      <verse number='1'><em> A </em><em> Psalm </em>of <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>. <strongs number="7378">Plead</strongs><em> my </em><em> cause </em>, O <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="854">with</strongs>them that <strongs number="3401">strive</strongs>with me: fight <strongs number="3898">against</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>them that fight <strongs number="3898">against</strongs>me. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>Take <strongs number="2388">hold</strongs>of <strongs number="4043">shield</strongs>and <strongs number="6793">buckler</strongs>, and stand <strongs number="6965">up</strongs>for mine <strongs number="5833">help</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>Draw <strongs number="7324">out</strongs>also the <strongs number="2595">spear</strongs>, and <strongs number="5462">stop</strongs><em> the </em><em> way </em><strongs number="7125">against</strongs>them that <strongs number="7291">persecute</strongs>me: <strongs number="559">say</strongs>unto my <strongs number="5315">soul</strongs>, <strongs number="589">I</strongs><em> am </em>thy <strongs number="3444">salvation</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='7'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs>without <strongs number="2600">cause</strongs>have they <strongs number="2934">hid</strongs>for me their <strongs number="7568">net</strongs><em> in </em>a <strongs number="7845">pit</strongs>, <em> which </em>without <strongs number="2600">cause</strongs>they have <strongs number="2658">digged</strongs>for my <strongs number="5315">soul</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='12'>They <strongs number="7999">rewarded</strongs>me <strongs number="7451">evil</strongs><strongs number="8478">for</strongs><strongs number="2896">good</strongs><em> to </em>the <strongs number="7908">spoiling</strongs>of my <strongs number="5315">soul</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>But as for <strongs number="589">me</strongs>, when they were <strongs number="2470">sick</strongs>, my <strongs number="3830">clothing</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="8242">sackcloth</strongs>: I <strongs number="6031">humbled</strongs>my <strongs number="5315">soul</strongs>with <strongs number="6685">fasting</strongs>; and my <strongs number="8605">prayer</strongs><strongs number="7725">returned</strongs><strongs number="5921">into</strongs>mine own <strongs number="2436">bosom</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='15'>But in mine <strongs number="6761">adversity</strongs>they <strongs number="8055">rejoiced</strongs>, and gathered themselves <strongs number="622">together</strongs>: <em> yea </em>, the <strongs number="5222">abjects</strongs>gathered themselves <strongs number="622">together</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>me, and I <strongs number="3045">knew</strongs><em> it </em><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>; they did <strongs number="7167">tear</strongs><em> me </em>, and <strongs number="1826">ceased</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>: </verse>
