      <verse number='2'><strongs number="116">Then</strongs>rose <strongs number="6966">up</strongs><strongs number="2217">Zerubbabel</strongs>the <strongs number="1247">son</strongs>of <strongs number="7598">Shealtiel</strongs>, and <strongs number="3443">Jeshua</strongs>the <strongs number="1247">son</strongs>of <strongs number="3136">Jozadak</strongs>, and <strongs number="8271">began</strongs>to <strongs number="1124">build</strongs>the <strongs number="1005">house</strongs>of <strongs number="426">God</strongs><strongs number="1768">which</strongs><em> is </em>at <strongs number="3390">Jerusalem</strongs>: and <strongs number="5974">with</strongs>them <em> were </em>the <strongs number="5029">prophets</strongs><strongs number="1768">of</strongs><strongs number="426">God</strongs><strongs number="5583">helping</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='3'>At the same <strongs number="2166">time</strongs><strongs number="858">came</strongs><strongs number="5922">to</strongs>them <strongs number="8674">Tatnai</strongs>, <strongs number="6347">governor</strongs>on this <strongs number="5675">side</strongs>the <strongs number="5103">river</strongs>, and <strongs number="8370">Shethar</strongs>-boznai, and their <strongs number="3675">companions</strongs>, and <strongs number="560">said</strongs><strongs number="3652">thus</strongs>unto them, <strongs number="4479">Who</strongs>hath <strongs number="7761 2942">commanded</strongs>you to <strongs number="1124">build</strongs><strongs number="1836">this</strongs><strongs number="1005">house</strongs>, and to make <strongs number="3635">up</strongs><strongs number="1836">this</strongs><strongs number="846">wall</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='4'><strongs number="116">Then</strongs><strongs number="560">said</strongs>we unto them after this <strongs number="3660">manner</strongs>, <strongs number="4479">What</strongs>are the <strongs number="8036">names</strongs>of the <strongs number="1400">men</strongs><strongs number="1768">that</strongs><strongs number="1124">make</strongs><strongs number="1836">this</strongs><strongs number="1147">building</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='5'>But the <strongs number="5870">eye</strongs>of their <strongs number="426">God</strongs><strongs number="1934">was</strongs><strongs number="5922">upon</strongs>the <strongs number="7868">elders</strongs>of the <strongs number="3062">Jews</strongs>, that they could <strongs number="3809">not</strongs>cause <strongs number="1994">them</strongs>to <strongs number="989">cease</strongs>, <strongs number="5705">till</strongs>the <strongs number="2941">matter</strongs><strongs number="1946">came</strongs>to <strongs number="1868">Darius</strongs>: and <strongs number="116">then</strongs>they returned <strongs number="8421">answer</strongs>by <strongs number="5407">letter</strongs><strongs number="5922">concerning</strongs><strongs number="1836">this</strongs><em> matter </em>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>The <strongs number="6573">copy</strongs>of the <strongs number="104">letter</strongs><strongs number="1768">that</strongs><strongs number="8674">Tatnai</strongs>, <strongs number="6347">governor</strongs>on this <strongs number="5675">side</strongs>the <strongs number="5103">river</strongs>, and <strongs number="8370">Shethar</strongs>-boznai, and his <strongs number="3675">companions</strongs>the <strongs number="671">Apharsachites</strongs>, <strongs number="1768">which</strongs><em> were </em>on this <strongs number="5675">side</strongs>the <strongs number="5103">river</strongs>, <strongs number="7972">sent</strongs><strongs number="5922">unto</strongs><strongs number="1868">Darius</strongs>the <strongs number="4430">king</strongs>: </verse>
      <verse number='7'>They <strongs number="7972">sent</strongs>a <strongs number="6600">letter</strongs><strongs number="5922">unto</strongs>him, <strongs number="1459">wherein</strongs>was <strongs number="3790">written</strongs><strongs number="1836">thus</strongs>; Unto <strongs number="1868">Darius</strongs>the <strongs number="4430">king</strongs>, <strongs number="3606">all</strongs><strongs number="8001">peace</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='12'><strongs number="3861">But</strongs><strongs number="4481">after</strongs><strongs number="1768">that</strongs>our <strongs number="2">fathers</strongs>had provoked the God of heaven unto <strongs number="7265 426 8065">wrath</strongs>, he <strongs number="3052">gave</strongs><strongs number="1994">them</strongs>into the <strongs number="3028">hand</strongs>of <strongs number="5020">Nebuchadnezzar</strongs>the <strongs number="4430">king</strongs>of <strongs number="895">Babylon</strongs>, the <strongs number="3679">Chaldean</strongs>, who <strongs number="5642">destroyed</strongs><strongs number="1836">this</strongs><strongs number="1005">house</strongs>, and carried the people <strongs number="1541 5972">away</strongs>into <strongs