      <verse number='1'>And <strongs number="1130">Ben</strongs>-hadad the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="758">Syria</strongs>gathered all his host <strongs number="6908 *853 3605 2428">together</strongs>: and <em> there </em><em> were </em><strongs number="7970">thirty</strongs>and <strongs number="8147">two</strongs><strongs number="4428">kings</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs>him, and <strongs number="5483">horses</strongs>, and <strongs number="7393">chariots</strongs>: and he went <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>and <strongs number="6696 5921">besieged</strongs><strongs number="8111">Samaria</strongs>, and <strongs number="3898">warred</strongs>against it. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>And he <strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="4397">messengers</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="256">Ahab</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>into the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto him, <strongs number="3541">Thus</strongs><strongs number="559">saith</strongs><strongs number="1130">Ben</strongs>-hadad, </verse>
      <verse number='3'>Thy <strongs number="3701">silver</strongs>and thy <strongs number="2091">gold</strongs><em> is </em>mine; thy <strongs number="802">wives</strongs>also and thy <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>, <em> even </em>the <strongs number="2896">goodliest</strongs>, <em> are </em>mine. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>And the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="6030">answered</strongs>and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, My <strongs number="113">lord</strongs>, O <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, according to thy <strongs number="1697">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="589">I</strongs><em> am </em>thine, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>I have. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>And the <strongs number="4397">messengers</strongs>came <strongs number="7725">again</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="3541">Thus</strongs><strongs number="559">speaketh</strongs><strongs number="1130">Ben</strongs>-hadad, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">Although</strongs>I have <strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>thee, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, Thou shalt <strongs number="5414">deliver</strongs>me thy <strongs number="3701">silver</strongs>, and thy <strongs number="2091">gold</strongs>, and thy <strongs number="802">wives</strongs>, and thy <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='6'><strongs number="3588">Yet</strongs>I will <strongs number="7971">send</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>my <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>thee <strongs number="4279">tomorrow</strongs><strongs number="518">about</strongs>this <strongs number="6256">time</strongs>, and they shall <strongs number="2664">search</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>thine <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>, and the <strongs number="1004">houses</strongs>of thy <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs>; and it shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>, <em> that </em><strongs number="3605">whatsoever</strongs>is <strongs number="4261">pleasant</strongs>in thine <strongs number="5869">eyes</strongs>, they shall <strongs number="7760">put</strongs><em> it </em>in their <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>, and take <em> it </em><strongs number="3947">away</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='9'>Wherefore he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto the <strongs number="4397">messengers</strongs>of <strongs number="1130">Ben</strongs>-hadad, <strongs number="559">Tell</strongs>my <strongs number="113">lord</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, <strongs number="3605">All</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>thou didst <strongs number="7971">send</strongs>for <strongs number="413">to</strongs>thy <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs>at the <strongs number="7223">first</strongs>I will <strongs number="6213">do</strongs>: but <strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="1697">thing</strongs>I <strongs number="3201">may</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="6213">do</strongs>.       <verse number='10'>And <strongs number="1130">Ben</strongs>-hadad <strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, The <strongs number="430">gods</strongs><strongs number="6213">do</strongs><strongs number="3541">so</strongs>unto me, and <strongs number="3254">more</strongs><strongs number="3541">also</strongs>, <strongs number="518">if</strongs>the <strongs number="6083">dust</strongs>of <strongs number="8111">Samaria</strongs>shall <strongs number="5606">suffice</strongs>for <strongs number="8168">handfuls</strongs>for <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><strongs number="7272">follow</strongs>me. