      <verse number='1'><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><em> is </em>an <strongs number="1238">empty</strongs><strongs number="1612">vine</strongs>, he bringeth <strongs number="7737">forth</strongs><strongs number="6529">fruit</strongs>unto himself: according to the <strongs number="7230">multitude</strongs>of his <strongs number="6529">fruit</strongs>he hath <strongs number="7235">increased</strongs>the <strongs number="4196">altars</strongs>; according to the <strongs number="2896">goodness</strongs>of his <strongs number="776">land</strongs>they have made <strongs number="3190">goodly</strongs><strongs number="4676">images</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>Their <strongs number="3820">heart</strongs>is <strongs number="2505">divided</strongs>; <strongs number="6258">now</strongs>shall they be found <strongs number="816">faulty</strongs>: <strongs number="1931">he</strongs>shall break <strongs number="6202">down</strongs>their <strongs number="4196">altars</strongs>, he shall <strongs number="7703">spoil</strongs>their <strongs number="4676">images</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs><strongs number="6258">now</strongs>they shall <strongs number="559">say</strongs>, We have <strongs number="369">no</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>we <strongs number="3372">feared</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>; <strongs number="4100">what</strongs>then should a <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="6213">do</strongs>to us? </verse>
      <verse number='4'>They have <strongs number="1696">spoken</strongs><strongs number="1697">words</strongs>, <strongs number="422">swearing</strongs><strongs number="7723">falsely</strongs>in <strongs number="3772">making</strongs>a <strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs>: thus <strongs number="4941">judgment</strongs>springeth <strongs number="6524">up</strongs>as <strongs number="7219">hemlock</strongs><strongs number="5921">in</strongs>the <strongs number="8525">furrows</strongs>of the <strongs number="7704">field</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>The <strongs number="7934">inhabitants</strongs>of <strongs number="8111">Samaria</strongs>shall <strongs number="1481">fear</strongs>because of the <strongs number="5697">calves</strongs>of <strongs number="1007">Beth</strongs>-aven: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>thereof shall <strongs number="56">mourn</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs>it, and the <strongs number="3649">priests</strongs>thereof <em> that </em><strongs number="1523">rejoiced</strongs><strongs number="5921">on</strongs>it, <strongs number="5921">for</strongs>the <strongs number="3519">glory</strongs>thereof, <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>it is <strongs number="1540">departed</strongs><strongs number="4480">from</strongs>it. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>It shall be <strongs number="1571">also</strongs><strongs number="2986">carried</strongs>unto <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs><em> for </em>a <strongs number="4503">present</strongs>to <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="3377">Jareb</strongs>: <strongs number="669">Ephraim</strongs>shall <strongs number="3947">receive</strongs><strongs number="1317">shame</strongs>, and <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>shall be <strongs number="954">ashamed</strongs>of his own <strongs number="4480 6098">counsel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'><em> As </em><em> for </em><strongs number="8111">Samaria</strongs>, her <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>is cut <strongs number="1820">off</strongs>as the <strongs number="7110">foam</strongs><strongs number="5921 6440">upon</strongs>the <strongs number="4325">water</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>The high <strongs number="1116">places</strongs>also of <strongs number="206">Aven</strongs>, the <strongs number="2403">sin</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, shall be <strongs number="8045">destroyed</strongs>: the <strongs number="6975">thorn</strongs>and the <strongs number="1863">thistle</strongs>shall come <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="5921">on</strongs>their <strongs number="4196">altars</strongs>; and they shall <strongs number="559">say</strongs>to the <strongs number="2022">mountains</strongs>, <strongs number="3680">Cover</strongs>us; and to the <strongs number="1389">hills</strongs>, <strongs number="5307">Fall</strongs><strongs number="5921">on</strongs>us. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>O <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, thou hast <strongs number="2398">sinned</strongs>from the <strongs number="4480 3117">days</strongs>of <strongs number="1390">Gibeah</strongs>: <strongs number="8033">there</strongs>they <strongs number="5975">stood</strongs>: the <strongs number="4421">battle</strongs>in <strongs number="1390">Gibeah</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="5932">iniquity</strongs>did <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5381">overtake</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='10'><em> It </em><em> is </em>in my <strongs number="185">desire</strongs>that I should <strongs number="3256">chastise</strongs>them; and the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>shall be <strongs number="622">gathered</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>them, when they shall <strongs number="631">bind</strongs>themselves in their <strongs number="8147">two</strongs><strongs number="5869">furrows</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>And <strongs number="669">Ephraim</strongs><em> is </em><em> as </em>a <strongs number="5697">heifer</strongs><em> that </em><em> is </em><strongs number="3925">taught</strongs>, <em> and </em><strongs number="157">loveth</strongs>to tread <strongs number="1758">out</strongs><em> the </em><em> corn </em>; but <strongs number="589">I</strongs>passed <strongs number="5674">over</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>her <strongs number="2898">fair</strongs><strongs number="6677">neck</strongs>: I will make <strongs number="669">Ephraim</strongs>to <strongs number="7392">ride</strongs>; <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>shall <strongs number="2790">plow</strongs>, <em> and </em><strongs number="3290">Jacob</strongs>shall break his <strongs number="7702">clods</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'><strongs number="2232">Sow</strongs>to yourselves in <strongs number="6666">righteousness</strongs>, <strongs number="7114">reap</strongs><strongs number="6310">in</strongs><strongs number="2617">mercy</strongs>; break <strongs number="5214">up</strongs>your fallow <strongs number="5215">ground</strongs>: for <em> it </em><em> is </em><strongs number="6256">time</strongs>to <strongs number="1875">seek</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="5704">till</strongs>he <strongs number="935">come</strongs>and <strongs number="3384">rain</strongs><strongs number="6664">righteousness</strongs>upon you. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>Ye have <strongs number="2790">plowed</strongs><strongs number="7562">wickedness</strongs>, ye have <strongs number="7114">reaped</strongs><strongs number="5766">iniquity</strongs>; ye have <strongs number="398">eaten</strongs>the <strongs number="6529">fruit</strongs>of <strongs number="3585">lies</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>thou didst <strongs number="982">trust</strongs>in thy <strongs number="1870">way</strongs>, in the <strongs number="7230">multitude</strongs>of thy mighty <strongs number="1368">men</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'>Therefore shall a <strongs number="7588">tumult</strongs><strongs number="6965">arise</strongs>among thy <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>thy <strongs number="4013">fortresses</strongs>shall be <strongs number="7703">spoiled</strongs>, as <strongs number="8020">Shalman</strongs><strongs number="7701">spoiled</strongs><strongs number="1009">Beth</strongs>-arbel in the <strongs number="3117">day</strongs>of <strongs number="4421">battle</strongs>: the <strongs number="517">mother</strongs>was dashed in <strongs number="7376">pieces</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs><em> her </em><strongs number="1121">children</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'><strongs number="3602">So</strongs>shall <strongs number="1008">Bethel</strongs><strongs number="6213">do</strongs>unto you <strongs number="4480 6440">because</strongs>of your great <strongs number="7451 7451">wickedness</strongs>: in a <strongs number="7837">morning</strongs>shall the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>utterly be cut <strongs number="1820 1820">off</strongs>. </verse>
