      <verse number='1'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>in <strongs number="1992">those</strongs><strongs number="3117">days</strongs>, that the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>gathered <strongs number="6908">together</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>their <strongs number="4264">armies</strongs>for <strongs number="6635">warfare</strongs>, to <strongs number="3898">fight</strongs>with <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. And <strongs number="397">Achish</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, Know thou <strongs number="3045 3045">assuredly</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">that</strongs>thou shalt go <strongs number="3318">out</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>me to <strongs number="4264">battle</strongs>, <strongs number="859">thou</strongs>and thy <strongs number="376">men</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>And <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="397">Achish</strongs>, <strongs number="3651">Surely</strongs><strongs number="859">thou</strongs>shalt <strongs number="3045">know</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="834">what</strongs>thy <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs>can <strongs number="6213">do</strongs>. And <strongs number="397">Achish</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, <strongs number="3651">Therefore</strongs>will I <strongs number="7760">make</strongs>thee <strongs number="8104">keeper</strongs>of mine <strongs number="7218">head</strongs><strongs number="3605 3117">forever</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>Now <strongs number="8050">Samuel</strongs>was <strongs number="4191">dead</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>had <strongs number="5594">lamented</strongs>him, and <strongs number="6912">buried</strongs>him in <strongs number="7414">Ramah</strongs>, even in his own <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>. And <strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>had put <strongs number="5493">away</strongs>those that had familiar <strongs number="178">spirits</strongs>, and the <strongs number="3049">wizards</strongs>, out of the <strongs number="4480 776">land</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>And the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>gathered themselves <strongs number="6908">together</strongs>, and <strongs number="935">came</strongs>and <strongs number="2583">pitched</strongs>in <strongs number="7766">Shunem</strongs>: and <strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>gathered all Israel <strongs number="6908 *853 3605 3478">together</strongs>, and they <strongs number="2583">pitched</strongs>in <strongs number="1533">Gilboa</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>And when <strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs><strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4264">host</strongs>of the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>, he was <strongs number="3372">afraid</strongs>, and his <strongs number="3820">heart</strongs><strongs number="3966">greatly</strongs><strongs number="2729">trembled</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>And when <strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs><strongs number="7592">inquired</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="6030">answered</strongs>him <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>, <strongs number="1571">neither</strongs>by <strongs number="2472">dreams</strongs>, <strongs number="1571">nor</strongs>by <strongs number="224">Urim</strongs>, <strongs number="1571">nor</strongs>by <strongs number="5030">prophets</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>Then <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>unto his <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs>, <strongs number="1245">Seek</strongs>me a <strongs number="802">woman</strongs>that <strongs number="1172">hath</strongs>a familiar <strongs number="178">spirit</strongs>, that I may <strongs number="1980">go</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>her, and <strongs number="1875">inquire</strongs>of her. And his <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>him, <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, <em> there </em><em> is </em>a <strongs number="802">woman</strongs>that <strongs number="1172">hath</strongs>a familiar <strongs number="178">spirit</strongs>at <strongs number="5874">Endor</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>And <strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>disguised <strongs number="2664">himself</strongs>, and put <strongs number="3847">on</strongs><strongs number="312">other</strongs><strongs number="899">raiment</strongs>, and <strongs number="1931">he</strongs><strongs number="1980">went</strongs>, and <strongs number="8147">two</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>him, and they <strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="802">woman</strongs>by <strongs number="3915">night</strongs>: and he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, I pray <strongs number="4994">thee</strongs>, <strongs number="7080">divine</strongs>unto me by the familiar <strongs number="178">spirit</strongs>, and <strongs number="5927">bring</strongs>me <em> him </em>up, <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="834">whom</strongs>I shall <strongs number="559">name</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>thee. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>And the <strongs number="802">woman</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, <strongs number="859">thou</strongs><strongs number="3045">knowest</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="834">what</strongs><strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>hath <strongs number="6213">done</strongs>, <strongs number="834">how</strongs>he hath cut <strongs number="3772">off</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>those that have familiar <strongs number="178">spirits</strongs>, and the <strongs number="3049">wizards</strongs>, out <strongs number="4480">of</strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>: <strongs number="4100">wherefore</strongs>then layest <strongs number="859">thou</strongs>a <strongs number="5367">snare</strongs>for my <strongs number="5315">life</strongs>, to cause me to <strongs number="4191">die</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='10'>And <strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs><strongs number="7650">swore</strongs>to her by the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <em> As </em>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="2416">liveth</strongs>, there shall <strongs number="518">no</strongs><strongs number="5771">punishment</strongs><strongs number="7136">happen</strongs>to thee for <strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="1697">thing</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>Then <strongs number="559">said</strongs>the <strongs number="802">woman</strongs>, <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="4130">Whom</strongs>shall I bring <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>unto thee? And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, Bring me <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="8050">Samuel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>And when the <strongs number="802">woman</strongs><strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="8050">Samuel</strongs>, she <strongs number="2199">cried</strongs>with a <strongs number="1419">loud</strongs><strongs number="6963">voice</strongs>: and the <strongs number="802">woman</strongs><strongs number="559">spoke</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="4100">Why</strongs>hast thou <strongs number="7411">deceived</strongs>me? for <strongs number="859">thou</strongs><em> art </em><strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>And the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto her, Be <strongs number="408">not</strongs><strongs number="3372">afraid</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="4100">what</strongs><strongs number="7200">sawest</strongs>thou? And the <strongs number="802">woman</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>, I <strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><strongs number="430">gods</strongs><strongs number="5927">ascending</strongs>out <strongs number="4480">of</strongs>the <strongs number="776">earth</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'>And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto her, <strongs number="4100">What</strongs><strongs number="8389">form</strongs><em> is </em>he of? And she <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, An <strongs number="2205">old</strongs><strongs number="376">man</strongs>cometh <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>; and <strongs number="1931">he</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="5844">covered</strongs>with a <strongs number="4598">mantle</strongs>. And <strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs><strongs number="3045">perceived</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>it <em> was </em><strongs number="8050">Samuel</strongs>, and <strongs number="1931">he</strongs><strongs number="6915">stooped</strongs>with <em> his </em><strongs number="639">face</strongs>to the <strongs number="776">ground</strongs>, and bowed <strongs number="7812">himself</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>And <strongs number="8050">Samuel</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>, <strongs number="4100">Why</strongs>hast thou <strongs number="7264">disquieted</strongs>me, to bring me <strongs number="5927 *853">up</strongs>? And <strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs><strongs number="559">answered</strongs>, I am <strongs number="3966">sore</strongs><strongs number="6887">distressed</strongs>; for the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>make <strongs number="3898">war</strongs>against me, and <strongs number="430">God</strongs>is <strongs number="5493">departed</strongs><strongs number="4480 5921">from</strongs>me, and <strongs number="6030">answereth</strongs>me <strongs number="3808">no</strongs><strongs number="5750">more</strongs>, <strongs number="1571">neither</strongs><strongs number="3027">by</strongs><strongs number="5030">prophets</strongs>, <strongs number="1571">nor</strongs>by <strongs number="2472">dreams</strongs>: therefore I have <strongs number="7121">called</strongs>thee, that thou mayest make <strongs number="3045">known</strongs>unto me <strongs number="4100">what</strongs>I shall <strongs number="6213">do</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>Then <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="8050">Samuel</strongs>, <strongs number="4100">Wherefore</strongs>then dost thou <strongs number="7592">ask</strongs>of me, seeing the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>is <strongs number="5493">departed</strongs><strongs number="4480 5921">from</strongs>thee, and is <strongs number="1961">become</strongs>thine <strongs number="6145">enemy</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='17'>And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>hath <strongs number="6213">done</strongs>to him, <strongs number="834">as</strongs>he <strongs number="1696">spoke</strongs><strongs number="3027">by</strongs>me: for the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>hath <strongs number="7167">rent</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4467">kingdom</strongs>out of thine <strongs number="4480 3027">hand</strongs>, and <strongs number="5414">given</strongs>it to thy <strongs number="7453">neighbor</strongs>, <em> even </em>to <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='18'><strongs number="834">Because</strongs>thou <strongs number="8085">obeyedst</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>the <strongs number="6963">voice</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="3808">nor</strongs><strongs number="6213">executedst</strongs>his <strongs number="2740">fierce</strongs><strongs number="639">wrath</strongs>upon <strongs number="6002">Amalek</strongs>, <strongs number="5921 3651">therefore</strongs>hath the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="6213">done</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="1697">thing</strongs>unto thee <strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='19'><strongs number="1571">Moreover</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>will also <strongs number="5414">deliver</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>thee into the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>: and <strongs number="4279">tomorrow</strongs><em> shalt </em><strongs number="859">thou</strongs>and thy <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs><em> be </em><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>me: the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="1571">also</strongs>shall <strongs number="5414">deliver</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4264">host</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>into the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of the <strongs number="6430">Philistines</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='20'>Then <strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs><strongs number="5307">fell</strongs><strongs number="4116">straightway</strongs>all <strongs number="4393 6967">along</strongs>on the <strongs number="776">earth</strongs>, and was <strongs number="3966">sore</strongs><strongs number="3372">afraid</strongs>, because of the <strongs number="4480 1697">words</strongs>of <strongs number="8050">Samuel</strongs>: <strongs number="1571">and</strongs>there <strongs number="1961">was</strongs><strongs number="3808">no</strongs><strongs number="3581">strength</strongs>in him; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>he had <strongs number="398">eaten</strongs><strongs number="3808">no</strongs><strongs number="3899">bread</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="3117">day</strongs>, nor <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="3915">night</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='21'>And the <strongs number="802">woman</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="7586">Saul</strongs>, and <strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>he was <strongs number="3966">sore</strongs><strongs number="926">troubled</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, thine <strongs number="8198">handmaid</strongs>hath <strongs number="8085">obeyed</strongs>thy <strongs number="6963">voice</strongs>, and I have <strongs number="7760">put</strongs>my <strongs number="5315">life</strongs>in my <strongs number="3709">hand</strongs>, and have <strongs number="8085">hearkened</strongs>unto <strongs number="*853"></strongs>thy <strongs number="1697">words</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>thou <strongs number="1696">spokest</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>me. </verse>

      <verse number='23'>But he <strongs number="3985">refused</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, I will <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="398">eat</strongs>. But his <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs>, together <strongs number="1571">with</strongs>the <strongs number="802">woman</strongs>, <strongs number="6555">compelled</strongs>him; and he <strongs number="8085">hearkened</strongs>unto their <strongs number="6963">voice</strongs>. So he <strongs number="6965">arose</strongs>from the <strongs number="4480 776">earth</strongs>, and <strongs number="3427">sat</strongs><strongs number="413">upon</strongs>the <strongs number="4296">bed</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='24'>And the <strongs number="802">woman</strongs>had a <strongs number="4770">fat</strongs><strongs number="5695">calf</strongs>in the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>; and she <strongs number="4116">hasted</strongs>, and <strongs number="2076">killed</strongs>it, and <strongs number="3947">took</strongs><strongs number="7058">flour</strongs>, and <strongs number="3888">kneaded</strongs><em> it </em>, and did <strongs number="644">bake</strongs>unleavened <strongs number="4682">bread</strongs>thereof: </verse>

Then they rose <strongs number="6965">up</strongs>, and went <strongs number="1980">away</strongs><strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="3915">night</strongs>. </verse>
