      <verse number='2'>So <strongs number="3605">every</strongs><strongs number="376">man</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>went <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 310">after</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, <em> and </em><strongs number="310">followed</strongs><strongs number="7652">Sheba</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="1075">Bichri</strongs>: but the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="1692">cleaved</strongs>unto their <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, <strongs number="4480">from</strongs><strongs number="3383">Jordan</strongs>even <strongs number="5704">to</strongs><strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>his <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>at <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>; and the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="3947">took</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="6235">ten</strongs><strongs number="802">women</strongs><em> his </em><strongs number="6370">concubines</strongs>, <strongs number="834">whom</strongs>he had <strongs number="5117">left</strongs>to <strongs number="8104">keep</strongs>the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>, and <strongs number="5414">put</strongs>them in <strongs number="1004 4931">ward</strongs>, and <strongs number="3557">fed</strongs>them, but <strongs number="935">went</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>in <strongs number="413">unto</strongs>them.       <verse number='5'>So <strongs number="6021">Amasa</strongs><strongs number="1980">went</strongs>to <strongs number="2199">assemble</strongs><em> the </em><em> men </em><em> of </em><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>: but he tarried <strongs number="3186">longer</strongs><strongs number="4480">than</strongs>the set <strongs number="4150">time</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>he had <strongs number="3259">appointed</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="52">Abishai</strongs>, <strongs number="6258">Now</strongs>shall <strongs number="7652">Sheba</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="1075">Bichri</strongs>do us more <strongs number="3415">harm</strongs><strongs number="4480">than</strongs><em> did </em><strongs number="53">Absalom</strongs>: <strongs number="3947">take</strongs><strongs number="859">thou</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>thy <strongs number="113">lord</strongs>'s <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs>, and <strongs number="7291">pursue</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs>him, <strongs number="6435">lest</strongs>he <strongs number="4672">get</strongs>him <strongs number="1219">fenced</strongs><strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>, and <strongs number="5337 5869">escape</strongs>us. </verse>

And <strongs number="3097">Joab</strongs><strongs number="270">took</strongs><strongs number="6021">Amasa</strongs>by the <strongs number="2206">beard</strongs>with the <strongs number="3225">right</strongs><strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>to <strongs number="5401">kiss</strongs>him. </verse>

      <verse number='11'>And <strongs number="376">one</strongs>of Joab's <strongs number="4480 5288 3097">men</strongs><strongs number="5975">stood</strongs><strongs number="5921">by</strongs>him, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="4310">He</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><strongs number="2654">favoreth</strongs><strongs number="3097">Joab</strongs>, and <strongs number="4310">he</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> is </em>for <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, <em> let </em><em> him </em><em> go </em><strongs number="310">after</strongs><strongs number="3097">Joab</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>And <strongs number="6021">Amasa</strongs><strongs number="1556">wallowed</strongs>in <strongs number="1818">blood</strongs>in the <strongs number="8432">midst</strongs>of the <strongs number="4546">highway</strongs>.       <verse number='14'>And he went <strongs number="5674">through</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="7626">tribes</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>unto <strongs number="59">Abel</strongs>, and to <strongs number="1038">Beth</strongs>-maachah, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="1276">Berites</strongs>: and they were gathered <strongs number="7035">together</strongs>, and <strongs number="935">went</strongs><strongs number="637">also</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>And they <strongs number="935">came</strongs>and <strongs number="6696 5921">besieged</strongs>him in Abel of <strongs number="62">Beth</strongs>-maachah, and they cast <strongs number="8210">up</strongs>a <strongs number="5550">bank</strongs><strongs number="413">against</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, and it <strongs number="5975">stood</strongs>in the <strongs number="2426">trench</strongs>: and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> were </em><strongs number="854">with</strongs><strongs number="3097">Joab</strongs><strongs number="7843">battered</strongs>the <strongs number="2346">wall</strongs>, to throw it <strongs number="5307">down</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='17'>And when he was come <strongs number="7126">near</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>her, the <strongs number="802">woman</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <em> Art </em><strongs number="859">thou</strongs><strongs number="3097">Joab</strongs>? And he <strongs number="559">answered</strongs>, <strongs number="589">I</strongs><em> am </em><em> he </em>. Then she <strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto him <strongs number="8085">Hear</strongs>the <strongs number="1697">words</strongs>of thine <strongs number="519">handmaid</strongs>.       <verse number='21'>The <strongs number="1697">matter</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="3651">so</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">but</strongs>a <strongs number="376">man</strongs>of <strongs number="4480 2022">mount</strongs><strongs number="669">Ephraim</strongs>, <strongs number="7652">Sheba</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="1075">Bichri</strongs>by <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>, hath lifted <strongs number="5375">up</strongs>his <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>against the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, <em> even </em>against <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>: <strongs number="5414">deliver</strongs>him <strongs number="905">only</strongs>, and I will <strongs number="1980">depart</strongs><strongs number="4480 5921">from</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>.
