</strongs>: and when they had <strongs number="4191">slain</strongs>him, they <strongs number="6912">buried</strongs>him: <strongs number="3588">Because</strongs>, <strongs number="559">said</strongs>they, <strongs number="1931">he</strongs><em> is </em>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="3092">Jehoshaphat</strongs>, <strongs number="834">who</strongs><strongs number="1875">sought</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>with <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>his <strongs number="3824">heart</strongs>. So the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="274">Ahaziah</strongs>had <strongs number="369">no</strongs><strongs number="3581">power</strongs>to keep <strongs number="6113">still</strongs>the <strongs number="4467">kingdom</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>But when <strongs number="6271">Athaliah</strongs>the <strongs number="517">mother</strongs>of <strongs number="274">Ahaziah</strongs><strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>her <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>was <strongs number="4191">dead</strongs>, she <strongs number="6965">arose</strongs>and <strongs number="1696">destroyed</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="2233">seed</strongs><strongs number="4467">royal</strongs>of the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>But <strongs number="3090">Jehoshabeath</strongs>, the <strongs number="1323">daughter</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, <strongs number="3947">took</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3101">Joash</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="274">Ahaziah</strongs>, and <strongs number="1589">stole</strongs>him from <strongs number="4480 8432">among</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>'s <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>that were <strongs number="4191">slain</strongs>, and <strongs number="5414">put</strongs>him and his <strongs number="3243">nurse</strongs>in a <strongs number="2315 4296">bedchamber</strongs>. So <strongs number="3090">Jehoshabeath</strongs>, the <strongs number="1323">daughter</strongs>of <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="3088">Jehoram</strongs>, the <strongs number="802">wife</strongs>of <strongs number="3077">Jehoiada</strongs>the <strongs number="3548">priest</strongs>, ( <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="1931">she</strongs><strongs number="1961">was</strongs>the <strongs number="269">sister</strongs>of <strongs number="274">Ahaziah</strongs>,) <strongs number="5641">hid</strongs>him <strongs number="4480 6440">from</strongs><strongs number="6271">Athaliah</strongs>, so that she <strongs number="4191">slew</strongs>him <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>And he <strongs number="1961">was</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>them <strongs number="2244">hid</strongs>in the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="430">God</strongs><strongs number="8337">six</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs>: and <strongs number="6271">Athaliah</strongs><strongs number="4427">reigned</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>. </verse>
