      <verse number='2'>( <strongs number="2532">For</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="2222">life</strongs>was <strongs number="5319">manifested</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs>we have <strongs number="3708">seen</strongs><em> it, </em><strongs number="2532">and</strongs>bear <strongs number="3140">witness</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="518">show</strongs>unto <strongs number="5213">you</strongs>that <strongs number="166">eternal</strongs><strongs number="2222">life</strongs>, <strongs number="3748">which</strongs><strongs number="2258">was</strongs><strongs number="4314">with</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="3962">Father</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs>was <strongs number="5319">manifested</strongs>unto <strongs number="2254">us</strongs>;) </verse>

      <verse number='4'><strongs number="2532">And</strongs>these <strongs number="5023">things</strongs><strongs number="1125">write</strongs>we unto <strongs number="5213">you</strongs>, <strongs number="2443">that</strongs><strongs number="5216">your</strongs><strongs number="5479">joy</strongs>may <strongs number="5600">be</strongs><strongs number="4137">full</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='8'><strongs number="1437">If</strongs>we <strongs number="2036">say</strongs><strongs number="3754">that</strongs>we <strongs number="2192">have</strongs><strongs number="3756">no</strongs><strongs number="266">sin</strongs>, we <strongs number="4105">deceive</strongs><strongs number="1438">ourselves</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="225">truth</strongs><strongs number="2076">is</strongs><strongs number="3756">not</strongs><strongs number="1722">in</strongs><strongs number="2254">us</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'><strongs number="1437">If</strongs>we <strongs number="3670">confess</strongs><strongs number="2257">our</strongs><strongs number="266">sins</strongs>, he <strongs number="2076">is</strongs><strongs number="4103">faithful</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="1342">just</strongs><strongs number="2443">to</strongs><strongs number="863">forgive</strongs><strongs number="2254">us</strongs><em> our </em><strongs number="266">sins</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs>to <strongs number="2511">cleanse</strongs><strongs number="2248">us</strongs><strongs number="575">from</strongs><strongs number="3956">all</strongs><strongs number="93">unrighteousness</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'><strongs number="1437">If</strongs>we <strongs number="2036">say</strongs><strongs number="3754">that</strongs>we have <strongs number="3756">not</strongs><strongs number="264">sinned</strongs>, we <strongs number="4160">make</strongs><strongs number="846">him</strongs>a <strongs number="5583">liar</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="848">his</strongs><strongs number="3056">word</strongs><strongs number="2076">is</strongs><strongs number="3756">not</strongs><strongs number="1722">in</strongs><strongs number="2254">us</strongs>. </verse>
