      <verse number='1'>Now it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, <strongs number="834">when</strongs><strongs number="5571">Sanballat</strongs>, and <strongs number="2900">Tobiah</strongs>, and <strongs number="1654">Geshem</strongs>the <strongs number="6163">Arabian</strongs>, and the <strongs number="3499">rest</strongs>of our <strongs number="341">enemies</strongs>, <strongs number="8085">heard</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>I had <strongs number="1129">built</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="2346">wall</strongs>, and <em> that </em>there was <strongs number="3808">no</strongs><strongs number="6556">breach</strongs><strongs number="3498">left</strongs>therein; ( <strongs number="1571">though</strongs><strongs number="5704">at</strongs><strongs number="1931">that</strongs><strongs number="6256">time</strongs>I had <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>set <strongs number="5975">up</strongs>the <strongs number="1817">doors</strongs>upon the <strongs number="8179">gates</strongs>;) </verse>
      <verse number='2'>That <strongs number="5571">Sanballat</strongs>and <strongs number="1654">Geshem</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>me, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="1980">Come</strongs>, let us <strongs number="3259">meet</strongs><strongs number="3162">together</strongs>in <em> some </em><em> one </em><em> of </em>the <strongs number="3715">villages</strongs>in the <strongs number="1237">plain</strongs>of <strongs number="207">Ono</strongs>. But <strongs number="1992">they</strongs><strongs number="2803">thought</strongs>to <strongs number="6213">do</strongs>me <strongs number="7451">mischief</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>And I <strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="4397">messengers</strongs><strongs number="5921">unto</strongs>them, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="589">I</strongs><em> am </em><strongs number="6213">doing</strongs>a <strongs number="1419">great</strongs><strongs number="4399">work</strongs>, so that I <strongs number="3808 3201">cannot</strongs>come <strongs number="3381">down</strongs>: <strongs number="4100">why</strongs>should the <strongs number="4399">work</strongs><strongs number="7673">cease</strongs>, <strongs number="834">whilst</strongs>I <strongs number="7503">leave</strongs>it, and come <strongs number="3381">down</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs>you? </verse>
      <verse number='4'>Yet they <strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>me <strongs number="702">four</strongs><strongs number="6471">times</strongs>after <strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="1697">sort</strongs>; and I <strongs number="7725">answered</strongs>them after the <strongs number="2088">same</strongs><strongs number="1697">manner</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>Then <strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="5571">Sanballat</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>his <strongs number="5288">servant</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>me in <strongs number="2088">like</strongs><strongs number="1697">manner</strongs>the <strongs number="2549">fifth</strongs><strongs number="6471">time</strongs>with an <strongs number="6605">open</strongs><strongs number="107">letter</strongs>in his <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='6'>Wherein <em> was </em><strongs number="3789">written</strongs>, It is <strongs number="8085">reported</strongs>among the <strongs number="1471">heathen</strongs>, and <strongs number="1654">Gashmu</strongs><strongs number="559">saith</strongs><em> it, </em><em> that </em><strongs number="859">thou</strongs>and the <strongs number="3064">Jews</strongs><strongs number="2803">think</strongs>to <strongs number="4775">rebel</strongs>: <strongs number="5921">for</strongs>which <strongs number="3651">cause</strongs><strongs number="859">thou</strongs><strongs number="1129">buildest</strongs>the <strongs number="2346">wall</strongs>, that <strongs number="859">thou</strongs>mayest <strongs number="1933">be</strongs>their <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, according to <strongs number="428">these</strongs><strongs number="1697">words</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>And thou hast <strongs number="1571">also</strongs><strongs number="5975">appointed</strongs><strongs number="5030">prophets</strongs>to <strongs number="7121">preach</strongs><strongs number="5921">of</strongs>thee at <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <em> There </em><em> is </em>a <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>in <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>: and <strongs number="6258">now</strongs>shall it be <strongs number="8085">reported</strongs>to the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>according to <strongs number="428">these</strongs><strongs number="1697">words</strongs>. <strongs number="1980">Come</strongs><strongs number="6258">now</strongs>therefore, and let us take <strongs number="3289">counsel</strongs><strongs number="3162">together</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='8'>Then I <strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>him, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, There <strongs number="1961">are</strongs><strongs number="3808">no</strongs><strongs number="428">such</strongs><strongs number="1697">things</strongs>done <strongs number="834">as</strongs><strongs number="859">thou</strongs><strongs number="559">sayest</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">but</strongs><strongs number="859">thou</strongs><strongs number="908">feignest</strongs>them out of thine own <strongs number="4480 3820">heart</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs>they <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>made us <strongs number="3372 *853">afraid</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, Their <strongs number="3027">hands</strongs>shall be <strongs number="7503">weakened</strongs><strongs number="4480">from</strongs>the <strongs number="4399">work</strongs>, that it be <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="6213">done</strongs>. <strongs number="6258">Now</strongs>therefore, <em> O </em><em> God </em>, <strongs number="2388">strengthen</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>my <strongs number="3027">hands</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>Afterward <strongs number="589">I</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs>unto