      <verse number='1'><strongs number="*2228"></strongs>Know ye <strongs number="50">not</strongs>, <strongs number="80">brethren</strongs>, ( <strongs number="1063">for</strongs>I <strongs number="2980">speak</strongs>to them that <strongs number="1097">know</strongs>the <strongs number="3551">law</strongs>,) how <strongs number="3754">that</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="3551">law</strongs>hath dominion <strongs number="2961">over</strongs>a <strongs number="444 *1909">man</strongs>as long <strongs number="3745 5550">as</strongs>he <strongs number="2198">liveth</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='2'><strongs number="1063">For</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="1135">woman</strongs>which hath an <strongs number="5220">husband</strongs>is <strongs number="1210">bound</strongs>by the <strongs number="3551">law</strongs>to <em> her </em><strongs number="435">husband</strongs>so long as he <strongs number="2198">liveth</strongs>; <strongs number="1161">but</strongs><strongs number="1437">if</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="435">husband</strongs>be <strongs number="599">dead</strongs>, she is <strongs number="2673">loosed</strongs><strongs number="575">from</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="3551">law</strongs>of <em> her </em><strongs number="435">husband</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='6'><strongs number="1161">But</strongs><strongs number="3570">now</strongs>we are <strongs number="2673">delivered</strongs><strongs number="575">from</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="3551">law</strongs>, that being <strongs number="599">dead</strongs><strongs number="1722 3739">wherein</strongs>we were <strongs number="2722">held</strongs>; <strongs number="5620">that</strongs><strongs number="2248">we</strongs>should <strongs number="1398">serve</strongs><strongs number="1722">in</strongs><strongs number="2538">newness</strongs>of <strongs number="4151">spirit</strongs>, <strongs number="2532">and</strongs><strongs number="3756">not</strongs><em> in </em>the <strongs number="3821">oldness</strongs>of the <strongs number="1121">letter</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'><strongs number="5101">What</strongs>shall we <strongs number="2046">say</strongs><strongs number="3767">then</strongs>? <em> Is </em><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="3551">law</strongs><strongs number="266">sin</strongs>? God <strongs number="1096 3361">forbid</strongs>. <strongs number="235">Nay</strongs>, I had <strongs number="3756">not</strongs><strongs number="1097">known</strongs><strongs number="266">sin</strongs>, <strongs number="1508">but</strongs><strongs number="1223">by</strongs>the <strongs number="3551">law</strongs>: <strongs number="1063">for</strongs>I <strongs number="*5037">had</strongs><strongs number="3756">not</strongs><strongs number="1492">known</strongs><strongs number="1939">lust</strongs>, <strongs number="1508">except</strongs><strongs number="3588">the</strongs><strongs number="3551">law</strongs>had <strongs number="3004">said</strongs>, Thou shalt <strongs number="3756">not</strongs><strongs number="1937">covet</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='13'>Was <strongs number="3767">then</strongs>that which is <strongs number="18">good</strongs><strongs number="1096">made</strongs><strongs number="2288">death</strongs>unto <strongs number="1698">me</strongs>?
