      <verse number='5'>Therefore the <strongs number="2568">five</strongs><strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>of the <strongs number="567">Amorites</strongs>, the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="2275">Hebron</strongs>, the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3412">Jarmuth</strongs>, the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3923">Lachish</strongs>, the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="5700">Eglon</strongs>, gathered themselves <strongs number="622">together</strongs>, and went <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>, <strongs number="1992">they</strongs>and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>their <strongs number="4264">hosts</strongs>, and <strongs number="2583">encamped</strongs><strongs number="5921">before</strongs><strongs number="1391">Gibeon</strongs>, and made <strongs number="3898">war</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>it. </verse>

      <verse number='13'>And the <strongs number="8121">sun</strongs>stood <strongs number="1826">still</strongs>, and the <strongs number="3394">moon</strongs><strongs number="5975">stayed</strongs>, <strongs number="5704">until</strongs>the <strongs number="1471">people</strongs>had <strongs number="5358">avenged</strongs>themselves upon their <strongs number="341">enemies</strongs>. <em> Is </em><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="1931">this</strongs><strongs number="3789">written</strongs><strongs number="5921">in</strongs>the <strongs number="5612">book</strongs>of <strongs number="3477">Jasher</strongs>?       <verse number='14'>And there <strongs number="1961">was</strongs><strongs number="3808">no</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>like <strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>it or <strongs number="310">after</strongs>it, that the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="8085">hearkened</strongs>unto the <strongs number="6963">voice</strongs>of a <strongs number="376">man</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="3898">fought</strongs>for <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>And <strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs><strongs number="7725">returned</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>him, <strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="4264">camp</strongs>to <strongs number="1537">Gilgal</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>But <strongs number="428">these</strongs><strongs number="2568">five</strongs><strongs number="4428">kings</strongs><strongs number="5127">fled</strongs>, and hid <strongs number="2244">themselves</strongs>in a <strongs number="4631">cave</strongs>at <strongs number="4719">Makkedah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>And it was <strongs number="5046">told</strongs><strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, The <strongs number="2568">five</strongs><strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>are <strongs number="4672">found</strongs><strongs number="2244">hid</strongs>in a <strongs number="4631">cave</strongs>at <strongs number="4719">Makkedah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>And <strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="1556">Roll</strongs><strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="68">stones</strongs><strongs number="413">upon</strongs>the <strongs number="6310">mouth</strongs>of the <strongs number="4631">cave</strongs>, and <strongs number="6485">set</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs><strongs number="5921">by</strongs>it for to <strongs number="8104">keep</strongs>them: </verse>

      <verse number='33'><strongs number="227">Then</strongs><strongs number="2036">Horam</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="1507">Gezer</strongs>came <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>to <strongs number="5826">help</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3923">Lachish</strongs>; and <strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs><strongs number="5221">smote</strongs>him and his <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, <strongs number="5704">until</strongs>he had <strongs number="7604">left</strongs>him <strongs number="1115">none</strongs><strongs number="8300">remaining</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='34'>And from <strongs number="4480 3923">Lachish</strongs><strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs><strongs number="5674">passed</strongs>unto <strongs number="5700">Eglon</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>him; and they <strongs number="2583">encamped</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>it, and <strongs number="3898">fought</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>it: </verse>
      <verse number='35'>And they <strongs number="3920">took</strongs>it on <strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>, and <strongs number="5221">smote</strongs>it with the <strongs number="6310">edge</strongs>of the <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5315">souls</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> were </em>therein he utterly <strongs number="2763">destroyed</strongs><strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>, according to <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>he had <strongs number="6213">done</strongs>to <strongs number="3923">Lachish</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='36'>And <strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs>went <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 5700">Eglon</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>him, unto <strongs number="2275">Hebron</strongs>; and they <strongs number="3898">fought</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>it: </verse>
      <verse number='37'>And they <strongs number="3920">took</strongs>it, and <strongs number="5221">smote</strongs>it with the <strongs number="6310">edge</strongs>of the <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>, and the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>thereof, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>thereof, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5315">souls</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> were </em>therein; he <strongs number="7604">left</strongs><strongs number="3808">none</strongs><strongs number="8300">remaining</strongs>, according to <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>he had <strongs number="6213">done</strongs>to <strongs number="5700">Eglon</strongs>; but <strongs number="2763">destroyed</strongs>it utterly, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5315">souls</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> were </em>therein. </verse>
      <verse number='38'>And <strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs><strongs number="7725">returned</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>him, to <strongs number="1688">Debir</strongs>; and <strongs number="3898">fought</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>it: </verse>

      <verse number='40'>So <strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs><strongs number="5221">smote</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="776">country</strongs>of the <strongs number="2022">hills</strongs>, and of the <strongs number="5045">south</strongs>, and of the <strongs number="8219">vale</strongs>, and of the <strongs number="794">springs</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>their <strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>: he <strongs number="7604">left</strongs><strongs number="3808">none</strongs><strongs number="8300">remaining</strongs>, but utterly <strongs number="2763">destroyed</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>that <strongs number="5397">breathed</strongs>, <strongs number="834">as</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="6680">commanded</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='41'>And <strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs><strongs number="5221">smote</strongs>them from <strongs number="4480 6947">Kadesh</strongs>-barnea even <strongs number="5704">unto</strongs><strongs number="5804">Gaza</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="776">country</strongs>of <strongs number="1657">Goshen</strongs>, even <strongs number="5704">unto</strongs><strongs number="1391">Gibeon</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='42'>And <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="428">these</strongs><strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>and their <strongs number="776">land</strongs>did <strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs><strongs number="3920">take</strongs>at <strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="6471">time</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="3898">fought</strongs>for <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='43'>And <strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs><strongs number="7725">returned</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>him, <strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="4264">camp</strongs>to <strongs number="1537">Gilgal</strongs>. </verse>
