      <verse number='2'><strongs number="8085">Hear</strongs>, O <strongs number="8064">heavens</strongs>, and give <strongs number="238">ear</strongs>, O <strongs number="776">earth</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>hath <strongs number="1696">spoken</strongs>, I have <strongs number="1431">nourished</strongs>and brought <strongs number="7311">up</strongs><strongs number="1121">children</strongs>, and <strongs number="1992">they</strongs>have <strongs number="6586">rebelled</strongs>against me. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>The <strongs number="7794">ox</strongs><strongs number="3045">knoweth</strongs>his <strongs number="7069">owner</strongs>, and the <strongs number="2543">ass</strongs>his <strongs number="1167">master</strongs>'s <strongs number="18">crib</strongs>: <em> but </em><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>doth <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="3045">know</strongs>, my <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>doth <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="995">consider</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'><strongs number="1945">Ah</strongs><strongs number="2398">sinful</strongs><strongs number="1471">nation</strongs>, a <strongs number="5971">people</strongs><strongs number="3515">laden</strongs>with <strongs number="5771">iniquity</strongs>, a <strongs number="2233">seed</strongs>of <strongs number="7489">evildoers</strongs>, <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>that are <strongs number="7843">corrupters</strongs>: they have <strongs number="5800">forsaken</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, they have <strongs number="5006">provoked</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the Holy <strongs number="6918">One</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>unto anger, they are gone <strongs number="2114">away</strongs><strongs number="268">backward</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'><strongs number="5921 4100">Why</strongs>should ye be <strongs number="5221">stricken</strongs>any <strongs number="5750">more</strongs>? ye will <strongs number="5627">revolt</strongs>more and <strongs number="3254">more</strongs>: the <strongs number="3605">whole</strongs><strongs number="7218">head</strongs>is <strongs number="2483">sick</strongs>, and the <strongs number="3605">whole</strongs><strongs number="3824">heart</strongs><strongs number="1742">faint</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>From the <strongs number="4480 3709">sole</strongs>of the <strongs number="7272">foot</strongs>even <strongs number="5704">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="7218">head</strongs><em> there </em><em> is </em><strongs number="369">no</strongs><strongs number="4974">soundness</strongs>in it; <em> but </em><strongs number="6482">wounds</strongs>, and <strongs number="2250">bruises</strongs>, and <strongs number="2961">putrefying</strongs><strongs number="4347">sores</strongs>: they have <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>been <strongs number="2115">closed</strongs>, <strongs number="3808">neither</strongs>bound <strongs number="2280">up</strongs>, <strongs number="3808">neither</strongs><strongs number="7401">mollified</strongs>with <strongs number="8081">ointment</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>Your <strongs number="776">country</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="8077">desolate</strongs>, your <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs><em> are </em><strongs number="8313">burned</strongs>with <strongs number="784">fire</strongs>: your <strongs number="127">land</strongs>, <strongs number="2114">strangers</strongs><strongs number="398">devour</strongs>it in your <strongs number="5048">presence</strongs>, and <em> it </em><em> is </em><strongs number="8077">desolate</strongs>, as <strongs number="4114">overthrown</strongs>by <strongs number="2114">strangers</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>And the <strongs number="1323">daughter</strongs>of <strongs number="6726">Zion</strongs>is <strongs number="3498">left</strongs>as a <strongs number="5521">cottage</strongs>in a <strongs number="3754">vineyard</strongs>, as a <strongs number="4412">lodge</strongs>in a garden of <strongs number="4750">cucumbers</strongs>, as a <strongs number="5341">besieged</strongs><strongs number="5892">city</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'><strongs number="3884">Except</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>of <strongs number="6635">hosts</strongs>had <strongs number="3498">left</strongs>unto us a very <strongs number="4592">small</strongs><strongs number="8300">remnant</strongs>, we should have <strongs number="1961">been</strongs>as <strongs number="5467">Sodom</strongs>, <em> and </em>we should have been <strongs number="1819">like</strongs>unto <strongs number="6017">Gomorrah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'><strongs number="8085">Hear</strongs>the <strongs number="1697">word</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, ye <strongs number="7101">rulers</strongs>of <strongs number="5467">Sodom</strongs>; give <strongs number="238">ear</strongs>unto the <strongs number="8451">law</strongs>of our <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, ye <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>of <strongs number="6017">Gomorrah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>To <strongs number="4100">what</strongs>purpose <em> is </em>the <strongs number="7230">multitude</strongs>of your <strongs number="2077">sacrifices</strongs>unto me? <strongs number="559">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>: I am <strongs number="7646">full</strongs>of the burnt <strongs number="5930">offerings</strongs>of <strongs number="352">rams</strongs>, and the <strongs number="2459">fat</strongs>of fed <strongs number="4806">beasts</strongs>; and I <strongs number="2654">delight</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>in the <strongs number="1818">blood</strongs>of <strongs number="6499">bullocks</strongs>, or of <strongs number="3532">lambs</strongs>, or of he <strongs