the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="8098">Shemaiah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="1806">Delaiah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="4105">Mehetabeel</strongs>, <strongs number="1931">who</strongs><em> was </em>shut <strongs number="6113">up</strongs>; and he <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, Let us meet <strongs number="3259">together</strongs><strongs number="413">in</strongs>the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, <strongs number="413 8432">within</strongs>the <strongs number="1964">temple</strongs>, and let us <strongs number="5462">shut</strongs>the <strongs number="1817">doors</strongs>of the <strongs number="1964">temple</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>they will <strongs number="935">come</strongs>to <strongs number="2026">slay</strongs>thee; yea, in the <strongs number="3915">night</strongs>will they <strongs number="935">come</strongs>to <strongs number="2026">slay</strongs>thee. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>And I <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, Should such a man as <strongs number="3644 376">I</strongs><strongs number="1272">flee</strongs>? and <strongs number="4310">who</strongs><em> is </em><em> there </em>, <strongs number="834">that</strongs>, <em> being </em>as <strongs number="3644">I</strongs><em> am </em>, would <strongs number="935">go</strongs><strongs number="413">into</strongs>the <strongs number="1964">temple</strongs>to save his <strongs number="2425">life</strongs>? I will <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>go <strongs number="935">in</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>And, <strongs number="2009">lo</strongs>, I <strongs number="5234">perceived</strongs>that <strongs number="430">God</strongs>had <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs>him; <strongs number="3588">but</strongs>that he <strongs number="1696">pronounced</strongs>this <strongs number="5016">prophecy</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>me: for <strongs number="2900">Tobiah</strongs>and <strongs number="5571">Sanballat</strongs>had <strongs number="7936">hired</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='13'><strongs number="4616">Therefore</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="1931">he</strongs><strongs number="7936">hired</strongs>, <strongs number="4616">that</strongs>I should be <strongs number="3372">afraid</strongs>, and <strongs number="6213">do</strongs><strongs number="3651">so</strongs>, and <strongs number="2398">sin</strongs>, and <em> that </em>they might <strongs number="1961">have</strongs><em> matter </em>for an <strongs number="7451">evil</strongs><strongs number="8034">report</strongs>, <strongs number="4616">that</strongs>they might <strongs number="2778">reproach</strongs>me. </verse>
      <verse number='14'>My <strongs number="430">God</strongs>, <strongs number="2142">think</strongs>thou upon <strongs number="2900">Tobiah</strongs>and <strongs number="5571">Sanballat</strongs>according to <strongs number="428">these</strongs>their <strongs number="4639">works</strongs>, <strongs number="1571">and</strongs>on the <strongs number="5031">prophetess</strongs><strongs number="5129">Noadiah</strongs>, and the <strongs number="3499">rest</strongs>of the <strongs number="5030">prophets</strongs>, <strongs number="834">that</strongs>would <strongs number="1961">have</strongs>put me in <strongs number="3372">fear</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>So the <strongs number="2346">wall</strongs>was <strongs number="7999">finished</strongs>in the <strongs number="6242">twenty</strongs>and <strongs number="2568">fifth</strongs><em> day </em>of <em> the </em><em> month </em><strongs number="435">Elul</strongs>, in <strongs number="2572">fifty</strongs>and <strongs number="8147">two</strongs><strongs number="3117">days</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, that <strongs number="834">when</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>our <strongs number="341">enemies</strongs><strongs number="8085">heard</strongs><em> thereof </em>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="1471">heathen</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> were </em><strongs number="5439">about</strongs>us <strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><em> these </em><em> things </em>, they were <strongs number="3966">much</strongs>cast <strongs number="5307">down</strongs>in their own <strongs number="5869">eyes</strongs>: for they <strongs number="3045">perceived</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs><strongs number="4399">work</strongs>was <strongs number="6213">wrought</strongs><strongs number="4480 854">of</strongs>our <strongs number="430">God</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'><strongs number="1571">Moreover</strongs>in <strongs number="1992">those</strongs><strongs number="3117">days</strongs>the <strongs number="2715">nobles</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="1980">sent</strongs><strongs number="7235">many</strongs><strongs number="107">letters</strongs><strongs number="5921">unto</strongs><strongs number="2900">Tobiah</strongs>, and <em> the </em><em> letters </em>of <strongs number="2900">Tobiah</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='18'><strongs number="3588">For</strongs><em> there </em><em> were </em><strongs number="7227">many</strongs>in <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="1167 7621">sworn</strongs>unto him, <strongs number="3588">because</strongs><strongs number="1931">he</strongs><em> was </em>the son in <strongs number="2860">law</strongs>of <strongs number="7935">Shechaniah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="733">Arah</strongs>; and his <strongs number="1121">son</strongs><strongs number="3076">Johanan</strongs>had <strongs number="3947">taken</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="1323">daughter</strongs>of <strongs number="4918">Meshullam</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="1296">Berechiah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='19'><strongs number="1571">Also</strongs>they <strongs number="1961 559">reported</strongs>his good <strongs number="2896">deeds</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs>me, and <strongs number="1961 3318">uttered</strongs>my <strongs number="1697">words</strongs>to him. <em> And </em><strongs number="2900">Tobiah</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="107">letters</strongs>to put me in <strongs number="3372">fear</strongs>. </verse>