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>And the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="6030">answered</strongs>and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="1696">Tell</strongs><em> him </em>, Let <strongs number="408">not</strongs>him that <strongs number="2296">girdeth</strongs>on <em> his </em><em> harness </em>boast <strongs number="1984">himself</strongs>as he that putteth it <strongs number="6605">off</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, when <em> Ben-hadad </em><strongs number="8085">heard</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="1697">message</strongs>, as <strongs number="1931">he</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="8354">drinking</strongs>, <strongs number="1931">he</strongs>and the <strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>in the <strongs number="5521">pavilions</strongs>, that he <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>his <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs>, <strongs number="7760">Set</strongs><em> yourselves </em><em> in </em><em> array </em>. And they <strongs number="7760">set</strongs><em> themselves </em><em> in </em><em> array </em><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>And, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, there <strongs number="5066">came</strongs><strongs number="259">a</strongs><strongs number="5030">prophet</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="256">Ahab</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="3541">Thus</strongs><strongs number="559">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, Hast thou <strongs number="7200">seen</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="1995">multitude</strongs>? <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, I will <strongs number="5414">deliver</strongs>it into thine <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>this <strongs number="3117">day</strongs>; and thou shalt <strongs number="3045">know</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="589">I</strongs><em> am </em>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'>And <strongs number="256">Ahab</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, By <strongs number="4310">whom</strongs>? And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="3541">Thus</strongs><strongs number="559">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <em> Even </em>by the young <strongs number="5288">men</strongs>of the <strongs number="8269">princes</strongs>of the <strongs number="4082">provinces</strongs>. Then he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="4310">Who</strongs>shall <strongs number="631">order</strongs>the <strongs number="4421">battle</strongs>? And he <strongs number="559">answered</strongs>, <strongs number="859">Thou</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>Then he <strongs number="6485">numbered</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the young <strongs number="5288">men</strongs>of the <strongs number="8269">princes</strongs>of the <strongs number="4082">provinces</strongs>, and they <strongs number="1961">were</strongs>two <strongs number="3967">hundred</strongs>and <strongs number="7970">thirty</strongs><strongs number="8147">two</strongs>: and <strongs number="310">after</strongs>them he <strongs number="6485">numbered</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>, <em> even </em><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <em> being </em><strongs number="7651">seven</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs>. </verse>

But <strongs number="1130">Ben</strongs>-hadad <em> was </em><strongs number="8354">drinking</strongs>himself <strongs number="7910">drunk</strongs>in the <strongs number="5521">pavilions</strongs>, <strongs number="1931">he</strongs>and the <strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>, the <strongs number="7970">thirty</strongs>and <strongs number="8147">two</strongs><strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>that <strongs number="5826">helped</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>And the young <strongs number="5288">men</strongs>of the <strongs number="8269">princes</strongs>of the <strongs number="4082">provinces</strongs>went <strongs number="3318">out</strongs><strongs number="7223">first</strongs>; and <strongs number="1130">Ben</strongs>-hadad sent <strongs number="7971">out</strongs>, and they <strongs number="5046">told</strongs>him, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, There are <strongs number="376">men</strongs>come <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>of <strongs number="4480 8111">Samaria</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="518">Whether</strongs>they be come <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>for <strongs number="7965">peace</strongs>, <strongs number="8610">take</strongs>them <strongs number="2416">alive</strongs>; or <strongs number="518">whether</strongs>they be come <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>for <strongs number="4421">war</strongs>, <strongs number="8610">take</strongs>them <strongs number="2416">alive</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='19'>So <strongs number="428">these</strongs>young <strongs number="5288">men</strongs>of the <strongs number="8269">princes</strongs>of the <strongs number="4082">provinces</strongs>came <strongs number="3318">out</strongs><strongs number="4480">of</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, and the <strongs number="2428">army</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs><strongs number="310">followed</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='20'>And they <strongs number="5221">slew</strongs>every <strongs number="376">one</strongs>his <strongs number="376">man</strongs>: and the <strongs number="758">Syrians</strongs><strongs number="5127">fled</strongs>; and <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="7291">pursued</strongs>them: and <strongs number="1130">Ben</strongs>-hadad the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="758">Syria</strongs><strongs