      <verse number='1'>Now the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>had <strongs number="7650">sworn</strongs>in <strongs number="4709">Mizpeh</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, There shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="376">any</strongs><strongs number="4480">of</strongs>us <strongs number="5414">give</strongs>his <strongs number="1323">daughter</strongs>unto <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>to <strongs number="802">wife</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>And the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs>to the house of <strongs number="1008">God</strongs>, and <strongs number="3427">abode</strongs><strongs number="8033">there</strongs><strongs number="5704">till</strongs><strongs number="6153">even</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>, and lifted <strongs number="5375">up</strongs>their <strongs number="6963">voices</strongs>, and <strongs number="1058">wept</strongs><strongs number="1065 1419">sore</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='3'>And <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, O <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <strongs number="4100">why</strongs>is <strongs number="2063">this</strongs>come to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>in <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, that there should be <strongs number="3117">today</strongs><strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="7626">tribe</strongs><strongs number="6485">lacking</strongs>in <strongs number="4480 3478">Israel</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='4'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>on the <strongs number="4480 4283">morrow</strongs>, that the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>rose <strongs number="7925">early</strongs>, and <strongs number="1129">built</strongs><strongs number="8033">there</strongs>an <strongs number="4196">altar</strongs>, and <strongs number="5927">offered</strongs>burnt <strongs number="5930">offerings</strongs>and peace <strongs number="8002">offerings</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>And the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="4310">Who</strongs><em> is </em><em> there </em>among <strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="7626">tribes</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>came not <strongs number="5927 3808">up</strongs>with the <strongs number="6951">congregation</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>? <strongs number="3588">For</strongs>they had <strongs number="1961">made</strongs>a <strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="7621">oath</strongs><strongs number="834">concerning</strongs>him that came not <strongs number="5927 3808">up</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>to <strongs number="4709">Mizpeh</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, He shall surely be put to <strongs number="4191 4191">death</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>And the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="5162">repented</strongs>them <strongs number="413">for</strongs><strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>their <strongs number="251">brother</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, There is <strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="7626">tribe</strongs>cut <strongs number="1438">off</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 3478">Israel</strongs>this <strongs number="3117">day</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'><strongs number="4100">How</strongs>shall we <strongs number="6213">do</strongs>for <strongs number="802">wives</strongs>for them that <strongs number="3498">remain</strongs>, seeing <strongs number="587">we</strongs>have <strongs number="7650">sworn</strongs>by the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>that we will <strongs number="1115">not</strongs><strongs number="5414">give</strongs>them of our <strongs number="4480 1323">daughters</strongs>to <strongs number="802">wives</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='8'>And they <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="4310">What</strongs><strongs number="259">one</strongs><em> is </em><em> there </em>of the <strongs number="4480 7626">tribes</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>came not <strongs number="5927 3808">up</strongs>to <strongs number="4709">Mizpeh</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>? And, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, there <strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="3808 376">none</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="4264">camp</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 3003 1568">Jabesh</strongs>-gilead <strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="6951">assembly</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>For the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>were <strongs number="6485">numbered</strongs>, and, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, <em> there </em><em> were </em><strongs number="369 376">none</strongs>of the <strongs number="4480 3427">inhabitants</strongs>of <strongs number="3003 1568">Jabesh</strongs>-gilead <strongs number="8033">there</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>And the <strongs number="5712">congregation</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="8033">hither</strongs><strongs number="8147 6240">twelve</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs>of the most <strongs number="4480 1121 2428">valiant</strongs>, and <strongs number="6680">commanded</strongs>them, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="1980">Go</strongs>and <strongs number="5221">smite</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3427">inhabitants</strongs>of <strongs number="3003 1568">Jabesh</strongs>-gilead with the <strongs number="6310">edge</strongs>of the <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>, with the <strongs number="802">women</strongs>and the <strongs number="2945">children</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>And <strongs number="2088">this</strongs><em> is </em>the <strongs number="1697">thing</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>ye shall <strongs number="6213">do</strongs>, Ye shall utterly <strongs number="2763">destroy</strongs><strongs number="3605">every</strongs><strongs number="2145">male</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">every</strongs><strongs number="802">woman</strongs>that hath <strongs number="3045 4904">lain</strongs>by <strongs number="2145">man</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>And they <strongs number="4672">found</strongs>among the <strongs number="4480 3427">inhabitants</strongs>of <strongs number="3003 1568">Jabesh</strongs>-gilead <strongs number="702">four</strongs><strongs number="3967">hundred</strongs><strongs number="5291">young</strongs><strongs number="1330">virgins</strongs>, <strongs number="834">that</strongs>had <strongs number="3045">known</strongs><strongs number="3808">no</strongs><strongs number="376">man</strongs>by <strongs number="4904">lying</strongs>with any <strongs number="2145">male</strongs>: and they <strongs number="935">brought</strongs>them <strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="4264">camp</strongs>to <strongs number="7887">Shiloh</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs><em> is </em>in the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="3667">Canaan</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>And the <strongs number="3605">whole</strongs><strongs number="5712">congregation</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><em> some </em>to <strongs number="1696">speak</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> were </em>in the <strongs number="5553">rock</strongs><strongs number="7417">Rimmon</strongs>, and to <strongs number="7121">call</strongs><strongs number="7965">peaceably</strongs>unto them. </verse>
