      <verse number='1'>To the chief <strongs number="5329">Musician</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs><strongs number="7799">Shoshannim</strongs>, <em> A </em><em> Psalm </em>of <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>. <strongs number="3467">Save</strongs>me, O <strongs number="430">God</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>the <strongs number="4325">waters</strongs>are come <strongs number="935">in</strongs><strongs number="5704">unto</strongs><em> my </em><strongs number="5315">soul</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>I <strongs number="2883">sink</strongs>in <strongs number="4688">deep</strongs><strongs number="3121">mire</strongs>, where <em> there </em><em> is </em><strongs number="369">no</strongs><strongs number="4613">standing</strongs>: I am <strongs number="935">come</strongs>into <strongs number="4615">deep</strongs><strongs number="4325">waters</strongs>, where the <strongs number="7641">floods</strongs><strongs number="7857">overflow</strongs>me. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>I am <strongs number="3021">weary</strongs>of my <strongs number="7121">crying</strongs>: my <strongs number="1627">throat</strongs>is <strongs number="2787">dried</strongs>: mine <strongs number="5869">eyes</strongs><strongs number="3615">fail</strongs>while I <strongs number="3176">wait</strongs>for my <strongs number="430">God</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>They that <strongs number="8130">hate</strongs>me without a <strongs number="2600">cause</strongs>are <strongs number="7231">more</strongs>than the <strongs number="4480 8185">hairs</strongs>of mine <strongs number="7218">head</strongs>: they that would <strongs number="6789">destroy</strongs>me, <em> being </em>mine <strongs number="341">enemies</strongs><strongs number="8267">wrongfully</strongs>, are <strongs number="6105">mighty</strongs>: <strongs number="227">then</strongs>I <strongs number="7725">restored</strongs><em> that </em><strongs number="834">which</strongs>I took not <strongs number="3808 1497">away</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>O <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, <strongs number="859">thou</strongs><strongs number="3045">knowest</strongs>my <strongs number="200">foolishness</strongs>; and my <strongs number="819">sins</strongs>are <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="3582">hid</strongs><strongs number="4480">from</strongs>thee. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>Let <strongs number="408">not</strongs>them that wait <strongs number="6960">on</strongs>thee, O <strongs number="136">Lord</strongs><strongs number="3069">GOD</strongs>of <strongs number="6635">hosts</strongs>, be <strongs number="954">ashamed</strongs>for my sake: let <strongs number="408">not</strongs>those that <strongs number="1245">seek</strongs>thee be <strongs number="3637">confounded</strongs>for my sake, O <strongs number="430">God</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'><strongs number="3588">Because</strongs>for thy <strongs number="5921">sake</strongs>I have <strongs number="5375">borne</strongs><strongs number="2781">reproach</strongs>; <strongs number="3639">shame</strongs>hath <strongs number="3680">covered</strongs>my <strongs number="6440">face</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>I am <strongs number="1961">become</strongs>a <strongs number="2114">stranger</strongs>unto my <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs>, and an <strongs number="5237">alien</strongs>unto my <strongs number="517">mother</strongs>'s <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs>the <strongs number="7068">zeal</strongs>of thine <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>hath eaten me <strongs number="398">up</strongs>; and the <strongs number="2781">reproaches</strongs>of them that <strongs number="2778">reproached</strongs>thee are <strongs number="5307">fallen</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>me. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>When I <strongs number="1058">wept</strongs>, <em> and </em><em> chastened </em>my <strongs number="5315">soul</strongs>with <strongs number="6685">fasting</strongs>, that <strongs number="1961">was</strongs>to my <strongs number="2781">reproach</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>I <strongs number="5414">made</strongs><strongs number="8242">sackcloth</strongs>also my <strongs number="3830">garment</strongs>; and I <strongs number="1961">became</strongs>a <strongs number="4912">proverb</strongs>to them. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>They that <strongs number="3427">sit</strongs>in the <strongs number="8179">gate</strongs><strongs number="7878">speak</strongs>against me; and I <em> was </em>the <strongs number="5058">song</strongs>of the <strongs number="8354 7941">drunkards</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>But as for <strongs number="589">me</strongs>, my <strongs number="8605">prayer</strongs><em> is </em>unto thee, O <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <em> in </em>an <strongs number="7522">acceptable</strongs><strongs number="6256">time</strongs>: O <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, in the <strongs number="7230">multitude</strongs>of thy <strongs number="2617">mercy</strongs><strongs number="6030">hear</strongs>me, in the <strongs number="571">truth</strongs>of thy <strongs number="3468">salvation</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'><strongs number="5337">Deliver</strongs>me out of the <strongs number="4480 2916">mire</strongs>, and let me <strongs number="408">not</strongs><strongs number="2883">sink</strongs>: let me be <strongs number="5337">delivered</strongs>from them that <strongs number="4480 8130">hate</strongs>me, and out of the <strongs number="4480 4615">deep</strongs><strongs number="4325">waters</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>Let <strongs number="408">not</strongs>the <strongs number="7641 4325">waterflood</strongs><strongs number="7857">overflow</strongs>me, <strongs number="408">neither</strongs>let the <strongs number="4688">deep</strongs>swallow me <strongs number="1104">up</strongs>, and let <strongs number="408">not</strongs>the <strongs number="875">pit</strongs><strongs number="332">shut</strongs>her <strongs number="6310">mouth</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>me. </verse>