number="6260">goats</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'><strongs number="3588">When</strongs>ye <strongs number="935">come</strongs>to <strongs number="7200">appear</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>me, <strongs number="4310">who</strongs>hath <strongs number="1245">required</strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs>at your <strongs number="4480 3027">hand</strongs>, to <strongs number="7429">tread</strongs>my <strongs number="2691">courts</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='13'><strongs number="935">Bring</strongs><strongs number="3808">no</strongs><strongs number="3254">more</strongs><strongs number="7723">vain</strongs><strongs number="4503">oblations</strongs>; <strongs number="7004">incense</strongs>is an <strongs number="8441">abomination</strongs>unto me; the new <strongs number="2320">moons</strongs>and <strongs number="7676">sabbaths</strongs>, the <strongs number="7121">calling</strongs>of <strongs number="4744">assemblies</strongs>, I <strongs number="3808 3201">cannot</strongs>away with; <em> it </em><em> is </em><strongs number="205">iniquity</strongs>, even the solemn <strongs number="6116">meeting</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='18'><strongs number="1980">Come</strongs><strongs number="4994">now</strongs>, and let us reason <strongs number="3198">together</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>: <strongs number="518">though</strongs>your <strongs number="2399">sins</strongs><strongs number="1961">be</strongs>as <strongs number="8144">scarlet</strongs>, they shall be as <strongs number="3835">white</strongs>as <strongs number="7950">snow</strongs>; <strongs number="518">though</strongs>they be <strongs number="119">red</strongs>like <strongs number="8438">crimson</strongs>, they shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>as <strongs number="6785">wool</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='21'><strongs number="349">How</strongs>is the <strongs number="539">faithful</strongs><strongs number="7151">city</strongs><strongs number="1961">become</strongs>a <strongs number="2181">harlot</strongs>! it was <strongs number="4392">full</strongs>of <strongs number="4941">judgment</strongs>; <strongs number="6664">righteousness</strongs><strongs number="3885">lodged</strongs>in it; but <strongs number="6258">now</strongs><strongs number="7523">murderers</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='22'>Thy <strongs number="3701">silver</strongs>is <strongs number="1961">become</strongs><strongs number="5509">dross</strongs>, thy <strongs number="5435">wine</strongs><strongs number="4107">mixed</strongs>with <strongs number="4325">water</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='23'>Thy <strongs number="8269">princes</strongs><em> are </em><strongs number="5637">rebellious</strongs>, and <strongs number="2270">companions</strongs>of <strongs number="1590">thieves</strongs>: every <strongs number="3605">one</strongs><strongs number="157">loveth</strongs><strongs number="7810">gifts</strongs>, and followeth <strongs number="7291">after</strongs><strongs number="8021">rewards</strongs>: they <strongs number="8199">judge</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>the <strongs number="3490">fatherless</strongs>, <strongs number="3808">neither</strongs>doth the <strongs number="7379">cause</strongs>of the <strongs number="490">widow</strongs><strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='24'><strongs number="3651">Therefore</strongs><strongs number="5002">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="113">Lord</strongs>, the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>of <strongs number="6635">hosts</strongs>, the mighty <strongs number="46">One</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <strongs number="1945">Ah</strongs>, I will <strongs number="5162">ease</strongs>me of mine <strongs number="4480 6862">adversaries</strongs>, and <strongs number="5358">avenge</strongs>me of mine <strongs number="4480 341">enemies</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='25'>And I will <strongs number="7725">turn</strongs>my <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>thee, and <strongs number="1252">purely</strongs>purge <strongs number="6884">away</strongs>thy <strongs number="5509">dross</strongs>, and take <strongs number="5493">away</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>thy <strongs number="913">tin</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='26'>And I will <strongs number="7725">restore</strongs>thy <strongs number="8199">judges</strongs>as at the <strongs number="7223">first</strongs>, and thy <strongs number="3289">counselors</strongs>as at the <strongs number="8462">beginning</strongs>: <strongs number="310 3651">afterward</strongs>thou shalt be <strongs number="7121">called</strongs>, The <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>of <strongs number="6664">righteousness</strongs>, the <strongs number="539">faithful</strongs><strongs number="7151">city</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='27'><strongs number="6726">Zion</strongs>shall be <strongs number="6299">redeemed</strongs>with <strongs number="4941">judgment</strongs>, and her <strongs number="7725">converts</strongs>with <strongs number="6666">righteousness</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='28'>And the <strongs number="7667">destruction</strongs>of the <strongs number="6586">transgressors</strongs>and of the <strongs number="2400">sinners</strongs><em> shall </em><em> be </em><strongs number="3162">together</strongs>, and they that <strongs number="5800">forsake</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>shall be <strongs number="3615">consumed</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='29'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs>they shall be <strongs number="954">ashamed</strongs>of the <strongs number="4480 352">oaks</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>ye have <strongs number="2530">desired</strongs>, and ye shall be <strongs number="2659">confounded</strongs>for the <strongs number="4480 1593">gardens</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>ye have <strongs number="977">chosen</strongs>. </verse>