number="895">Babylon</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'><strongs number="1297">But</strongs>in the <strongs number="2298">first</strongs><strongs number="8140">year</strongs>of <strongs number="3567">Cyrus</strongs>the <strongs number="4430">king</strongs><strongs number="1768">of</strongs><strongs number="895">Babylon</strongs><em> the </em><em> same </em><strongs number="4430">king</strongs><strongs number="3567">Cyrus</strongs><strongs number="7761">made</strongs>a <strongs number="2942">decree</strongs>to <strongs number="1124">build</strongs><strongs number="1836">this</strongs><strongs number="1005">house</strongs>of <strongs number="426">God</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'>And the <strongs number="3984">vessels</strongs><strongs number="638">also</strongs><strongs number="1768">of</strongs><strongs number="1722">gold</strongs>and <strongs number="3702">silver</strongs><strongs number="1768">of</strongs>the <strongs number="1005">house</strongs>of <strongs number="426">God</strongs>, <strongs number="1768">which</strongs><strongs number="5020">Nebuchadnezzar</strongs><strongs number="5312">took</strongs>out <strongs number="4481">of</strongs>the <strongs number="1965">temple</strongs><strongs number="1768">that</strongs><em> was </em>in <strongs number="3390">Jerusalem</strongs>, and <strongs number="2987">brought</strongs><strongs number="1994">them</strongs>into the <strongs number="1965">temple</strongs><strongs number="1768">of</strongs><strongs number="895">Babylon</strongs>, <strongs number="1994">those</strongs>did <strongs number="3567">Cyrus</strongs>the <strongs number="4430">king</strongs><strongs number="5312">take</strongs>out <strongs number="4481">of</strongs>the <strongs number="1965">temple</strongs><strongs number="1768">of</strongs><strongs number="895">Babylon</strongs>, and they were <strongs number="3052">delivered</strongs>unto <em> one </em>, whose <strongs number="8036">name</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="8340">Sheshbazzar</strongs>, <strongs number="1768">whom</strongs>he had <strongs number="7761">made</strongs><strongs number="6347">governor</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='15'>And <strongs number="560">said</strongs>unto him, <strongs number="5376">Take</strongs><strongs number="459">these</strongs><strongs number="3984">vessels</strongs>, <strongs number="236">go</strongs>, <strongs number="5182">carry</strongs><strongs number="1994">them</strongs>into the <strongs number="1965">temple</strongs><strongs number="1768">that</strongs><em> is </em>in <strongs number="3390">Jerusalem</strongs>, and let the <strongs number="1005">house</strongs>of <strongs number="426">God</strongs>be <strongs number="1124">built</strongs><strongs number="5922">in</strongs>his <strongs number="870">place</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'><strongs number="116">Then</strongs><strongs number="858">came</strongs>the <strongs number="1791">same</strongs><strongs number="8340">Sheshbazzar</strongs>, <em> and </em><strongs number="3052">laid</strongs>the <strongs number="787">foundation</strongs><strongs number="1768">of</strongs>the <strongs number="1005">house</strongs>of <strongs number="426">God</strongs><strongs number="1768">which</strongs><em> is </em>in <strongs number="3390">Jerusalem</strongs>: and <strongs number="4481">since</strongs>that <strongs number="116">time</strongs>even <strongs number="5705">until</strongs><strongs number="3705">now</strongs>hath it been in <strongs number="1124">building</strongs>, and <em> yet </em>it is <strongs number="3809">not</strongs><strongs number="8000">finished</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'><strongs number="3705">Now</strongs>therefore, <strongs number="2006">if</strongs><em> it </em><em> seem </em><strongs number="2869">good</strongs><strongs number="5922">to</strongs>the <strongs number="4430">king</strongs>, let there be search <strongs number="1240">made</strongs>in the <strongs number="4430">king</strongs>'s <strongs number="1596">treasure</strongs><strongs number="1005">house</strongs>, <strongs number="1768">which</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="8536">there</strongs>at <strongs number="895">Babylon</strongs>, <strongs number="2006">whether</strongs>it <strongs number="383">be</strongs><em> so </em>, <strongs number="1768">that</strongs>a <strongs number="2942">decree</strongs>was <strongs number="7761">made</strongs><strongs number="4481">of</strongs><strongs number="3567">Cyrus</strongs>the <strongs number="4430">king</strongs>to <strongs number="1124">build</strongs><strongs number="1791">this</strongs><strongs number="1005">house</strongs>of <strongs number="426">God</strongs>at <strongs number="3390">Jerusalem</strongs>, and let the <strongs number="4430">king</strongs><strongs number="7972">send</strongs>his <strongs number="7470">pleasure</strongs><strongs number="5922">to</strongs>us <strongs number="5922">concerning</strongs>this <strongs number="1836">matter</strongs>. </verse>