      <verse number='14'>And <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>came <strongs number="7725">again</strongs>at <strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="6256">time</strongs>; and they <strongs number="5414">gave</strongs>them <strongs number="802">wives</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>they had saved <strongs number="2421">alive</strongs>of the <strongs number="4480 802">women</strongs>of <strongs number="3003 1568">Jabesh</strongs>-gilead: and yet <strongs number="3651">so</strongs>they <strongs number="4672">sufficed</strongs>them <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>And the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>repented <strongs number="5162">them</strongs>for <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>that the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>had <strongs number="6213">made</strongs>a <strongs number="6556">breach</strongs>in the <strongs number="7626">tribes</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>Then the <strongs number="2205">elders</strongs>of the <strongs number="5712">congregation</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="4100">How</strongs>shall we <strongs number="6213">do</strongs>for <strongs number="802">wives</strongs>for them that <strongs number="3498">remain</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">seeing</strongs>the <strongs number="802">women</strongs>are <strongs number="8045">destroyed</strongs>out of <strongs number="4480 1144">Benjamin</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='17'>And they <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <em> There </em><em> must </em><em> be </em>an <strongs number="3425">inheritance</strongs>for them that be <strongs number="6413">escaped</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>, that a <strongs number="7626">tribe</strongs>be <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="4229">destroyed</strongs>out of <strongs number="4480 3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>Howbeit <strongs number="587">we</strongs><strongs number="3201">may</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5414">give</strongs>them <strongs number="802">wives</strongs>of our <strongs number="4480 1323">daughters</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>have <strongs number="7650">sworn</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="779">Cursed</strongs><em> be </em>he that <strongs number="5414">giveth</strongs>a <strongs number="802">wife</strongs>to <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='19'>Then they <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, <em> there </em><em> is </em>a <strongs number="2282">feast</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>in <strongs number="7887">Shiloh</strongs><strongs number="4480 3117 3117">yearly</strongs><em> in </em><em> a </em><em> place </em><strongs number="834">which</strongs><em> is </em>on the north <strongs number="4480 6828">side</strongs>of <strongs number="4480 1008">Bethel</strongs>, on the east <strongs number="4217 8121">side</strongs>of the <strongs number="4546">highway</strongs>that goeth <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 1008">Bethel</strongs>to <strongs number="7927">Shechem</strongs>, and on the <strongs number="4480 5045">south</strongs>of <strongs number="3829">Lebonah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='20'>Therefore they <strongs number="6680">commanded</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="1980">Go</strongs>and lie in <strongs number="693">wait</strongs>in the <strongs number="3754">vineyards</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='21'>And <strongs number="7200">see</strongs>, and, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, <strongs number="518">if</strongs>the <strongs number="1323">daughters</strongs>of <strongs number="7887">Shiloh</strongs>come <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>to <strongs number="2342">dance</strongs>in <strongs number="4246">dances</strongs>, then come ye <strongs number="3318">out</strongs><strongs number="4480">of</strongs>the <strongs number="3754">vineyards</strongs>, and <strongs number="2414">catch</strongs>you every <strongs number="376">man</strongs>his <strongs number="802">wife</strongs>of the <strongs number="4480 1323">daughters</strongs>of <strongs number="7887">Shiloh</strongs>, and <strongs number="1980">go</strongs>to the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="1144">Benjamin</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='22'>And it shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">when</strongs>their <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs><strongs number="176">or</strongs>their <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs><strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>us to <strongs number="7378">complain</strongs>, that we will <strongs number="559">say</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>them, Be <strongs number="2603">favorable</strongs>unto them for our sakes: <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>we <strongs number="3947">reserved</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>to each <strongs number="376">man</strongs>his <strongs number="802">wife</strongs>in the <strongs number="4421">war</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="859">ye</strongs>did <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5414">give</strongs>unto them at this <strongs number="6256">time</strongs>, <em> that </em>ye should be <strongs number="816">guilty</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='24'>And the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="1980">departed</strongs><strongs number="4480 8033">thence</strongs>at <strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="6256">time</strongs>, every <strongs number="376">man</strongs>to his <strongs number="7626">tribe</strongs>and to his <strongs number="4940">family</strongs>, and they went <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 8033">thence</strongs>every <strongs number="376">man</strongs>to his <strongs number="5159">inheritance</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='25'>In <strongs number="1992">those</strongs><strongs number="3117">days</strongs><em> there </em><em> was </em><strongs number="369">no</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>in <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>: every <strongs number="376">man</strongs><strongs number="6213">did</strongs><em> that </em><em> which </em><em> was </em><strongs number="3477">right</strongs>in his own <strongs number="5869">eyes</strongs>. </verse>
