      <verse number='1'>The <strongs number="4853">burden</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs><strongs number="2265">Habakkuk</strongs>the <strongs number="5030">prophet</strongs>did <strongs number="2372">see</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>O <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, how <strongs number="5704 575">long</strongs>shall I <strongs number="7768">cry</strongs>, and thou wilt <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="8085">hear</strongs>! <em> even </em>cry <strongs number="2199">out</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>thee <em> of </em><strongs number="2555">violence</strongs>, and thou wilt <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="3467">save</strongs>! </verse>
      <verse number='3'><strongs number="4100">Why</strongs>dost thou <strongs number="7200">show</strongs>me <strongs number="205">iniquity</strongs>, and cause <em> me </em>to <strongs number="5027">behold</strongs><strongs number="5999">grievance</strongs>? for <strongs number="7701">spoiling</strongs>and <strongs number="2555">violence</strongs><em> are </em><strongs number="5048">before</strongs>me: and there <strongs number="1961">are</strongs><em> that </em>raise <strongs number="5375">up</strongs><strongs number="7379">strife</strongs>and <strongs number="4066">contention</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'><strongs number="5921 3651">Therefore</strongs>the <strongs number="8451">law</strongs>is <strongs number="6313">slacked</strongs>, and <strongs number="4941">judgment</strongs>doth <strongs number="3808 5331">never</strongs>go <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>the <strongs number="7563">wicked</strongs>doth compass <strongs number="3803">about</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="6662">righteous</strongs>; <strongs number="5921 3651">therefore</strongs><strongs number="6127">wrong</strongs><strongs number="4941">judgment</strongs><strongs number="3318">proceedeth</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'><strongs number="7200">Behold</strongs>ye among the <strongs number="1471">heathen</strongs>, and <strongs number="5027">regard</strongs>, and wonder <strongs number="8539 8539">marvelously</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><em> I </em>will <strongs number="6466">work</strongs>a <strongs number="6467">work</strongs>in your <strongs number="3117">days</strongs>, <em> which </em>ye will <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="539">believe</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">though</strongs>it be <strongs number="5608">told</strongs><em> you </em>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs>, <strongs number="2009">lo</strongs>, I raise <strongs number="6965">up</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3778">Chaldeans</strongs>, <em> that </em><strongs number="4751">bitter</strongs>and <strongs number="4116">hasty</strongs><strongs number="1471">nation</strongs>, which shall <strongs number="1980">march</strongs>through the <strongs number="4800">breadth</strongs>of the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>, to <strongs number="3423">possess</strongs>the dwelling <strongs number="4908">places</strongs><em> that </em><em> are </em><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>theirs. </verse>
      <verse number='7'><strongs number="1931">They</strongs><em> are </em><strongs number="366">terrible</strongs>and <strongs number="3372">dreadful</strongs>: their <strongs number="4941">judgment</strongs>and their <strongs number="7613">dignity</strongs>shall <strongs number="3318">proceed</strongs><strongs number="4480">of</strongs>themselves. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>Their <strongs number="5483">horses</strongs>also are <strongs number="7043">swifter</strongs>than the <strongs number="4480 5246">leopards</strongs>, and are more <strongs number="2300">fierce</strongs>than the <strongs number="6153">evening</strongs><strongs number="4480 2061">wolves</strongs>: and their <strongs number="6571">horsemen</strongs>shall <strongs number="6335">spread</strongs>themselves, and their <strongs number="6571">horsemen</strongs>shall <strongs number="935">come</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 7350">far</strongs>; they shall <strongs number="5774">fly</strongs>as the <strongs number="5404">eagle</strongs><em> that </em><strongs number="2363">hasteth</strongs>to <strongs number="398">eat</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>They shall <strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>for <strongs number="2555">violence</strongs>: their <strongs