      <verse number='1'><strongs number="5026">This</strongs><strongs number="1208">second</strongs><strongs number="1992">epistle</strongs>, <strongs number="27">beloved</strongs>, I <strongs number="2235">now</strongs><strongs number="1125">write</strongs>unto <strongs number="5213">you</strongs>; <strongs number="1722">in</strongs><em> both </em><strongs number="3739">which</strongs>I stir <strongs number="1326">up</strongs><strongs number="5216">your</strongs><strongs number="1506">pure</strongs><strongs number="1271">minds</strongs>by way <strongs number="1722">of</strongs><strongs number="5280">remembrance</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='2'>That ye may be <strongs number="3415">mindful</strongs>of <strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="4487">words</strongs>which were spoken <strongs number="4280">before</strongs><strongs number="5259">by</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="40">holy</strongs><strongs number="4396">prophets</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs>of <strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="1785">commandment</strongs>of <strongs number="2257">us</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="652">apostles</strongs>of <strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="2962">Lord</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="4990">Savior</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='3'><strongs number="1097">Knowing</strongs><strongs number="5124">this</strongs><strongs number="4412">first</strongs>, <strongs number="3754">that</strongs>there shall <strongs number="2064">come</strongs><strongs number="1909">in</strongs>the <strongs number="2078">last</strongs><strongs number="2250">days</strongs><strongs number="1703">scoffers</strongs>, <strongs number="4198">walking</strongs><strongs number="2596">after</strongs><strongs number="848">their</strongs><strongs number="2398">own</strongs><strongs number="1939">lusts</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='4'><strongs number="2532">And</strongs><strongs number="3004">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="4226">Where</strongs><strongs number="2076">is</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="1860">promise</strongs>of <strongs number="846">his</strongs><strongs number="3952">coming</strongs>? <strongs number="1063">for</strongs><strongs number="575 3739">since</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="3962">fathers</strongs>fell <strongs number="2837">asleep</strongs>, all <strongs number="3956">things</strongs><strongs number="1265">continue</strongs><strongs number="3779">as</strongs><em> they </em><em> were </em><strongs number="575">from</strongs>the <strongs number="746">beginning</strongs>of the <strongs number="2937">creation</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'><strongs number="1063">For</strongs><strongs number="5124">this</strongs><strongs number="846">they</strongs><strongs number="2309">willingly</strongs>are ignorant <strongs number="2990">of</strongs>, <strongs number="3754">that</strongs>by <strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="3056">word</strongs>of <strongs number="2316">God</strongs>the <strongs number="3772">heavens</strongs><strongs number="2258">were</strongs>of <strongs number="1597">old</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs>the <strongs number="1093">earth</strongs><strongs number="4921">standing</strongs>out <strongs number="1537">of</strongs>the <strongs number="5204">water</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="1223">in</strongs>the <strongs number="5204">water</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='6'><strongs number="1223 3739">Whereby</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="2889">world</strongs>that <strongs number="5119">then</strongs>was, being <strongs number="2626">overflowed</strongs>with <strongs number="5204">water</strongs>, <strongs number="622">perished</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'><strongs number="1161">But</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="3772">heavens</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="1093">earth</strongs>, which are <strongs number="3568">now</strongs>, by <strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="846">same</strongs><strongs number="3056">word</strongs><strongs number="1526">are</strongs>kept in <strongs number="2343">store</strongs>, <strongs number="5083">reserved</strongs>unto <strongs number="4442">fire</strongs><strongs number="1519">against</strongs>the <strongs number="2250">day</strongs>of <strongs number="2920">judgment</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="684">perdition</strongs>of <strongs number="765">ungodly</strongs><strongs number="444">men</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='8'><strongs number="1161">But</strongs>, <strongs number="27">beloved</strongs>, be not <strongs number="2990 3361">ignorant</strongs>of <strongs number="5124">this</strongs>one <strongs number="1520">thing</strongs>, <strongs number="3754">that</strongs><strongs number="3391">one</strongs><strongs number="2250">day</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="3844">with</strongs>the <strongs number="2962">Lord</strongs><strongs number="5613">as</strongs>a <strongs number="5507">thousand</strongs><strongs number="2094">years</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs>a <strongs number="5507">thousand</strongs><strongs number="2094">years</strongs><strongs number="5613">as</strongs><strongs number="3391">one</strongs><strongs number="2250">day</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'><strongs number="3588">The</strongs><strongs number="2962">Lord</strongs>is not <strongs number="1019 3756">slack</strongs>concerning his <strongs number="1860">promise</strongs>, <strongs number="5613">as</strongs>some <strongs number="5100">men</strongs><strongs number="2233">count</strongs><strongs number="1022">slackness</strongs>; <strongs number="235">but</strongs>is <strongs number="3114">longsuffering</strongs><strongs number="1519">to</strongs><strongs number="2248">us</strongs>-ward, <strongs number="3361">not</strongs><strongs number="1014">willing</strongs>that <strongs number="5100">any</strongs>should <strongs number="622">perish</strongs>, <strongs number="235">but</strongs>that <strongs number="3956">all</strongs>should <strongs number="5562">come</strongs><strongs number="1519">to</strongs><strongs number="3341">repentance</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'><strongs number="1161">But</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="2250">day</strongs>of