      <verse number='1'>But it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, that <strongs number="834">when</strongs><strongs number="5571">Sanballat</strongs><strongs number="8085">heard</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="587">we</strongs><strongs number="1129">built</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="2346">wall</strongs>, he was <strongs number="2734">wroth</strongs>, and took great <strongs number="7235 3707">indignation</strongs>, and <strongs number="3932 5921">mocked</strongs>the <strongs number="3064">Jews</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>And he <strongs number="559">spoke</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>his <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs>and the <strongs number="2428">army</strongs>of <strongs number="8111">Samaria</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="4100">What</strongs><strongs number="6213">do</strongs>these <strongs number="537">feeble</strongs><strongs number="3064">Jews</strongs>? will they <strongs number="5800">fortify</strongs>themselves? will they <strongs number="2076">sacrifice</strongs>? will they make an <strongs number="3615">end</strongs>in a <strongs number="3117">day</strongs>? will they <strongs number="2421">revive</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="68">stones</strongs>out of the <strongs number="4480 6194">heaps</strongs>of the <strongs number="6083">rubbish</strongs><strongs number="1992">which</strongs>are <strongs number="8313">burned</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='3'>Now <strongs number="2900">Tobiah</strongs>the <strongs number="5984">Ammonite</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="681">by</strongs>him, and he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="1571">Even</strongs>that <strongs number="834">which</strongs><strongs number="1992">they</strongs><strongs number="1129">build</strongs>, <strongs number="518">if</strongs>a <strongs number="7776">fox</strongs>go <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>, he shall even break <strongs number="6555">down</strongs>their <strongs number="68">stone</strongs><strongs number="2346">wall</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'><strongs number="8085">Hear</strongs>, O our <strongs number="430">God</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>we <strongs number="1961">are</strongs><strongs number="939">despised</strongs>: and <strongs number="7725">turn</strongs>their <strongs number="2781">reproach</strongs><strongs number="413">upon</strongs>their own <strongs number="7218">head</strongs>, and <strongs number="5414">give</strongs>them for a <strongs number="961">prey</strongs>in the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="7633">captivity</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='5'>And <strongs number="3680 5921">cover</strongs><strongs number="408">not</strongs>their <strongs number="5771">iniquity</strongs>, and let <strongs number="408">not</strongs>their <strongs number="2403">sin</strongs>be blotted <strongs number="4229">out</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 6440">before</strongs>thee: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>they have provoked <em> thee </em>to <strongs number="3707">anger</strongs><strongs number="5048">before</strongs>the <strongs number="1129">builders</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>So <strongs number="1129">built</strongs>we <strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="2346">wall</strongs>; and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="2346">wall</strongs>was joined <strongs number="7194">together</strongs><strongs number="5704">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="2677">half</strongs>thereof: for the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs><strongs number="1961">had</strongs>a <strongs number="3820">mind</strongs>to <strongs number="6213">work</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>But it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, <em> that </em><strongs number="834">when</strongs><strongs number="5571">Sanballat</strongs>, and <strongs number="2900">Tobiah</strongs>, and the <strongs number="6163">Arabians</strongs>, and the <strongs number="5984">Ammonites</strongs>, and the <strongs number="796">Ashdodites</strongs>, <strongs number="8085">heard</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>the <strongs number="2346">walls</strongs>of <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>were made <strongs number="5927 724">up</strongs>, <em> and </em><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>the <strongs number="6555">breaches</strongs><strongs number="2490">began</strongs>to be <strongs number="5640">stopped</strongs>, then they were <strongs number="3966">very</strongs><strongs number="2734">wroth</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='8'>And <strongs number="7194">conspired</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>of them <strongs number="3162">together</strongs>to <strongs number="935">come</strongs><em> and </em>to <strongs number="3898">fight</strongs>against <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, and to <strongs number="6213 8442">hinder</strongs>it. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>Nevertheless we made our <strongs number="6419">prayer</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>our <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, and <strongs number="5975">set</strongs>a <strongs number="4929">watch</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>them <strongs number="3119">day</strongs>and <strongs number="3915">night</strongs>, because <strongs number="4480 6440">of</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>And <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, The <strongs number="3581">strength</strongs>of the bearers of <strongs number="5449">burdens</strongs>is <strongs number="3782">decayed</strongs>, and <em> there </em><em> is </em><strongs number="7235">much</strongs><strongs number="6083">rubbish</strongs>; so that <strongs number="587">we</strongs>are <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="3201">able</strongs>to <strongs number="1129">build</strongs>the <strongs number="2346">wall</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>And our <strongs number="6862">adversaries</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, They shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="3045">know</strongs>, <strongs number="3808">neither</strongs><strongs number="7200">see</strongs>, <strongs number="5704 834">till</strongs>we <strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="413">in</strongs>the midst <strongs number="8432">among</strongs>them, and <strongs number="2026">slay</strongs>them, and cause <strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4399">work</strongs>to <strongs number="7673">cease</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, that <strongs number="834">when</strongs>the <strongs number="3064">Jews</strongs>which <strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs><strongs number="681">by</strongs>them <strongs number="935">came</strongs>, they <strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto us <strongs number="6235">ten</strongs><strongs number="6471">times</strongs>, From <strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs><strongs number="4725">places</strongs><strongs number="834">whence</strongs>ye shall <strongs number="7725">return</strongs><strongs number="5921">unto</strongs>us <em> they </em><em> will </em><em> be </em><em> upon </em><em> you </em>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>Therefore <strongs number="5975">set</strongs>I in the <strongs number="4480 8482">lower</strongs><strongs number="4725">places</strongs><strongs number="4480 310">behind</strongs>the <strongs number="2346">wall</strongs>, <em> and </em>on the higher <strongs number="6706">places</strongs>, I even <strongs number="5975">set</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>after their <strongs number="4940">families</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>their <strongs number="2719">swords</strongs>, their <strongs number="7420">spears</strongs>, and their <strongs number="7198">bows</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'>And I <strongs number="7200">looked</strongs>, and rose <strongs number="6965">up</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="2715">nobles</strongs>, and <strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="5461">rulers</strongs>, and <strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="3499">rest</strongs>of the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, Be <strongs number="408">not</strongs>ye <strongs number="3372">afraid</strongs><strongs number="4480 6440">of</strongs>them: <strongs number="2142">remember</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="136">Lord</strongs>, <em> which </em><em> is </em><strongs number="1419">great</strongs>and <strongs number="3372">terrible</strongs>, and <strongs number="3898">fight</strongs><strongs number="5921">for</strongs>your <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs>, your <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>, and your <strongs number="1323">daughters</strongs>, your <strongs number="802">wives</strongs>, and your <strongs number="1004">houses</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, <strongs number="834">when</strongs>our <strongs number="341">enemies</strongs><strongs number="8085">heard</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>it was <strongs number="3045">known</strongs>unto us, and <strongs number="430">God</strongs>had brought their counsel to <strongs number="6565 *853 6098">naught</strongs>, that we <strongs number="7725">returned</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>of us <strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="2346">wall</strongs>, every <strongs number="376">one</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>his <strongs number="4399">work</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs><strongs number="4480">from</strongs><strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="3117">time</strongs>forth, <em> that </em>the <strongs number="2677">half</strongs>of my <strongs number="5288">servants</strongs><strongs number="6213">wrought</strongs>in the <strongs number="4399">work</strongs>, and the other <strongs number="2677">half</strongs>of them <strongs number="2388">held</strongs>both the <strongs number="7420">spears</strongs>, the <strongs number="4043">shields</strongs>, and the <strongs number="7198">bows</strongs>, and the <strongs number="8302">habergeons</strongs>; and the <strongs number="8269">rulers</strongs><em> were </em><strongs number="310">behind</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>They which <strongs number="1129">built</strongs>on the <strongs number="2346">wall</strongs>, and they that <strongs number="5375">bore</strongs><strongs number="5447">burdens</strongs>, with those that <strongs number="6006">laded</strongs>, <em> every </em><em> one </em>with <strongs number="259">one</strongs>of his <strongs number="3027">hands</strongs><strongs number="6213">wrought</strongs>in the <strongs number="4399">work</strongs>, and with the <strongs number="259">other</strongs><em> hand </em><strongs number="2388">held</strongs>a <strongs number="7973">weapon</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>For the <strongs number="1129">builders</strongs>, every <strongs number="376">one</strongs>had his <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs><strongs number="631">girded</strongs><strongs number="5921">by</strongs>his <strongs number="4975">side</strongs>, and <em> so </em><strongs number="1129">built</strongs>. And he that <strongs number="8628">sounded</strongs>the <strongs number="7782">trumpet</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="681">by</strongs>me. </verse>
      <verse number='19'>And I <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="2715">nobles</strongs>, and <strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="5461">rulers</strongs>, and <strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="3499">rest</strongs>of the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, The <strongs number="4399">work</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="7235">great</strongs>and <strongs number="7342">large</strongs>, and <strongs number="587">we</strongs>are <strongs number="6504">separated</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>the <strongs number="2346">wall</strongs>, <strongs number="376">one</strongs><strongs number="7350">far</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 251">another</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='20'>In <strongs number="834">what</strongs><strongs number="4725">place</strongs><em> therefore </em>ye <strongs number="8085">hear</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="6963">sound</strongs>of the <strongs number="7782">trumpet</strongs>, <strongs number="6908">resort</strongs>ye <strongs number="8033">thither</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>us: our <strongs number="430">God</strongs>shall <strongs number="3898">fight</strongs>for us. </verse>
      <verse number='21'>So <strongs number="587">we</strongs><strongs number="6213">labored</strongs>in the <strongs number="4399">work</strongs>: and <strongs number="2677">half</strongs>of them <strongs number="2388">held</strongs>the <strongs number="7420">spears</strongs>from the <strongs number="4480 5927">rising</strongs>of the <strongs number="7837">morning</strongs><strongs number="5704">till</strongs>the <strongs number="3556">stars</strongs><strongs number="3318">appeared</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='22'><strongs number="1571">Likewise</strongs>at the <strongs number="1931">same</strongs><strongs number="6256">time</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>I unto the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, Let every <strongs number="376">one</strongs>with his <strongs number="5288">servant</strongs><strongs number="3885">lodge</strongs><strongs number="8432">within</strongs><strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, that in the <strongs number="3915">night</strongs>they may <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>a <strongs number="4929">guard</strongs>to us, and <strongs number="4399">labor</strongs>on the <strongs number="3117">day</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='23'>So <strongs number="369">neither</strongs><strongs number="589">I</strongs>, nor my <strongs number="251">brethren</strongs>, nor my <strongs number="5288">servants</strongs>, nor the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>of the <strongs number="4929">guard</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs><strongs number="310">followed</strongs>me, <strongs number="369">none</strongs>of <strongs number="587">us</strongs>put <strongs number="6584">off</strongs>our <strongs number="899">clothes</strongs>, <em> saving </em><em> that </em>every <strongs number="376">one</strongs>put them <strongs number="7971">off</strongs>for <strongs number="4325">washing</strongs>. </verse>