number="4422">escaped</strongs><strongs number="5921">on</strongs>a <strongs number="5483">horse</strongs>with the <strongs number="6571">horsemen</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='21'>And the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>went <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>, and <strongs number="5221">smote</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="5483">horses</strongs>and <strongs number="7393">chariots</strongs>, and <strongs number="5221">slew</strongs>the <strongs number="758">Syrians</strongs>with a <strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="4347">slaughter</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='22'>And the <strongs number="5030">prophet</strongs><strongs number="5066">came</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto him, <strongs number="1980">Go</strongs>, strengthen <strongs number="2388">thyself</strongs>, and <strongs number="3045">mark</strongs>, and <strongs number="7200">see</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="834">what</strongs>thou <strongs number="6213">doest</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>at the <strongs number="8666">return</strongs>of the <strongs number="8141">year</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="758">Syria</strongs>will come <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>thee. </verse>
      <verse number='23'>And the <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="758">Syria</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, Their <strongs number="430">gods</strongs><em> are </em><strongs number="430">gods</strongs>of the <strongs number="2022">hills</strongs>; <strongs number="5921 3651">therefore</strongs>they were <strongs number="2388">stronger</strongs><strongs number="4480">than</strongs>we; <strongs number="199">but</strongs>let us <strongs number="3898">fight</strongs><strongs number="854">against</strongs>them in the <strongs number="4334">plain</strongs>, and <strongs number="518">surely</strongs>, we shall be <strongs number="3808 2388">stronger</strongs><strongs number="4480">than</strongs>they. </verse>
      <verse number='24'>And <strongs number="6213">do</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="1697">thing</strongs>, Take the kings <strongs number="5493 4428">away</strongs>, every <strongs number="376">man</strongs>out of his <strongs number="4480 4725">place</strongs>, and <strongs number="7760">put</strongs><strongs number="6346">captains</strongs>in their <strongs number="8478">rooms</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='25'>And <strongs number="859 4487">number</strongs>thee an <strongs number="2428">army</strongs>, like the <strongs number="2428">army</strongs>that thou hast <strongs number="5307 4480 *853">lost</strongs>, <strongs number="5483">horse</strongs>for <strongs number="5483">horse</strongs>, and <strongs number="7393">chariot</strongs>for <strongs number="7393">chariot</strongs>: and we will fight <strongs number="3898">against</strongs>them in the <strongs number="4334">plain</strongs>, <em> and </em><strongs number="518 3808">surely</strongs>we shall be <strongs number="2388">stronger</strongs><strongs number="4480">than</strongs>they.       <verse number='26'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>at the <strongs number="8666">return</strongs>of the <strongs number="8141">year</strongs>, that <strongs number="1130">Ben</strongs>-hadad <strongs number="6485">numbered</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="758">Syrians</strongs>, and went <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>to <strongs number="663">Aphek</strongs>, to <strongs number="4421">fight</strongs><strongs number="5973">against</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='27'>And the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>were <strongs number="6485">numbered</strongs>, and were all <strongs number="3557">present</strongs>, and <strongs number="1980">went</strongs><strongs number="7121">against</strongs>them: and the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="2583">pitched</strongs><strongs number="5048">before</strongs>them like <strongs number="8147">two</strongs>little <strongs number="2835">flocks</strongs>of <strongs number="5795">kids</strongs>; but the <strongs number="758">Syrians</strongs><strongs number="4390">filled</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="776">country</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='28'>And there <strongs number="5066">came</strongs>a <strongs number="376">man</strongs>of <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">spoke</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="3541">Thus</strongs><strongs number="559">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="3282 834">Because</strongs>the <strongs number="758">Syrians</strongs>have <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, The <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="430">God</strongs>of the <strongs number="2022">hills</strongs>, but <strongs number="1931">he</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>of the <strongs number="6010">valleys</strongs>, therefore will I <strongs number="5414">deliver</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="1995">multitude</strongs>into thine <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>, and ye shall <strongs number="3045">know</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="589">I</strongs><em> am </em>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='29'>And they <strongs number="2583">pitched</strongs><strongs