      <verse number='1'><strongs number="669">Ephraim</strongs><strongs number="7462">feedeth</strongs>on <strongs number="7307">wind</strongs>, and followeth <strongs number="7291">after</strongs>the east <strongs number="6921">wind</strongs>: he <strongs number="3605 3117">daily</strongs><strongs number="7235">increaseth</strongs><strongs number="3577">lies</strongs>and <strongs number="7701">desolation</strongs>; and they do <strongs number="3772">make</strongs>a <strongs number="1285">covenant</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>the <strongs number="804">Assyrians</strongs>, and <strongs number="8081">oil</strongs>is <strongs number="2986">carried</strongs>into <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>The <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>hath also a <strongs number="7379">controversy</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs><strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, and will <strongs number="6485 5921">punish</strongs><strongs number="3290">Jacob</strongs>according to his <strongs number="1870">ways</strongs>; according to his <strongs number="4611">doings</strongs>will he <strongs number="7725">recompense</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>He took his brother by the <strongs number="6117 *853 251">heel</strongs>in the <strongs number="990">womb</strongs>, and by his <strongs number="202">strength</strongs>he had <strongs number="8280">power</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='4'>Yea, he had <strongs number="8280">power</strongs><strongs number="413">over</strongs>the <strongs number="4397">angel</strongs>, and <strongs number="3201">prevailed</strongs>: he <strongs number="1058">wept</strongs>, and made <strongs number="2603">supplication</strongs>unto him: he <strongs number="4672">found</strongs>him <em> in </em><strongs number="1008">Bethel</strongs>, and <strongs number="8033">there</strongs>he <strongs number="1696">spoke</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>us; </verse>
      <verse number='5'>Even the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>of <strongs number="6635">hosts</strongs>; the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><em> is </em>his <strongs number="2143">memorial</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>Therefore <strongs number="7725">turn</strongs><strongs number="859">thou</strongs>to thy <strongs number="430">God</strongs>: <strongs number="8104">keep</strongs><strongs number="2617">mercy</strongs>and <strongs number="4941">judgment</strongs>, and <strongs number="6960">wait</strongs><strongs number="413">on</strongs>thy <strongs number="430">God</strongs><strongs number="8548">continually</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'><em> He </em><em> is </em>a <strongs number="3667">merchant</strongs>, the <strongs number="3976">balances</strongs>of <strongs number="4820">deceit</strongs><em> are </em>in his <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>: he <strongs number="157">loveth</strongs>to <strongs number="6231">oppress</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>And <strongs number="669">Ephraim</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="389">Yet</strongs>I am become <strongs number="6238">rich</strongs>, I have found me <strongs number="4672">out</strongs><strongs number="202">substance</strongs>: <em> in </em><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>my <strongs number="3018">labors</strongs>they shall <strongs number="4672">find</strongs><strongs number="3808">none</strongs><strongs number="5771">iniquity</strongs>in me <strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> were </em><strongs number="2399">sin</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>And <strongs number="595">I</strongs><em> that </em><em> am </em>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>thy <strongs number="430">God</strongs>from the <strongs number="4480 776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>will <strongs number="5750">yet</strongs>make thee to <strongs number="3427">dwell</strongs>in <strongs number="168">tabernacles</strongs>, as in the <strongs number="3117">days</strongs>of the solemn <strongs number="4150">feast</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>I have also <strongs number="1696">spoken</strongs><strongs number="5921">by</strongs>the <strongs number="5030">prophets</strongs>, and <strongs number="595">I</strongs>have <strongs number="7235">multiplied</strongs><strongs number="2377">visions</strongs>, and used <strongs number="1819">similitudes</strongs>, by the <strongs number="3027">ministry</strongs>of the <strongs number="5030">prophets</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'><em> Is </em><em> there </em><strongs number="205">iniquity</strongs><em> in </em><strongs number="1568">Gilead</strongs>? <strongs number="389">surely</strongs>they <strongs number="1961">are</strongs><strongs number="7723">vanity</strongs>: they <strongs number="2076">sacrifice</strongs><strongs number="7794">bullocks</strongs>in <strongs number="1537">Gilgal</strongs>; <strongs number="1571">yea</strongs>, their <strongs number="4196">altars</strongs><em> are </em>as <strongs number="1530">heaps</strongs><strongs number="5921">in</strongs>the <strongs number="8525">furrows</strongs>of the <strongs number="7704">fields</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>And <strongs number="3290">Jacob</strongs><strongs number="1272">fled</strongs>into the <strongs number="7704">country</strongs>of <strongs number="758">Syria</strongs>, and <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="5647">served</strongs>for a <strongs number="802">wife</strongs>, and for a <strongs number="802">wife</strongs>he <strongs number="8104">kept</strongs><em> sheep </em>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>And by a <strongs number="5030">prophet</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="5927">brought</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>out of <strongs number="4480 4714">Egypt</strongs>, and by a <strongs number="5030">prophet</strongs>was he <strongs number="8104">preserved</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'><strongs number="669">Ephraim</strongs>provoked <em> him </em>to <strongs number="3707">anger</strongs>most <strongs number="8563">bitterly</strongs>: therefore shall he <strongs number="5203">leave</strongs>his <strongs number="1818">blood</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>him, and his <strongs number="2781">reproach</strongs>shall his <strongs number="113">Lord</strongs><strongs number="7725">return</strongs>unto him. </verse>
