      <verse number='2'>And he <strongs number="6213">did</strongs><em> that </em><em> which </em><em> was </em><strongs number="7451">evil</strongs>in the <strongs number="5869">sight</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, and <strongs number="1980 310">followed</strongs>the <strongs number="2403">sins</strongs>of <strongs number="3379">Jeroboam</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="5028">Nebat</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs>made <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>to <strongs number="2398">sin</strongs>; he <strongs number="5493">departed</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="4480">therefrom</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>And the <strongs number="639">anger</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>was <strongs number="2734">kindled</strongs>against <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, and he <strongs number="5414">delivered</strongs>them into the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of <strongs number="2371">Hazael</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="758">Syria</strongs>, and into the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of <strongs number="1130">Ben</strongs>-hadad the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="2371">Hazael</strongs>, <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><em> their </em><strongs number="3117">days</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>And <strongs number="3059">Jehoahaz</strongs><strongs number="2470">besought</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="6440 3068">LORD</strongs>, and the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="8085">hearkened</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>he <strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3906">oppression</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="758">Syria</strongs><strongs number="3905">oppressed</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>(And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="5414">gave</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>a <strongs number="3467">savior</strongs>, so that they went <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 8478">under</strongs>the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of the <strongs number="758">Syrians</strongs>: and the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs>in their <strongs number="168">tents</strongs>, as <strongs number="8543 8032">formerly</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'><strongs number="389">Nevertheless</strongs>they <strongs number="5493">departed</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>from the <strongs number="4480 2403">sins</strongs>of the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="3379">Jeroboam</strongs>, <strongs number="834">who</strongs>made <strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="2398">sin</strongs>, <em> but </em><strongs number="1980">walked</strongs>therein: and there <strongs number="5975">remained</strongs>the <strongs number="842">grove</strongs><strongs number="1571">also</strongs>in <strongs number="8111">Samaria</strongs>.) </verse>
      <verse number='7'><strongs number="3588 3808">Neither</strongs>did he <strongs number="7604">leave</strongs>of the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>to <strongs number="3059">Jehoahaz</strongs><strongs number="3588 518">but</strongs><strongs number="2572">fifty</strongs><strongs number="6571">horsemen</strongs>, and <strongs number="6235">ten</strongs><strongs number="7393">chariots</strongs>, and <strongs number="6235">ten</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="7273">footmen</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="758">Syria</strongs>had <strongs number="6">destroyed</strongs>them, and had <strongs number="7760">made</strongs>them like the <strongs number="6083">dust</strongs>by <strongs number="1758">threshing</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>Now the <strongs number="3499">rest</strongs>of the <strongs number="1697">acts</strongs>of <strongs number="3059">Jehoahaz</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>he <strongs number="6213">did</strongs>, and his <strongs number="1369">might</strongs>, <em> are </em><strongs number="1992">they</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="3789">written</strongs><strongs number="5921">in</strongs>the <strongs number="5612">book</strongs>of the <strongs number="1697 3117">chronicles</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='9'>And <strongs number="3059">Jehoahaz</strongs><strongs number="7901">slept</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>his <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>; and they <strongs number="6912">buried</strongs>him in <strongs number="8111">Samaria</strongs>: and <strongs number="3101">Joash</strongs>his <strongs number="1121">son</strongs><strongs number="4427">reigned</strongs>in his <strongs number="8478">stead</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='14'>Now <strongs number="477">Elisha</strongs>was fallen <strongs number="2470">sick</strongs><strongs number="854">of</strongs>his <strongs number="2483">sickness</strongs><strongs number="834">whereof</strongs>he <strongs number="4191">died</strongs>. And <strongs number="3101">Joash</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>came <strongs number="3381">down</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, and <strongs number="1058">wept</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs>his <strongs number="6440">face</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, O my <strongs number="1">father</strongs>, my <strongs number="1">father</strongs>, the <strongs number="7393">chariot</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, and the <strongs number="6571">horsemen</strongs>thereof. </verse>

