      <verse number='2'>Lift <strongs number="5375">up</strongs>thine <strongs number="5869">eyes</strongs><strongs number="5921">unto</strongs>the high <strongs number="8205">places</strongs>, and <strongs number="7200">see</strongs><strongs number="375">where</strongs>thou hast <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>been <strongs number="7901">lain</strongs>with. <strongs number="5921">In</strongs>the <strongs number="1870">ways</strongs>hast thou <strongs number="3427">sat</strongs>for them, as the <strongs number="6163">Arabian</strongs>in the <strongs number="4057">wilderness</strongs>; and thou hast <strongs number="2610">polluted</strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>with thy <strongs number="2184">whoredoms</strongs>and with thy <strongs number="7451">wickedness</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>Therefore the <strongs number="7241">showers</strongs>have been <strongs number="4513">withheld</strongs>, and there hath <strongs number="1961">been</strongs><strongs number="3808">no</strongs>latter <strongs number="4456">rain</strongs>; and thou hadst a <strongs number="802 2181">whore</strongs>'s <strongs number="4696">forehead</strongs>, thou <strongs number="3985">refusedst</strongs>to be <strongs number="3637">ashamed</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>Wilt thou <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>from this <strongs number="4480 6258">time</strongs><strongs number="7121">cry</strongs>unto me, My <strongs number="1">father</strongs>, <strongs number="859">thou</strongs><em> art </em>the <strongs number="441">guide</strongs>of my <strongs number="5271">youth</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='5'>Will he <strongs number="5201">reserve</strongs><em> his </em><em> anger </em><strongs number="5769">forever</strongs>? will he <strongs number="8104">keep</strongs><em> it </em>to the <strongs number="5331">end</strongs>? <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, thou hast <strongs number="1696">spoken</strongs>and <strongs number="6213">done</strongs>evil <strongs number="7451">things</strongs>as thou <strongs number="3201">couldest</strongs>. </verse>

But she <strongs number="7725">returned</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>. And her <strongs number="901">treacherous</strongs><strongs number="269">sister</strongs><strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><em> it </em>. </verse>

