      <verse number='1'>Now it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>in the <strongs number="702 6240">fourteenth</strongs><strongs number="8141">year</strongs>of <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="2396">Hezekiah</strongs>, <em> that </em><strongs number="5576">Sennacherib</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs>came <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="1219">defensed</strongs><strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, and <strongs number="8610">took</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>And the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="7262">Rab</strongs>-shakeh from <strongs number="4480 3923">Lachish</strongs>to <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="2396">Hezekiah</strongs>with a <strongs number="3515">great</strongs><strongs number="2428">army</strongs>. And he <strongs number="5975">stood</strongs>by the <strongs number="8585">conduit</strongs>of the <strongs number="5945">upper</strongs><strongs number="1295">pool</strongs>in the <strongs number="4546">highway</strongs>of the <strongs number="3526">fuller</strongs>'s <strongs number="7704">field</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>Then came <strongs number="3318">forth</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him <strongs number="471">Eliakim</strongs>, <strongs number="2518">Hilkiah</strongs>'s <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>, <strongs number="834">which</strongs>was <strongs number="5921">over</strongs>the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>, and <strongs number="7644">Shebna</strongs>the <strongs number="5608">scribe</strongs>, and <strongs number="3098">Joah</strongs>, <strongs number="623">Asaph</strongs>'s <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>, the <strongs number="2142">recorder</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>And <strongs number="7262">Rab</strongs>-shakeh <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>them, <strongs number="559">Say</strongs>ye <strongs number="4994">now</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="2396">Hezekiah</strongs>, <strongs number="3541">Thus</strongs><strongs number="559">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs>, <strongs number="4100">What</strongs><strongs number="986">confidence</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="834">wherein</strongs>thou <strongs number="982">trustest</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='5'>I <strongs number="559">say</strongs>, <em> sayest </em><em> thou </em>, ( <strongs number="389">but</strongs><em> they </em><em> are </em><em> but </em><strongs number="8193">vain</strongs><strongs number="1697">words</strongs>) <em> I </em><em> have </em><strongs number="6098">counsel</strongs>and <strongs number="1369">strength</strongs>for <strongs number="4421">war</strongs>: <strongs number="6258">now</strongs><strongs number="5921">on</strongs><strongs number="4310">whom</strongs>dost thou <strongs number="982">trust</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">that</strongs>thou <strongs number="4775">rebellest</strongs>against me? </verse>
      <verse number='6'><strongs number="2009">Lo</strongs>, thou <strongs number="982">trustest</strongs><strongs number="5921">in</strongs>the <strongs number="4938">staff</strongs>of <strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="7533">broken</strongs><strongs number="7070">reed</strongs>, <strongs number="5921">on</strongs><strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>; <strongs number="834 5921">whereon</strongs>if a <strongs number="376">man</strongs><strongs number="5564">lean</strongs>, it will <strongs number="935">go</strongs>into his <strongs number="3709">hand</strongs>, and <strongs number="5344">pierce</strongs>it: <strongs number="3651">so</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="6547">Pharaoh</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>to <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>that <strongs number="982">trust</strongs><strongs number="5921">in</strongs>him. </verse>

      <verse number='8'><strongs number="6258">Now</strongs>therefore give <strongs number="6149">pledges</strongs>, I pray <strongs number="4994">thee</strongs>, <strongs number="854">to</strongs>my <strongs number="113">master</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs>, and I will <strongs number="5414">give</strongs>thee two <strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="5483">horses</strongs>, <strongs number="518">if</strongs>thou be <strongs number="3201">able</strongs>on thy part to <strongs number="5414">set</strongs><strongs number="7392">riders</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='9'><strongs number="349">How</strongs>then wilt thou turn <strongs number="7725">away</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="6440">face</strongs>of <strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="6346">captain</strongs>of the <strongs number="6996">least</strongs>of my <strongs number="113">master</strongs>'s <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs>, and put thy <strongs number="982">trust</strongs><strongs number="5921">on</strongs><strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>for <strongs number="7393">chariots</strongs>and for <strongs number="6571">horsemen</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='10'>And am I <strongs number="6258">now</strongs>come <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="4480 1107">without</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="776">land</strongs>to <strongs number="7843">destroy</strongs>it? the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>me, Go <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="413">against</strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="776">land</strongs>, and <strongs number="7843">destroy</strongs>it. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>Then <strongs number="559">said</strongs><strongs number="471">Eliakim</strongs>and <strongs number="7644">Shebna</strongs>and <strongs number="3098">Joah</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs><strongs number="7262">Rab</strongs>-shakeh, <strongs number="1696">Speak</strongs>, I pray <strongs number="4994">thee</strongs>, <strongs number="413">unto</strongs>thy <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs>in the Syrian <strongs number="762">language</strongs>; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="587">we</strongs><strongs number="8085">understand</strongs><em> it </em>: and <strongs number="1696">speak</strongs><strongs number="408">not</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>us in the Jews' <strongs number="3066">language</strongs>, in the <strongs number="241">ears</strongs>of the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> are </em><strongs number="5921">on</strongs>the <strongs number="2346">wall</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='13'>Then <strongs number="7262">Rab</strongs>-shakeh <strongs number="5975">stood</strongs>, and <strongs number="7121">cried</strongs>with a <strongs number="1419">loud</strongs><strongs number="6963">voice</strongs>in the Jews' <strongs number="3066">language</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, <strongs number="8085">Hear</strongs>ye <strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="1697">words</strongs>of the <strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'><strongs number="3541">Thus</strongs><strongs number="559">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, Let <strongs number="408">not</strongs><strongs number="2396">Hezekiah</strongs><strongs number="5377">deceive</strongs>you: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>he shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>be <strongs number="3201">able</strongs>to <strongs number="5337">deliver</strongs>you. </verse>
      <verse number='15'><strongs number="408">Neither</strongs>let <strongs number="2396">Hezekiah</strongs>make you <strongs number="982 *853">trust</strongs><strongs number="413">in</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, The <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>will surely <strongs number="5337 5337">deliver</strongs>us: <strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="5892">city</strongs>shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>be <strongs number="5414">delivered</strongs>into the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'><strongs number="8085">Hearken</strongs><strongs number="408">not</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="2396">Hezekiah</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="3541">thus</strongs><strongs number="559">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs>, <strongs number="6213">Make</strongs><em> an </em><em> agreement </em><strongs number="854">with</strongs>me <em> by </em>a <strongs number="1293">present</strongs>, and come <strongs number="3318">out</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>me: and <strongs number="398">eat</strongs>ye every <strongs number="376">one</strongs>of his <strongs number="1612">vine</strongs>, and every <strongs number="376">one</strongs>of his fig <strongs number="8384">tree</strongs>, and <strongs number="8354">drink</strongs>ye every <strongs number="376">one</strongs>the <strongs number="4325">waters</strongs>of his own <strongs number="953">cistern</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='17'><strongs number="5704">Until</strongs>I <strongs number="935">come</strongs>and take you <strongs number="3947 *853">away</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>a <strongs number="776">land</strongs>like your own <strongs number="776">land</strongs>, a <strongs number="776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="1715">corn</strongs>and <strongs number="8492">wine</strongs>, a <strongs number="776">land</strongs>of <strongs number="3899">bread</strongs>and <strongs number="3754">vineyards</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'><em> Beware </em><strongs number="6435">lest</strongs><strongs number="2396">Hezekiah</strongs><strongs number="5496">persuade</strongs>you, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, The <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>will <strongs number="5337">deliver</strongs>us. Hath <strongs number="376">any</strongs>of the <strongs number="430">gods</strongs>of the <strongs number="1471">nations</strongs><strongs number="5337">delivered</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>his <strongs number="776">land</strongs>out of the <strongs number="4480 3027">hand</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='19'><strongs number="346">Where</strongs><em> are </em>the <strongs number="430">gods</strongs>of <strongs number="2574">Hamath</strongs>and <strongs number="774">Arphad</strongs>? <strongs number="346">where</strongs><em> are </em>the <strongs number="430">gods</strongs>of <strongs number="5617">Sepharvaim</strongs>? <strongs number="3588">and</strongs>have they <strongs number="5337">delivered</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="8111">Samaria</strongs>out of my <strongs number="4480 3027">hand</strongs>? </verse>