number="6440">faces</strongs>shall sup <strongs number="4041">up</strongs><em> as </em>the east <strongs number="6921">wind</strongs>, and they shall <strongs number="622">gather</strongs>the <strongs number="7628">captivity</strongs>as the <strongs number="2344">sand</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>And <strongs number="1931">they</strongs>shall <strongs number="7046">scoff</strongs>at the <strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>, and the <strongs number="7336">princes</strongs>shall be a <strongs number="4890">scorn</strongs>unto them: <strongs number="1931">they</strongs>shall <strongs number="7832">deride</strongs><strongs number="3605">every</strongs><strongs number="4013">stronghold</strongs>; for they shall <strongs number="6651">heap</strongs><strongs number="6083">dust</strongs>, and <strongs number="3920">take</strongs>it. </verse>
      <verse number='11'><strongs number="227">Then</strongs>shall <em> his </em><strongs number="7307">mind</strongs><strongs number="2498">change</strongs>, and he shall pass <strongs number="5674">over</strongs>, and <strongs number="816">offend</strongs>, <em> imputing </em><strongs number="2098">this</strongs>his <strongs number="3581">power</strongs>unto his <strongs number="433">god</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'><em> Art </em><strongs number="859">thou</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 6924">everlasting</strongs>, O <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>my <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, mine Holy <strongs number="6918">One</strongs>? we shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="4191">die</strongs>. O <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, thou hast <strongs number="7760">ordained</strongs>them for <strongs number="4941">judgment</strongs>; and, O mighty <strongs number="6697">God</strongs>, thou hast <strongs number="3245">established</strongs>them for <strongs number="3198">correction</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'><em> Thou </em><em> art </em>of <strongs number="2889">purer</strongs><strongs number="5869">eyes</strongs>than to <strongs number="4480 7200">behold</strongs><strongs number="7451">evil</strongs>, and <strongs number="3201">canst</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5027">look</strongs><strongs number="413">on</strongs><strongs number="5999">iniquity</strongs>: <strongs number="4100">wherefore</strongs><strongs number="5027">lookest</strongs>thou upon them that deal <strongs number="898">treacherously</strongs>, <em> and </em>holdest thy <strongs number="2790">tongue</strongs>when the <strongs number="7563">wicked</strongs><strongs number="1104">devoureth</strongs><em> the </em><em> man </em><em> that </em><em> is </em>more <strongs number="6662">righteous</strongs><strongs number="4480">than</strongs>he? </verse>
      <verse number='14'>And <strongs number="6213">makest</strongs><strongs number="120">men</strongs>as the <strongs number="1709">fishes</strongs>of the <strongs number="3220">sea</strongs>, as the creeping <strongs number="7431">things</strongs>, <em> that </em><em> have </em><strongs number="3808">no</strongs><strongs number="4910">ruler</strongs>over them? </verse>
      <verse number='15'>They take <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>of them with the <strongs number="2443">angle</strongs>, they <strongs number="1641">catch</strongs>them in their <strongs number="2764">net</strongs>, and <strongs number="622">gather</strongs>them in their <strongs number="4365">drag</strongs>: <strongs number="5921 3651">therefore</strongs>they <strongs number="8055">rejoice</strongs>and are <strongs number="1523">glad</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'><strongs number="5921 3651">Therefore</strongs>they <strongs number="2076">sacrifice</strongs>unto their <strongs number="2764">net</strongs>, and burn <strongs number="6999">incense</strongs>unto their <strongs number="4365">drag</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>by <strongs number="1992">them</strongs>their <strongs number="2506">portion</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="8082">fat</strongs>, and their <strongs number="3978">meat</strongs><strongs number="1277">plenteous</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>Shall they <strongs number="5921 3651">therefore</strongs><strongs number="7324">empty</strongs>their <strongs number="2764">net</strongs>, and <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="2550">spare</strongs><strongs number="8548">continually</strongs>to <strongs number="2026">slay</strongs>the <strongs number="1471">nations</strongs>? </verse>