      <verse number='9'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>through the <strongs number="4480 6963">lightness</strongs>of her <strongs number="2184">whoredom</strongs>, that she <strongs number="2610">defiled</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>, and committed <strongs number="5003">adultery</strongs><strongs number="854">with</strongs><strongs number="68">stones</strongs>and <strongs number="854">with</strongs><strongs number="6086">stocks</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='11'>And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>me, The <strongs number="4878">backsliding</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>hath <strongs number="6663">justified</strongs><strongs number="5315">herself</strongs>more than <strongs number="4480 898">treacherous</strongs><strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'><strongs number="1980">Go</strongs>and <strongs number="7121">proclaim</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="428">these</strongs><strongs number="1697">words</strongs>toward the <strongs number="6828">north</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">say</strongs>, <strongs number="7725">Return</strongs>, thou <strongs number="4878">backsliding</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, <strongs number="5002">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>; <em> and </em>I will <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>cause mine <strongs number="6440">anger</strongs>to <strongs number="5307">fall</strongs>upon you: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="589">I</strongs><em> am </em><strongs number="2623">merciful</strongs>, <strongs number="5002">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <em> and </em>I will <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5201">keep</strongs><em> anger </em><strongs number="5769">forever</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'><strongs number="389">Only</strongs><strongs number="3045">acknowledge</strongs>thine <strongs number="5771">iniquity</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">that</strongs>thou hast <strongs number="6586">transgressed</strongs>against the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>thy <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, and hast <strongs number="6340">scattered</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>thy <strongs number="1870">ways</strongs>to the <strongs number="2114">strangers</strongs><strongs number="8478">under</strongs><strongs number="3605">every</strongs><strongs number="7488">green</strongs><strongs number="6086">tree</strongs>, and ye have <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="8085">obeyed</strongs>my <strongs number="6963">voice</strongs>, <strongs number="5002">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'><strongs number="7725">Turn</strongs>, O <strongs number="7726">backsliding</strongs><strongs number="1121">children</strongs>, <strongs number="5002">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="595">I</strongs>am <strongs number="1166">married</strongs>unto you: and I will <strongs number="3947">take</strongs>you <strongs number="259">one</strongs>of a <strongs number="4480 5892">city</strongs>, and <strongs number="8147">two</strongs>of a <strongs number="4480 4940">family</strongs>, and I will <strongs number="935">bring</strongs>you to <strongs number="6726">Zion</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='15'>And I will <strongs number="5414">give</strongs>you <strongs number="7462">pastors</strongs>according to mine <strongs number="3820">heart</strongs>, which shall <strongs number="7462">feed</strongs>you with <strongs number="1844">knowledge</strongs>and <strongs number="7919">understanding</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='17'>At <strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="6256">time</strongs>they shall <strongs number="7121">call</strongs><strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>the <strongs number="3678">throne</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>; and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="1471">nations</strongs>shall be <strongs number="6960">gathered</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>it, to the <strongs number="8034">name</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, to <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>: <strongs number="3808">neither</strongs>shall they <strongs number="1980">walk</strongs>any <strongs number="5750">more</strongs><strongs number="310">after</strongs>the <strongs number="8307">imagination</strongs>of their <strongs number="7451">evil</strongs><strongs number="3820">heart</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>In <strongs number="1992">those</strongs><strongs number="3117">days</strongs>the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>shall <strongs number="1980">walk</strongs><strongs number="5921">with</strongs>the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, and they shall <strongs number="935">come</strongs><strongs number="3162">together</strongs>out of the <strongs number="4480 776">land</strongs>of the <strongs number="6828">north</strongs><strongs number="5921">to</strongs>the <strongs number="776">land</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs>I have given for an <strongs number="5157">inheritance</strongs>unto <strongs number="*853"></strongs>your <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='19'>But <strongs number="595">I</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="349">How</strongs>shall I <strongs number="7896">put</strongs>thee among the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>, and <strongs number="5414">give</strongs>thee a <strongs number="2532">pleasant</strongs><strongs number="776">land</strongs>, a <strongs number="6643">goodly</strongs><strongs number="5159">heritage</strongs>of the <strongs number="6635">hosts</strongs>of <strongs number="1471">nations</strongs>? and I <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, Thou shalt <strongs number="7121">call</strongs>me, My <strongs number="1">father</strongs>; and shalt <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>turn <strongs number="7725">away</strongs><strongs number="4480 310">from</strongs>me. </verse>

      <verse number='21'>A <strongs number="6963">voice</strongs>was <strongs number="8085">heard</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>the high <strongs number="8205">places</strongs>, <strongs number="1065">weeping</strongs><em> and </em><strongs number="8469">supplications</strongs>of the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>they have <strongs number="5753">perverted</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>their <strongs number="1870">way</strongs>, <em> and </em>they have <strongs number="7911">forgotten</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>their <strongs number="430">God</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='22'><strongs number="7725">Return</strongs>, ye <strongs number="7726">backsliding</strongs><strongs number="1121">children</strongs>, <em> and </em>I will <strongs number="7495">heal</strongs>your <strongs number="4878">backslidings</strongs>. <strongs number="2009">Behold</strongs>, we <strongs number="857">come</strongs>unto thee; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="859">thou</strongs><em> art </em>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>our <strongs number="430">God</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='23'><strongs number="403">Truly</strongs>in <strongs number="8267">vain</strongs><em> is </em><em> salvation </em><em> hoped </em><em> for </em>from the <strongs number="4480 1389">hills</strongs>, <em> and </em><em> from </em>the <strongs number="1995">multitude</strongs>of <strongs number="2022">mountains</strongs>: <strongs number="403">truly</strongs>in the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>our <strongs number="430">God</strongs><em> is </em>the <strongs number="8668">salvation</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='24'>For <strongs number="1322">shame</strongs>hath <strongs number="398">devoured</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3018">labor</strongs>of our <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>from our <strongs number="4480 5271">youth</strongs>; <strongs number="*853"></strongs>their <strongs number="6629">flocks</strongs>and their <strongs number="1241">herds</strongs>, <strongs number="*853"></strongs>their <strongs number="1121">sons</strongs>and their <strongs number="1323">daughters</strongs>. </verse>
