      <verse number='1'>The <strongs number="1697">word</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><strongs number="1961">came</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="3414">Jeremiah</strongs><strongs number="4480 854">from</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, after <strongs number="310">that</strongs><strongs number="5018">Nebuzaradan</strongs>the <strongs number="7227">captain</strongs>of the <strongs number="2876">guard</strongs>had let him <strongs number="7971">go</strongs><strongs number="4480">from</strongs><strongs number="7414">Ramah</strongs>, when he had <strongs number="3947">taken</strongs>him being <strongs number="631">bound</strongs>in <strongs number="246">chains</strongs><strongs number="8432">among</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>that were carried away <strongs number="1546">captive</strongs>of <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>and <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, which were carried away <strongs number="1540">captive</strongs>unto <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>And the <strongs number="7227">captain</strongs>of the <strongs number="2876">guard</strongs><strongs number="3947">took</strongs><strongs number="3414">Jeremiah</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, The <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>thy <strongs number="430">God</strongs>hath <strongs number="1696">pronounced</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="7451">evil</strongs><strongs number="413">upon</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="4725">place</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>Now the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>hath <strongs number="935">brought</strongs><em> it </em>, and <strongs number="6213">done</strongs>according <strongs number="834">as</strongs>he hath <strongs number="1696">said</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>ye have <strongs number="2398">sinned</strongs>against the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, and have <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="8085">obeyed</strongs>his <strongs number="6963">voice</strongs>, therefore <strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="1697">thing</strongs>is <strongs number="1961">come</strongs>upon you. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>And <strongs number="6258">now</strongs>, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, I <strongs number="6605">loose</strongs>thee this <strongs number="3117">day</strongs><strongs number="4480">from</strongs>the <strongs number="246">chains</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs><em> were </em><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>thine <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>. <strongs number="518">If</strongs>it seem good unto <strongs number="2896 5869">thee</strongs>to <strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>me into <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>, <strongs number="935">come</strongs>; and I will look <strongs number="7760 *853 5869">well</strongs><strongs number="5921">unto</strongs>thee: but <strongs number="518">if</strongs>it seem ill unto <strongs number="7489 5869">thee</strongs>to <strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>me into <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>, <strongs number="2308">forbear</strongs>: <strongs number="7200">behold</strongs>, <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>thee: <strongs number="413">whither</strongs>it <strongs number="5869">seemeth</strongs><strongs number="2896">good</strongs>and <strongs number="3477">convenient</strongs>for thee to <strongs number="1980">go</strongs>, <strongs number="8033">thither</strongs><strongs number="1980">go</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>Now while he was <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5750">yet</strongs>gone <strongs number="7725">back</strongs>, <em> he </em><em> said </em>, Go <strongs number="7725">back</strongs>also <strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="1436">Gedaliah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="296">Ahikam</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="8227">Shaphan</strongs>, <strongs number="834">whom</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>hath made <strongs number="6485">governor</strongs>over the <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, and <strongs number="3427">dwell</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>him <strongs number="8432">among</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>: <strongs number="176">or</strongs><strongs number="1980">go</strongs><strongs number="413 3605">wheresoever</strongs>it <strongs number="5869">seemeth</strongs><strongs number="3477">convenient</strongs>unto thee to <strongs number="1980">go</strongs>. So the <strongs number="7227">captain</strongs>of the <strongs number="2876">guard</strongs><strongs number="5414">gave</strongs>him <strongs number="737">victuals</strongs>and a <strongs number="4864">reward</strongs>, and let him <strongs number="7971">go</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>Then <strongs number="935">went</strongs><strongs number="3414">Jeremiah</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="1436">Gedaliah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="296">Ahikam</strongs>to <strongs number="4708">Mizpah</strongs>; and <strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>him <strongs number="8432">among</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>that were <strongs number="7604">left</strongs>in the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>Now when <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="8269">captains</strongs>of the <strongs number="2428">forces</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs><em> were </em>in the <strongs number="7704">fields</strongs>, <em> even </em><strongs number="1992">they</strongs>and their <strongs number="376">men</strongs>, <strongs number="8085">heard</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>had made <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="1436">Gedaliah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="296">Ahikam</strongs><strongs number="6485">governor</strongs>in the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">and</strongs>had <strongs number="6485">committed</strongs><strongs number="854">unto</strongs>him <strongs number="376">men</strongs>, and <strongs number="802">women</strongs>, and <strongs number="2945">children</strongs>, and of the <strongs number="4480 1803">poor</strongs>of the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>, of them <strongs number="4480 834">that</strongs>were <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>carried away <strongs number="1540">captive</strongs>to <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='8'>Then they <strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="1436">Gedaliah</strongs>to <strongs number="4708">Mizpah</strongs>, even <strongs number="3458">Ishmael</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="5418">Nethaniah</strongs>, and <strongs number="3110">Johanan</strongs>and <strongs number="3129">Jonathan</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>of <strongs number="7143">Kareah</strongs>, and <strongs number="8304">Seraiah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="8576">Tanhumeth</strongs>, and the <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>of <strongs number="5778">Ephai</strongs>the <strongs number="5200">Netophathite</strongs>, and <strongs number="3153">Jezaniah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of a <strongs number="4602">Maachathite</strongs>, <strongs number="1992">they</strongs>and their <strongs number="376">men</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>And <strongs number="1436">Gedaliah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="296">Ahikam</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="8227">Shaphan</strongs><strongs number="7650">swore</strongs>unto them and to their <strongs number="376">men</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="3372">Fear</strongs><strongs number="408">not</strongs>to <strongs number="4480 5647">serve</strongs>the <strongs number="3778">Chaldeans</strongs>: <strongs number="3427">dwell</strongs>in the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>, and <strongs number="5647">serve</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>, and it shall be <strongs number="3190">well</strongs>with you. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>As for <strongs number="589">me</strongs>, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, I will <strongs number="3427">dwell</strongs>at <strongs number="4709">Mizpah</strongs>to <strongs number="5975 6440">serve</strongs>the <strongs number="3778">Chaldeans</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs>will <strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>us: but <strongs number="859">ye</strongs>, <strongs number="622">gather</strongs>ye <strongs number="3196">wine</strongs>, and summer <strongs number="7019">fruits</strongs>, and <strongs number="8081">oil</strongs>, and <strongs number="7760">put</strongs><em> them </em>in your <strongs number="3627">vessels</strongs>, and <strongs number="3427">dwell</strongs>in your <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>ye have <strongs number="8610">taken</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'><strongs number="1571">Likewise</strongs>when <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="3064">Jews</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> were </em>in <strongs number="4124">Moab</strongs>, and among the <strongs number="1121 5983">Ammonites</strongs>, and in <strongs number="123">Edom</strongs>, and <strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> were </em>in <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="776">countries</strongs>, <strongs number="8085">heard</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>had <strongs number="5414">left</strongs>a <strongs number="7611">remnant</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, and <strongs number="3588">that</strongs>he had <strongs number="6485">set</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs>them <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="1436">Gedaliah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="296">Ahikam</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="8227">Shaphan</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='12'>Even <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="3064">Jews</strongs><strongs number="7725">returned</strongs>out of <strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs><strongs number="4725">places</strongs><strongs number="834 8033">whither</strongs>they were <strongs number="5080">driven</strongs>, and <strongs number="935">came</strongs>to the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, <strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="1436">Gedaliah</strongs>, unto <strongs number="4708">Mizpah</strongs>, and <strongs number="622">gathered</strongs><strongs number="3196">wine</strongs>and summer <strongs number="7019">fruits</strongs><strongs number="3966">very</strongs><strongs number="7335">much</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>Moreover <strongs number="3110">Johanan</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="7143">Kareah</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="8269">captains</strongs>of the <strongs number="2428">forces</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> were </em>in the <strongs number="7704">fields</strongs>, <strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="1436">Gedaliah</strongs>to <strongs number="4708">Mizpah</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='14'>And <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, Dost thou certainly <strongs number="3045 3045">know</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="1185">Baalis</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of the <strongs number="1121 5983">Ammonites</strongs>hath <strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3458">Ishmael</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="5418">Nethaniah</strongs>to <strongs number="5221 5315">slay</strongs>thee? But <strongs number="1436">Gedaliah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="296">Ahikam</strongs><strongs number="539">believed</strongs>them <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>Then <strongs number="3110">Johanan</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="7143">Kareah</strongs><strongs number="559">spoke</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="1436">Gedaliah</strongs>in <strongs number="4709">Mizpah</strongs><strongs number="5643">secretly</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, Let me <strongs number="1980">go</strongs>, I pray <strongs number="4994">thee</strongs>, and I will <strongs number="5221">slay</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3458">Ishmael</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="5418">Nethaniah</strongs>, and <strongs number="3808">no</strongs><strongs number="376">man</strongs>shall <strongs number="3045">know</strongs><em> it </em>: <strongs number="4100">wherefore</strongs>should he <strongs number="5221 5315">slay</strongs>thee, that <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="3063">Jews</strongs>which are <strongs number="6908">gathered</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>thee should be <strongs number="6327">scattered</strongs>, and the <strongs number="7611">remnant</strongs>in <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="6">perish</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='16'>But <strongs number="1436">Gedaliah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="296">Ahikam</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="3110">Johanan</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="7143">Kareah</strongs>, Thou shalt <strongs number="408">not</strongs><strongs number="6213">do</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="1697">thing</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="859">thou</strongs><strongs number="1696">speakest</strongs><strongs number="8267">falsely</strongs><strongs number="413">of</strongs><strongs number="3458">Ishmael</strongs>. </verse>