      <verse number='16'>And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>to the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <strongs number="7392">Put</strongs>thine <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>the <strongs number="7198">bow</strongs>. And he <strongs number="7392">put</strongs>his <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs><em> upon </em><em> it </em>: and <strongs number="477">Elisha</strongs><strongs number="7760">put</strongs>his <strongs number="3027">hands</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>'s <strongs number="3027">hands</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="6605">Open</strongs>the <strongs number="2474">window</strongs><strongs number="6924">eastward</strongs>. And he <strongs number="6605">opened</strongs><em> it </em>. Then <strongs number="477">Elisha</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="3384">Shoot</strongs>. And he <strongs number="3384">shot</strongs>. And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, The <strongs number="2671">arrow</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>'s <strongs number="8668">deliverance</strongs>, and the <strongs number="2671">arrow</strongs>of <strongs number="8668">deliverance</strongs>from <strongs number="758">Syria</strongs>: for thou shalt <strongs number="5221">smite</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="758">Syrians</strongs>in <strongs number="663">Aphek</strongs>, <strongs number="5704">till</strongs>thou have <strongs number="3615">consumed</strongs><em> them </em>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="3947">Take</strongs>the <strongs number="2671">arrows</strongs>. And he <strongs number="3947">took</strongs><em> them </em>. And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <strongs number="5221">Smite</strongs>upon the <strongs number="776">ground</strongs>.       <verse number='19'>And the <strongs number="376">man</strongs>of <strongs number="430">God</strongs>was <strongs number="7107">wroth</strongs><strongs number="5921">with</strongs>him, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, Thou shouldest have <strongs number="5221">smitten</strongs><strongs number="2568">five</strongs><strongs number="176">or</strongs><strongs number="8337">six</strongs><strongs number="6471">times</strongs>; <strongs number="227">then</strongs>hadst thou <strongs number="5221">smitten</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="758">Syria</strongs><strongs number="5704">till</strongs>thou hadst <strongs number="3615">consumed</strongs><em> it </em>: whereas <strongs number="6258">now</strongs>thou shalt <strongs number="5221">smite</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="758">Syria</strongs><em> but </em><strongs number="7969 6471">thrice</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='20'>And <strongs number="477">Elisha</strongs><strongs number="4191">died</strongs>, and they <strongs number="6912">buried</strongs>him. And the <strongs number="1416">bands</strongs>of the <strongs number="4124">Moabites</strongs><strongs number="935">invaded</strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>at the coming <strongs number="935">in</strongs>of the <strongs number="8141">year</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='21'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, as <strongs number="1992">they</strongs>were <strongs number="6912">burying</strongs>a <strongs number="376">man</strongs>, that, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, they <strongs number="7200">spied</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>a <strongs number="1416">band</strongs><em> of </em><em> men </em>; and they <strongs number="7993">cast</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="376">man</strongs>into the <strongs number="6913">sepulcher</strongs>of <strongs number="477">Elisha</strongs>: and when the <strongs number="376">man</strongs>was let <strongs number="1980">down</strongs>, and <strongs number="5060">touched</strongs>the <strongs number="6106">bones</strongs>of <strongs number="477">Elisha</strongs>, he <strongs number="2421">revived</strongs>, and stood <strongs number="6965">up</strongs><strongs number="5921">on</strongs>his <strongs number="7272">feet</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='22'>But <strongs number="2371">Hazael</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="758">Syria</strongs><strongs number="3905">oppressed</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="3117">days</strongs>of <strongs number="3059">Jehoahaz</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='23'>And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>was <strongs number="2603">gracious</strongs>unto them, and had compassion <strongs number="7355">on</strongs>them, and had <strongs number="6437">respect</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>them, <strongs number="4616">because</strongs>of his <strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs><strongs number="85">Abraham</strongs>, <strongs number="3327">Isaac</strongs>, and <strongs number="3290">Jacob</strongs>, and <strongs number="14">would</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="7843">destroy</strongs>them, <strongs number="3808">neither</strongs><strongs number="7993">cast</strongs>he them <strongs number="4480 5921">from</strongs>his <strongs number="6440">presence</strongs><strongs number="5704">as</strongs><strongs number="6258">yet</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='25'>And <strongs number="3060">Jehoash</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="3059">Jehoahaz</strongs><strongs number="3947">took</strongs><strongs number="7725">again</strongs>out of the <strongs number="4480 3027">hand</strongs>of <strongs number="1130">Ben</strongs>-hadad the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="2371">Hazael</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs>he had <strongs number="3947">taken</strongs>out of the <strongs number="4480 3027">hand</strongs>of <strongs number="3059">Jehoahaz</strongs>his <strongs number="1">father</strongs>by <strongs number="4421">war</strongs>. <strongs number="7969">Three</strongs><strongs number="6471">times</strongs>did <strongs number="3101">Joash</strongs><strongs number="5221">beat</strongs>him, and <strongs number="7725">recovered</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
