      <verse number='1'>And when <strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs>was <strongs number="935">come</strongs>to <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, he <strongs number="6950">gathered</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>of the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>and <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>a <strongs number="3967">hundred</strongs>and <strongs number="8084">fourscore</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="977">chosen</strongs><em> men </em>, which were <strongs number="6213 4421">warriors</strongs>, to <strongs number="3898">fight</strongs><strongs number="5973">against</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, that he might <strongs number="7725">bring</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4467">kingdom</strongs>again to <strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>But the <strongs number="1697">word</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="1961">came</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="8098">Shemaiah</strongs>the <strongs number="376">man</strongs>of <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='3'><strongs number="559">Speak</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="8010">Solomon</strongs>, <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, and <strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>in <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>and <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='4'><strongs number="3541">Thus</strongs><strongs number="559">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, Ye shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>go <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>, <strongs number="3808">nor</strongs><strongs number="3898">fight</strongs><strongs number="5973">against</strongs>your <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs>: <strongs number="7725">return</strongs>every <strongs number="376">man</strongs>to his <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="1697">thing</strongs>is <strongs number="1961">done</strongs><strongs number="4480 854">of</strongs>me.       <verse number='5'>And <strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs><strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs>in <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, and <strongs number="1129">built</strongs><strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>for <strongs number="4692">defense</strongs>in <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>He <strongs number="1129">built</strongs>even <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="1035">Bethlehem</strongs>, and <strongs number="5862">Etam</strongs>, and <strongs number="8620">Tekoa</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='7'>And <strongs number="1049">Beth</strongs>-zur, and <strongs number="7755">Shoco</strongs>, and <strongs number="5725">Adullam</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='8'>And <strongs number="1661">Gath</strongs>, and <strongs number="4762">Mareshah</strongs>, and <strongs number="2128">Ziph</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='9'>And <strongs number="115">Adoraim</strongs>, and <strongs number="3923">Lachish</strongs>, and <strongs number="5825">Azekah</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='10'>And <strongs number="6681">Zorah</strongs>, and <strongs number="357">Aijalon</strongs>, and <strongs number="2275">Hebron</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs><em> are </em>in <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>and in <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs><strongs number="4694">fenced</strongs><strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>And he <strongs number="2388">fortified</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4694">strongholds</strongs>, and <strongs number="5414">put</strongs><strongs number="5057">captains</strongs>in them, and <strongs number="214">store</strongs>of <strongs number="3978">victual</strongs>, and of <strongs number="8081">oil</strongs>and <strongs number="3196">wine</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>And in <strongs number="3605">every</strongs>several <strongs number="5892 5892">city</strongs><em> he </em><em> put </em><strongs number="6793">shields</strongs>and <strongs number="7420">spears</strongs>, and made them exceeding <strongs number="2388 7235 3966">strong</strongs>, <strongs number="1961">having</strongs><strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>and <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>on his side. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>And the <strongs number="3548">priests</strongs>and the <strongs number="3881">Levites</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> were </em>in <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="3320">resorted</strongs><strongs number="5921">to</strongs>him out of <strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs>their <strongs number="1366">coasts</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs>the <strongs number="3881">Levites</strongs><strongs number="5800">left</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>their <strongs number="4054">suburbs</strongs>and their <strongs number="272">possession</strongs>, and <strongs number="1980">came</strongs>to <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>and <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="3379">Jeroboam</strongs>and his <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>had cast them <strongs number="2186">off</strongs>from executing the priest's <strongs number="4480 3547">office</strongs>unto the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='15'>And he <strongs number="5975">ordained</strongs>him <strongs number="3548">priests</strongs>for the high <strongs number="1116">places</strongs>, and for the <strongs number="8163">devils</strongs>, and for the <strongs number="5695">calves</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>he had <strongs number="6213">made</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='21'>And <strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs><strongs number="157">loved</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="4601">Maachah</strongs>the <strongs number="1323">daughter</strongs>of <strongs number="53">Absalom</strongs>above <strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs>his <strongs number="802">wives</strongs>and his <strongs number="6370">concubines</strongs>: ( <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>he <strongs number="5375">took</strongs><strongs number="8083 6240">eighteen</strongs><strongs number="802">wives</strongs>, and <strongs number="8346">threescore</strongs><strongs number="6370">concubines</strongs>; and <strongs number="3205">begot</strongs><strongs number="6242">twenty</strongs>and <strongs number="8083">eight</strongs><strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>, and <strongs number="8346">threescore</strongs><strongs number="1323">daughters</strongs>.) </verse>
      <verse number='22'>And <strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs><strongs number="5975">made</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="29">Abijah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="4601">Maachah</strongs>the <strongs number="7218">chief</strongs>, <em> to </em><em> be </em><strongs number="5057">ruler</strongs>among his <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><em> he </em><em> thought </em>to make him <strongs number="4427">king</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='23'>And he dealt <strongs number="995">wisely</strongs>, and <strongs number="6555">dispersed</strongs>of <strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs>his <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>throughout <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="776">countries</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>and <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>, unto <strongs number="3605">every</strongs><strongs number="4694">fenced</strongs><strongs number="5892">city</strongs>: and he <strongs number="5414">gave</strongs>them <strongs number="4202">victual</strongs>in <strongs number="7230">abundance</strongs>.