      <verse number='16'><strongs number="6030">Hear</strongs>me, O <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>thy <strongs number="2617">lovingkindness</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="2896">good</strongs>: <strongs number="6437">turn</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>me according to the <strongs number="7230">multitude</strongs>of thy tender <strongs number="7356">mercies</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>And <strongs number="5641">hide</strongs><strongs number="408">not</strongs>thy <strongs number="6440">face</strongs>from thy <strongs number="4480 5650">servant</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>I am in <strongs number="6862">trouble</strongs>: <strongs number="6030">hear</strongs>me <strongs number="4116">speedily</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>Draw <strongs number="7126">nigh</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>my <strongs number="5315">soul</strongs>, <em> and </em><strongs number="1350">redeem</strongs>it: <strongs number="6299">deliver</strongs>me because <strongs number="4616">of</strongs>mine <strongs number="341">enemies</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='19'><strongs number="859">Thou</strongs>hast <strongs number="3045">known</strongs>my <strongs number="2781">reproach</strongs>, and my <strongs number="1322">shame</strongs>, and my <strongs number="3639">dishonor</strongs>: mine <strongs number="6887">adversaries</strongs><em> are </em><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="5048">before</strongs>thee. </verse>
      <verse number='20'><strongs number="2781">Reproach</strongs>hath <strongs number="7665">broken</strongs>my <strongs number="3820">heart</strongs>; and I am full of <strongs number="5136">heaviness</strongs>: and I <strongs number="6960">looked</strongs><em> for </em><em> some </em>to take <strongs number="5110">pity</strongs>, but <em> there </em><em> was </em><strongs number="369">none</strongs>; and for <strongs number="5162">comforters</strongs>, but I <strongs number="4672">found</strongs><strongs number="3808">none</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='21'>They <strongs number="5414">gave</strongs>me also <strongs number="7219">gall</strongs>for my <strongs number="1267">meat</strongs>; and in my <strongs number="6772">thirst</strongs>they gave me <strongs number="2558">vinegar</strongs>to <strongs number="8248">drink</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='22'>Let their <strongs number="7979">table</strongs><strongs number="1961">become</strongs>a <strongs number="6341">snare</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>them: and <em> that </em><em> which </em><em> should </em><em> have </em><em> been </em>for <em> their </em><strongs number="7965">welfare</strongs>, <em> let </em><em> it </em><em> become </em>a <strongs number="4170">trap</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='23'>Let their <strongs number="5869">eyes</strongs>be <strongs number="2821">darkened</strongs>, that they see <strongs number="4480 7200">not</strongs>; and make their <strongs number="4975">loins</strongs><strongs number="8548">continually</strongs>to <strongs number="4571">shake</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='24'>Pour <strongs number="8210">out</strongs>thine <strongs number="2195">indignation</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>them, and let thy <strongs number="2740">wrathful</strongs><strongs number="639">anger</strongs>take <strongs number="5381">hold</strongs>of them. </verse>
      <verse number='25'>Let their <strongs number="2918">habitation</strongs><strongs number="1961">be</strongs><strongs number="8074">desolate</strongs>; <em> and </em><strongs number="1961">let</strongs><strongs number="408">none</strongs><strongs number="3427">dwell</strongs>in their <strongs number="168">tents</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='26'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs>they <strongs number="7291">persecute</strongs><em> him </em><strongs number="834">whom</strongs><strongs number="859">thou</strongs>hast <strongs number="5221">smitten</strongs>; and they <strongs number="5608">talk</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="4341">grief</strongs>of those whom thou hast <strongs number="2491">wounded</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='27'><strongs number="5414">Add</strongs><strongs number="5771">iniquity</strongs><strongs number="5921">unto</strongs>their <strongs number="5771">iniquity</strongs>: and let them <strongs number="408">not</strongs><strongs number="935">come</strongs>into thy <strongs number="6666">righteousness</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='28'>Let them be <strongs number="4229">blotted</strongs>out of the <strongs number="4480 5612">book</strongs>of the <strongs number="2416">living</strongs>, and <strongs number="408">not</strongs>be <strongs number="3789">written</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>the <strongs number="6662">righteous</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='29'>But <strongs number="589">I</strongs><em> am </em><strongs number="6041">poor</strongs>and <strongs number="3510">sorrowful</strongs>: let thy <strongs number="3444">salvation</strongs>, O <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, set me up on <strongs number="7682">high</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='30'>I will <strongs number="1984">praise</strongs>the <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>of <strongs number="430">God</strongs>with a <strongs number="7892">song</strongs>, and will <strongs number="1431">magnify</strongs>him with <strongs number="8426">thanksgiving</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='31'><em> This </em>also shall <strongs number="3190">please</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>better than an <strongs number="4480 7794">ox</strongs><em> or </em><strongs number="6499">bullock</strongs>that hath <strongs number="7160">horns</strongs>and <strongs number="6536">hooves</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='32'>The <strongs number="6035">humble</strongs>shall <strongs number="7200">see</strongs><em> this, </em><em> and </em>be <strongs number="8055">glad</strongs>: and your <strongs number="3824">heart</strongs>shall <strongs number="2421">live</strongs>that <strongs number="1875">seek</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='33'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="8085 413">heareth</strongs>the <strongs number="34">poor</strongs>, and <strongs number="959">despiseth</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>his <strongs number="615">prisoners</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='34'>Let the <strongs number="8064">heaven</strongs>and <strongs number="776">earth</strongs><strongs number="1984">praise</strongs>him, the <strongs number="3220">seas</strongs>, and every <strongs number="3605">thing</strongs>that <strongs number="7430">moveth</strongs>therein. </verse>
      <verse number='35'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>will <strongs number="3467">save</strongs><strongs number="6726">Zion</strongs>, and will <strongs number="1129">build</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>: that they may <strongs number="3427">dwell</strongs><strongs number="8033">there</strongs>, and have it in <strongs number="3423">possession</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='36'>The <strongs number="2233">seed</strongs>also of his <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs>shall <strongs number="5157">inherit</strongs>it: and they that <strongs number="157">love</strongs>his <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>shall <strongs number="7931">dwell</strongs>therein. </verse>