the <strongs number="2962">Lord</strongs>will <strongs number="2240">come</strongs><strongs number="5613">as</strongs>a <strongs number="2812">thief</strongs><strongs number="1722">in</strongs>the <strongs number="3571">night</strongs>; <strongs number="1722">in</strongs>the <strongs number="3739">which</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="3772">heavens</strongs>shall pass <strongs number="3928">away</strongs>with a great <strongs number="4500">noise</strongs>, <strongs number="1161">and</strongs>the <strongs number="4747">elements</strongs>shall <strongs number="3089">melt</strongs>with fervent <strongs number="2741">heat</strongs>, the <strongs number="1093">earth</strongs><strongs number="2532">also</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="2041">works</strongs>that are <strongs number="1722 846">therein</strongs>shall be burned <strongs number="2618">up</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'><em> Seeing </em><strongs number="3767">then</strongs><em> that </em><strongs number="3956">all</strongs>these <strongs number="5130">things</strongs>shall be <strongs number="3089">dissolved</strongs>, what <strongs number="4217">manner</strongs><em> of </em><em> persons </em><strongs number="1163">ought</strongs><strongs number="5209">ye</strongs>to <strongs number="5225">be</strongs><strongs number="1722">in</strongs><em> all </em><strongs number="40">holy</strongs><strongs number="391">conversation</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="2150">godliness</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='12'>Looking <strongs number="4328">for</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="4692">hasting</strongs>unto <strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="3952">coming</strongs>of <strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="2250">day</strongs>of <strongs number="2316">God</strongs>, <strongs number="1223 3739">wherein</strongs>the <strongs number="3772">heavens</strongs>being on <strongs number="4448">fire</strongs>shall be <strongs number="3089">dissolved</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs>the <strongs number="4747">elements</strongs>shall <strongs number="5080">melt</strongs>with fervent <strongs number="2741">heat</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='13'><strongs number="1161">Nevertheless</strongs>we, <strongs number="2596">according</strongs>to <strongs number="846">his</strongs><strongs number="1862">promise</strongs>, look <strongs number="4328">for</strongs><strongs number="2537">new</strongs><strongs number="3772">heavens</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs>a <strongs number="2537">new</strongs><strongs number="1093">earth</strongs>, <strongs number="1722 3739">wherein</strongs><strongs number="2730">dwelleth</strongs><strongs number="1343">righteousness</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'><strongs number="1352">Wherefore</strongs>, <strongs number="27">beloved</strongs>, seeing that ye look <strongs number="4328">for</strongs>such <strongs number="5023">things</strongs>, be <strongs number="4704">diligent</strongs>that ye may be <strongs number="2147">found</strongs>of <strongs number="846">him</strongs><strongs number="1722">in</strongs><strongs number="1515">peace</strongs>, without <strongs number="784">spot</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="298">blameless</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'><strongs number="2532">And</strongs><strongs number="2233">account</strongs><em> that </em><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="3115">longsuffering</strongs>of <strongs number="2257">our</strongs><strongs number="2962">Lord</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="4991">salvation</strongs>; even <strongs number="2532">as</strongs><strongs number="2257">our</strongs><strongs number="27">beloved</strongs><strongs number="80">brother</strongs><strongs number="3972">Paul</strongs><strongs number="2532">also</strongs><strongs number="2596">according</strongs>to <strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="4678">wisdom</strongs><strongs number="1325">given</strongs>unto <strongs number="846">him</strongs>hath <strongs number="1125">written</strongs>unto <strongs number="5213">you</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='16'><strongs number="5613">As</strongs><strongs number="2532">also</strongs><strongs number="1722">in</strongs><strongs number="3956">all</strongs><em> his </em><strongs number="1992">epistles</strongs>, <strongs number="2980">speaking</strongs><strongs number="1722">in</strongs><strongs number="846">them</strongs><strongs number="4012">of</strongs>these <strongs number="5130">things</strongs>; <strongs number="1722">in</strongs><strongs number="3739">which</strongs><strongs number="2076">are</strongs>some <strongs number="5100">things</strongs>hard to be <strongs number="1425">understood</strongs>, <strongs number="3739">which</strongs>they that are <strongs number="261">unlearned</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="793">unstable</strongs><strongs number="4761">wrest</strongs>, <strongs number="5613">as</strongs><em> they </em><em> do </em><strongs number="2532">also</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="3062">other</strongs><strongs number="1124">Scriptures</strongs>, <strongs number="4314">unto</strongs><strongs number="848">their</strongs><strongs number="2398">own</strongs><strongs number="684">destruction</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'><strongs number="5210">Ye</strongs><strongs number="3767">therefore</strongs>, <strongs number="27">beloved</strongs>, seeing ye know these things <strongs number="4267">before</strongs>, <strongs number="5442">beware</strongs><strongs number="3363">lest</strongs>ye also, being led away <strongs number="4879">with</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="4106">error</strongs>of <strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="113">wicked</strongs>, fall <strongs number="1601">from</strongs>your <strongs number="2398">own</strongs><strongs number="4740">steadfastness</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'><strongs number="1161">But</strongs><strongs number="837">grow</strongs><strongs number="1722">in</strongs><strongs number="5485">grace</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs><em> in </em>the <strongs number="1108">knowledge</strongs>of <strongs number="2257">our</strongs><strongs number="2962">Lord</strongs><strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="4990">Savior</strongs><strongs number="2424">Jesus</strongs><strongs number="5547">Christ</strongs>.