number="428">one</strongs>over <strongs number="5227">against</strongs>the <strongs number="428">other</strongs><strongs number="7651">seven</strongs><strongs number="3117">days</strongs>. And <em> so </em>it <strongs number="1961">was</strongs>, that in the <strongs number="7637">seventh</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>the <strongs number="4421">battle</strongs>was <strongs number="7126">joined</strongs>: and the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="5221">slew</strongs>of <strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="758">Syrians</strongs>a <strongs number="3967">hundred</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="7273">footmen</strongs>in <strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='30'>But the <strongs number="3498">rest</strongs><strongs number="5127">fled</strongs>to <strongs number="663">Aphek</strongs>, <strongs number="413">into</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>; and <em> there </em>a <strongs number="2346">wall</strongs><strongs number="5307">fell</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs><strongs number="6242">twenty</strongs>and <strongs number="7651">seven</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs>of the <strongs number="376">men</strongs><em> that </em><em> were </em><strongs number="3498">left</strongs>. And <strongs number="1130">Ben</strongs>-hadad <strongs number="5127">fled</strongs>, and <strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="413">into</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>, into an inner <strongs number="2315 2315">chamber</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='31'>And his <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs><strongs number="4994">now</strongs>, we have <strongs number="8085">heard</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>of the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><em> are </em><strongs number="2617">merciful</strongs><strongs number="4428">kings</strongs>: let us, I pray <strongs number="4994">thee</strongs>, <strongs number="7760">put</strongs><strongs number="8242">sackcloth</strongs>on our <strongs number="4975">loins</strongs>, and <strongs number="2256">ropes</strongs>upon our <strongs number="7218">heads</strongs>, and go <strongs number="3318">out</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>: <strongs number="194">peradventure</strongs>he will <strongs number="2421">save</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>thy <strongs number="5315">life</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='32'>So they <strongs number="2296">girded</strongs><strongs number="8242">sackcloth</strongs>on their <strongs number="4975">loins</strongs>, and <em> put </em><strongs number="2256">ropes</strongs>on their <strongs number="7218">heads</strongs>, and <strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, Thy <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs><strongs number="1130">Ben</strongs>-hadad <strongs number="559">saith</strongs>, I pray <strongs number="4994">thee</strongs>, let <strongs number="5315">me</strongs><strongs number="2421">live</strongs>. And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <em> Is </em>he <strongs number="5750">yet</strongs><strongs number="2416">alive</strongs>? <strongs number="1931">he</strongs><em> is </em>my <strongs number="251">brother</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='33'>Now the <strongs number="376">men</strongs>did diligently <strongs number="5172">observe</strongs>whether <em> any </em><em> thing </em><em> would </em><em> come </em><strongs number="4480">from</strongs>him, and did <strongs number="4116">hastily</strongs><strongs number="2480">catch</strongs><em> it </em>: and they <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, Thy <strongs number="251">brother</strongs><strongs number="1130">Ben</strongs>-hadad. Then he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="935">Go</strongs>ye, <strongs number="3947">bring</strongs>him. Then <strongs number="1130">Ben</strongs>-hadad came <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>him; and he caused him to come <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="5921">into</strongs>the <strongs number="4818">chariot</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='34'>And <em> Ben-hadad </em><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, The <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs>my <strongs number="1">father</strongs><strongs number="3947">took</strongs><strongs number="4480 854">from</strongs>thy <strongs number="1">father</strongs>, I will <strongs number="7725">restore</strongs>; and thou shalt <strongs number="7760">make</strongs><strongs number="2351">streets</strongs>for thee in <strongs number="1834">Damascus</strongs>, <strongs number="834">as</strongs>my <strongs number="1">father</strongs><strongs number="7760">made</strongs>in <strongs number="8111">Samaria</strongs>. Then <em> said </em><em> Ahab </em>, <strongs number="589">I</strongs>will send thee <strongs number="7971">away</strongs>with this <strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs>. So he <strongs number="3772">made</strongs>a <strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs>with him, and sent him <strongs number="7971">away</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='35'>And a <strongs number="259">certain</strongs><strongs number="376">man</strongs>of the <strongs number="4480 1121">sons</strongs>of the <strongs number="5030">prophets</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>his <strongs number="7453">neighbor</strongs>in