      <verse number='2'>For the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="3097">Joab</strongs>the <strongs number="8269">captain</strongs>of the <strongs number="2428">host</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="854">with</strongs>him, <strongs number="7751">Go</strongs><strongs number="4994">now</strongs>through <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="7626">tribes</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, from <strongs number="4480 1835">Dan</strongs>even <strongs number="5704">to</strongs><strongs number="884">Beer</strongs>-sheba, and <strongs number="6485">number</strongs>ye <strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, that I may <strongs number="3045">know</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4557">number</strongs>of the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>And <strongs number="3097">Joab</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, Now the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>thy <strongs number="430">God</strongs><strongs number="3254">add</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, how many soever they <strongs number="1992 1992">be</strongs>a <strongs number="3967 6471">hundredfold</strongs>, and that the <strongs number="5869">eyes</strongs>of my <strongs number="113">lord</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>may <strongs number="7200">see</strongs><em> it </em>: but <strongs number="4100">why</strongs>doth my <strongs number="113">lord</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="2654">delight</strongs>in <strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="1697">thing</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='4'>Notwithstanding the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>'s <strongs number="1697">word</strongs><strongs number="2388">prevailed</strongs><strongs number="413">against</strongs><strongs number="3097">Joab</strongs>, and <strongs number="5921">against</strongs>the <strongs number="8269">captains</strongs>of the <strongs number="2428">host</strongs>. And <strongs number="3097">Joab</strongs>and the <strongs number="8269">captains</strongs>of the <strongs number="2428">host</strongs>went <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>from the <strongs number="6440">presence</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, to <strongs number="6485">number</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='6'>Then they <strongs number="935">came</strongs>to <strongs number="1568">Gilead</strongs>, and <strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="8483">Tahtim</strongs>-hodshi; and they <strongs number="935">came</strongs>to <strongs number="1842">Dan</strongs>-jaan, and <strongs number="5439">about</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="6721">Zidon</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='7'>And <strongs number="935">came</strongs>to the <strongs number="4013">stronghold</strongs>of <strongs number="6865">Tyre</strongs>, and to <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>of the <strongs number="2340">Hivites</strongs>, and of the <strongs number="3669">Canaanites</strongs>: and they went <strongs number="3318">out</strongs><em><strongs number="413">to</strongs></em>the <strongs number="5045">south</strongs><em> of </em><strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, <em> even </em>to <strongs number="884">Beer</strongs>-sheba. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>So when they had <strongs number="7751">gone</strongs>through <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>, they <strongs number="935">came</strongs>to <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>at the <strongs number="4480 7097">end</strongs>of <strongs number="8672">nine</strongs><strongs number="2320">months</strongs>and <strongs number="6242">twenty</strongs><strongs number="3117">days</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='12'><strongs number="1980">Go</strongs>and <strongs number="559">say</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, <strongs number="3541">Thus</strongs><strongs number="1696">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="595">I</strongs><strongs number="5190 5921">offer</strongs>thee <strongs number="7969">three</strongs><em> things </em>; <strongs number="977">choose</strongs>thee <strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="4480">of</strongs>them, that I may <em></em><em><strongs number="6213">do</strongs></em><em> it </em>unto thee. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>So <strongs number="1410">Gad</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, and <strongs number="5046">told</strongs>him, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto him, Shall <strongs number="7651">seven</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs>of <strongs number="7458">famine</strongs><strongs number="935">come</strongs>unto thee in thy <strongs number="776">land</strongs>? <strongs number="518">or</strongs>wilt thou <strongs number="5127">flee</strongs><strongs number="7969">three</strongs><strongs number="2320">months</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>thine <strongs number="6862">enemies</strongs>, while <strongs number="1931">they</strongs><strongs number="7291">pursue</strongs>thee? <strongs number="518">or</strongs>that there <strongs number="1961">be</strongs><strongs number="7969">three</strongs><strongs number="3117">days</strongs>' <strongs number="1698">pestilence</strongs>in thy <strongs number="776">land</strongs>? <strongs number="6258">now</strongs><strongs number="3045">advise</strongs>, and <strongs number="7200">see</strongs><strongs number="4100">what</strongs><strongs number="1697">answer</strongs>I shall <strongs number="7725">return</strongs>to him that <strongs number="7971">sent</strongs>me. </verse>
      <verse number='14'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="1410">Gad</strongs>, I am in a <strongs number="3966">great</strongs><strongs number="6862">strait</strongs>: let us <strongs number="5307">fall</strongs><strongs number="4994">now</strongs>into the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>his <strongs number="7356">mercies</strongs><em> are </em><strongs number="7227">great</strongs>: and let me <strongs number="408">not</strongs><strongs number="5307">fall</strongs>into the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of <strongs number="120">man</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>So the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="5414">sent</strongs>a <strongs number="1698">pestilence</strongs>upon <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>from the <strongs number="1242">morning</strongs>even <strongs number="5704">to</strongs>the <strongs number="6256">time</strongs><strongs number="4150">appointed</strongs>: and there <strongs number="4191">died</strongs><strongs number="4480">of</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 1835">Dan</strongs>even <strongs number="5704">to</strongs><strongs number="884">Beer</strongs>-sheba <strongs number="7657">seventy</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>And when the <strongs number="4397">angel</strongs>stretched <strongs number="7971">out</strongs>his <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>upon <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>to <strongs number="7843">destroy</strongs>it, the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>repented <strongs number="5162">him</strongs><strongs number="413">of</strongs>the <strongs number="7451">evil</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>to the <strongs number="4397">angel</strongs>that <strongs number="7843">destroyed</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, It is <strongs number="7227">enough</strongs>: <strongs number="7503">stay</strongs><strongs number="6258">now</strongs>thine <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>.       <verse number='17'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="559">spoke</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>when he <strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4397">angel</strongs>that <strongs number="5221">smote</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="2009">Lo</strongs>, <strongs number="595">I</strongs>have <strongs number="2398">sinned</strongs>, and <strongs number="595">I</strongs>have done <strongs number="5753">wickedly</strongs>: but <strongs number="428">these</strongs><strongs number="6629">sheep</strongs>, <strongs number="4100">what</strongs>have they <strongs number="6213">done</strongs>? let thine <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>, I pray <strongs number="4994">thee</strongs>, <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>against me, and against my <strongs number="1">father</strongs>'s <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>And <strongs number="1410">Gad</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto him, Go <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>, <strongs number="6965">rear</strongs>an <strongs number="4196">altar</strongs>unto the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>in the <strongs number="1637">threshingfloor</strongs>of <strongs number="728">Araunah</strongs>the <strongs number="2983">Jebusite</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='19'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, according to the <strongs number="1697">saying</strongs>of <strongs number="1410">Gad</strongs>, went <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="834">as</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="6680">commanded</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='20'>And <strongs number="728">Araunah</strongs><strongs number="8259">looked</strongs>, and <strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>and his <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs>coming <strongs number="5674">on</strongs><strongs number="5921">toward</strongs>him: and <strongs number="728">Araunah</strongs>went <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>, and bowed <strongs number="7812">himself</strongs>before the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>on his <strongs number="639">face</strongs>upon the <strongs number="776">ground</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='21'>And <strongs number="728">Araunah</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="4069">Wherefore</strongs>is my <strongs number="113">lord</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>his <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs>? And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, To <strongs number="7069">buy</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="1637">threshingfloor</strongs><strongs number="4480 5973">of</strongs>thee, to <strongs number="1129">build</strongs>an <strongs number="4196">altar</strongs>unto the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, that the <strongs number="4046">plague</strongs>may be <strongs number="6113">stayed</strongs><strongs number="4480 5921">from</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='22'>And <strongs number="728">Araunah</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, Let my <strongs number="113">lord</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="3947">take</strongs>and offer <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>what <em> seemeth </em><strongs number="2896">good</strongs>unto <strongs number="5869">him</strongs>: <strongs number="7200">behold</strongs>, <em> here </em><em> be </em><strongs number="1241">oxen</strongs>for burnt <strongs number="5930">sacrifice</strongs>, and threshing <strongs number="4173">instruments</strongs>and <em> other </em><strongs number="3627">instruments</strongs>of the <strongs number="1241">oxen</strongs>for <strongs number="6086">wood</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='23'><strongs number="3605">All</strongs>these <em> things </em>did <strongs number="728">Araunah</strongs>, <em> as </em>a <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, <strongs number="5414">give</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>. And <strongs number="728">Araunah</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, The <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>thy <strongs number="430">God</strongs><strongs number="7521">accept</strongs>thee. </verse>
      <verse number='24'>And the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="728">Araunah</strongs>, <strongs number="3808">Nay</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">but</strongs>I will surely <strongs number="7069 7069">buy</strongs><em> it </em><strongs number="4480 854">of</strongs>thee at a <strongs number="4242">price</strongs>: <strongs number="3808">neither</strongs>will I <strongs number="5927">offer</strongs>burnt <strongs number="5930">offerings</strongs>unto the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>my <strongs number="430">God</strongs>of that <strongs number="834">which</strongs>doth cost me <strongs number="2600">nothing</strongs>. So <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="7069">bought</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="1637">threshingfloor</strongs>and the <strongs number="1241">oxen</strongs>for <strongs number="2572">fifty</strongs><strongs number="8255">shekels</strongs>of <strongs number="3701">silver</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='25'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="1129">built</strongs><strongs number="8033">there</strongs>an <strongs number="4196">altar</strongs>unto the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, and <strongs number="5927">offered</strongs>burnt <strongs number="5930">offerings</strongs>and peace <strongs number="8002">offerings</strongs>. So the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>was <strongs number="6279">entreated</strongs>for the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>, and the <strongs number="4046">plague</strongs>was <strongs number="6113">stayed</strongs><strongs number="4480 5921">from</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
