      <verse number='2'>And <strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="376">men</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 3405">Jericho</strongs>to <strongs number="5857">Ai</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="5973">beside</strongs><strongs number="1007">Beth</strongs>-aven, on the east <strongs number="4480 6924">side</strongs>of <strongs number="1008">Bethel</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">spoke</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>them, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, Go <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>and <strongs number="7270">view</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="776">country</strongs>.       <verse number='7'>And <strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="162">Alas</strongs>, O <strongs number="136">Lord</strongs><strongs number="3069">GOD</strongs>, <strongs number="4100">wherefore</strongs>hast thou at all <strongs number="5674 5674">brought</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="5971">people</strongs><strongs number="5674">over</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3383">Jordan</strongs>, to <strongs number="5414">deliver</strongs>us into the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of the <strongs number="567">Amorites</strongs>, to <strongs number="6">destroy</strongs>us? would to <strongs number="3863">God</strongs>we had been <strongs number="2974">content</strongs>, and <strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs>on the other <strongs number="5676">side</strongs><strongs number="3383">Jordan</strongs>! </verse>
      <verse number='8'><strongs number="994">O</strongs><strongs number="136">Lord</strongs>, <strongs number="4100">what</strongs>shall I <strongs number="559">say</strongs>, <strongs number="310 834">when</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="2015">turneth</strongs>their <strongs number="6203">backs</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>their <strongs number="341">enemies</strongs>! </verse>

      <verse number='15'>And it shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>, <em> that </em>he that is <strongs number="3920">taken</strongs>with the accursed <strongs number="2764">thing</strongs>shall be <strongs number="8313">burnt</strongs>with <strongs number="784">fire</strongs>, he and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>he hath: <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>he hath <strongs number="5674">transgressed</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, and <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>he hath <strongs number="6213">wrought</strongs><strongs number="5039">folly</strongs>in <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>So <strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs>rose up <strongs number="7925">early</strongs>in the <strongs number="1242">morning</strongs>, and <strongs number="7126">brought</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>by their <strongs number="7626">tribes</strongs>; and the <strongs number="7626">tribe</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>was <strongs number="3920">taken</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='17'>And he <strongs number="7126">brought</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4940">family</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>; and he <strongs number="3920">took</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4940">family</strongs>of the <strongs number="2227">Zarhites</strongs>: and he <strongs number="7126">brought</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4940">family</strongs>of the <strongs number="2227">Zarhites</strongs>man by <strongs number="1397">man</strongs>; and <strongs number="2067">Zabdi</strongs>was <strongs number="3920">taken</strongs>: </verse>

      <verse number='21'>When I <strongs number="7200">saw</strongs>among the <strongs number="7998">spoils</strongs><strongs number="259">a</strongs><strongs number="2896">goodly</strongs><strongs number="8152">Babylonish</strongs><strongs number="155">garment</strongs>, and two <strongs number="3967">hundred</strongs><strongs number="8255">shekels</strongs>of <strongs number="3701">silver</strongs>, and <strongs number="259">a</strongs><strongs number="3956">wedge</strongs>of <strongs number="2091">gold</strongs>of <strongs number="2572">fifty</strongs><strongs number="8255">shekels</strongs><strongs number="4948">weight</strongs>, then I <strongs number="2530">coveted</strongs>them, and <strongs number="3947">took</strongs>them; and, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, they <em> are </em><strongs number="2934">hid</strongs>in the <strongs number="776">earth</strongs>in the <strongs number="8432">midst</strongs>of my <strongs number="168">tent</strongs>, and the <strongs number="3701">silver</strongs><strongs number="8478">under</strongs>it. </verse>
      <verse number='22'>So <strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="4397">messengers</strongs>, and they <strongs number="7323">ran</strongs>unto the <strongs number="168">tent</strongs>; and, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, <em> it </em><em> was </em><strongs number="2934">hid</strongs>in his <strongs number="168">tent</strongs>, and the <strongs number="3701">silver</strongs><strongs number="8478">under</strongs>it. </verse>

      <verse number='25'>And <strongs number="3091">Joshua</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="4100">Why</strongs>hast thou <strongs number="5916">troubled</strongs>us? the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>shall <strongs number="5916">trouble</strongs>thee <strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>. And <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="5619">stoned</strongs>him with <strongs number="68">stones</strongs>, and <strongs number="8313">burned</strongs>them with <strongs number="784">fire</strongs>, after they had <strongs number="7275">stoned</strongs>them with <strongs number="68">stones</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='26'>And they <strongs number="6965">raised</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs>him a <strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="1530">heap</strongs>of <strongs number="68">stones</strongs><strongs number="5704">unto</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>.