the <strongs number="1697">word</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="5221">Smite</strongs>me, I pray <strongs number="4994">thee</strongs>. And the <strongs number="376">man</strongs><strongs number="3985">refused</strongs>to <strongs number="5221">smite</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='36'>Then <strongs number="559">said</strongs>he unto him, <strongs number="3282 834">Because</strongs>thou hast <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="8085">obeyed</strongs>the <strongs number="6963">voice</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, as soon as thou art <strongs number="1980">departed</strongs><strongs number="4480 *853">from</strongs>me, a <strongs number="738">lion</strongs>shall <strongs number="5221">slay</strongs>thee. And as soon as he was <strongs number="1980">departed</strongs><strongs number="4480 681">from</strongs>him, a <strongs number="738">lion</strongs><strongs number="4672">found</strongs>him, and <strongs number="5221">slew</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='37'>Then he <strongs number="4672">found</strongs><strongs number="312">another</strongs><strongs number="376">man</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="5221">Smite</strongs>me, I pray <strongs number="4994">thee</strongs>. And the <strongs number="376">man</strongs><strongs number="5221">smote</strongs>him, so that in <strongs number="5221">smiting</strongs>he <strongs number="6481">wounded</strongs><em> him </em>. </verse>
      <verse number='38'>So the <strongs number="5030">prophet</strongs><strongs number="1980">departed</strongs>, and <strongs number="5975">waited</strongs>for the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="5921">by</strongs>the <strongs number="1870">way</strongs>, and disguised <strongs number="2664">himself</strongs>with <strongs number="666">ashes</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>his <strongs number="5869">face</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='39'>And <strongs number="1961">as</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>passed <strongs number="5674">by</strongs>, <strongs number="1931">he</strongs><strongs number="6817">cried</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>: and he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, Thy <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs>went <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>into the <strongs number="7130">midst</strongs>of the <strongs number="4421">battle</strongs>; and, <strongs number="2009">behold</strongs>, a <strongs number="376">man</strongs>turned <strongs number="5493">aside</strongs>, and <strongs number="935">brought</strongs>a <strongs number="376">man</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>me, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="8104">Keep</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="376">man</strongs>: <strongs number="518">if</strongs>by any means he be <strongs number="6485 6485">missing</strongs>, then shall thy <strongs number="5315">life</strongs><strongs number="1961">be</strongs><strongs number="8478">for</strongs>his <strongs number="5315">life</strongs>, <strongs number="176">or</strongs>else thou shalt <strongs number="8254">pay</strongs>a <strongs number="3603">talent</strongs>of <strongs number="3701">silver</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='40'>And as thy <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs><strongs number="1961">was</strongs><strongs number="6213">busy</strongs><strongs number="2008">here</strongs>and <strongs number="2008">there</strongs>, <strongs number="1931">he</strongs>was <strongs number="369">gone</strongs>. And the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, <strongs number="3651">So</strongs><em> shall </em>thy <strongs number="4941">judgment</strongs><em> be </em>; <strongs number="859">thyself</strongs>hast <strongs number="2782">decided</strongs><em> it </em>. </verse>
      <verse number='41'>And he <strongs number="4116">hasted</strongs>, and <strongs number="5493">took</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="666">ashes</strongs>away <strongs number="4480 5921">from</strongs>his <strongs number="5869">face</strongs>; and the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="5234">discerned</strongs>him <strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="1931">he</strongs><em> was </em>of the <strongs number="4480 5030">prophets</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='42'>And he <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, <strongs number="3541">Thus</strongs><strongs number="559">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="3282">Because</strongs>thou hast let <strongs number="7971">go</strongs>out of <em> thy </em><strongs number="4480 3027">hand</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>a <strongs number="376">man</strongs>whom I appointed to utter <strongs number="2764">destruction</strongs>, therefore thy <strongs number="5315">life</strongs>shall <strongs number="1961">go</strongs><strongs number="8478">for</strongs>his <strongs number="5315">life</strongs>, and thy <strongs number="5971">people</strongs><strongs number="8478">for</strongs>his <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='43'>And the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="1980">went</strongs><strongs number="5921">to</strongs>his <strongs number="1004">house</strongs><strongs number="5620">heavy</strongs>and <strongs number="2198">displeased</strongs>, and <strongs number="935">came</strongs>to <strongs number="8111">Samaria</strongs>. </verse>
