      <verse number='1'><strongs number="310">After</strongs><strongs number="428">these</strongs><strongs number="1697">things</strongs>, and the <strongs number="571">establishment</strongs>thereof, <strongs number="5576">Sennacherib</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs>, and <strongs number="935">entered</strongs>into <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, and <strongs number="2583">encamped</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>the <strongs number="1219">fenced</strongs><strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">thought</strongs>to <strongs number="1234">win</strongs>them <strongs number="413">for</strongs>himself. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>And when <strongs number="3169">Hezekiah</strongs><strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="5576">Sennacherib</strongs>was <strongs number="935">come</strongs>, and that he was <strongs number="6440">purposed</strongs>to <strongs number="4421">fight</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs><strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='3'>He took <strongs number="3289">counsel</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>his <strongs number="8269">princes</strongs>and his mighty <strongs number="1368">men</strongs>to <strongs number="5640">stop</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4325">waters</strongs>of the <strongs number="5869">fountains</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs><em> were </em><strongs number="4480 2351">without</strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>: and they did <strongs number="5826">help</strongs>him. </verse>

      <verse number='10'><strongs number="3541">Thus</strongs><strongs number="559">saith</strongs><strongs number="5576">Sennacherib</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs>, <strongs number="5921 4100">Whereon</strongs>do <strongs number="859">ye</strongs><strongs number="982">trust</strongs>, that ye <strongs number="3427">abide</strongs>in the <strongs number="4692">siege</strongs>in <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='11'>Doth <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="3169">Hezekiah</strongs><strongs number="5496">persuade</strongs>you to give <strongs number="5414">over</strongs>yourselves to <strongs number="4191">die</strongs>by <strongs number="7458">famine</strongs>and by <strongs number="6772">thirst</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, The <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>our <strongs number="430">God</strongs>shall <strongs number="5337">deliver</strongs>us out of the <strongs number="4480 3709">hand</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='12'>Hath <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>the <strongs number="1931">same</strongs><strongs number="3169">Hezekiah</strongs>taken <strongs number="5493">away</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>his high <strongs number="1116">places</strongs>and his <strongs number="4196">altars</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">commanded</strongs><strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>and <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, Ye shall <strongs number="7812">worship</strongs><strongs number="6440">before</strongs><strongs number="259">one</strongs><strongs number="4196">altar</strongs>, and burn <strongs number="6999">incense</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>it? </verse>

      <verse number='15'><strongs number="6258">Now</strongs>therefore let <strongs number="408">not</strongs><strongs number="2396">Hezekiah</strongs><strongs number="5377">deceive</strongs>you, <strongs number="408">nor</strongs><strongs number="5496">persuade</strongs>you on this <strongs number="2063">manner</strongs>, <strongs number="408">neither</strongs>yet <strongs number="539">believe</strongs>him: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="3808 3605">no</strongs><strongs number="433">god</strongs>of <strongs number="3605">any</strongs><strongs number="1471">nation</strongs>or <strongs number="4467">kingdom</strongs>was <strongs number="3201">able</strongs>to <strongs number="5337">deliver</strongs>his <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>out of mine <strongs number="4480 3027">hand</strongs>, and out of the <strongs number="4480 3027">hand</strongs>of my <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>: how much <strongs number="637 3588">less</strongs>shall your <strongs number="430">God</strongs><strongs number="5337">deliver</strongs>you out of mine <strongs number="4480 3027">hand</strongs>? </verse>
      <verse number='16'>And his <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs><strongs number="1696">spoke</strongs><strongs number="5750">yet</strongs><em> more </em><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>, and <strongs number="5921">against</strongs>his <strongs number="5650">servant</strongs><strongs number="3169">Hezekiah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='17'>He <strongs number="3789">wrote</strongs>also <strongs number="5612">letters</strongs>to <strongs number="2778">rail</strongs>on the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, and to <strongs number="559">speak</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs>him, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, As the <strongs number="430">gods</strongs>of the <strongs number="1471">nations</strongs>of <em> other </em><strongs number="776">lands</strongs>have <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5337">delivered</strongs>their <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>out of mine <strongs number="4480 3027">hand</strongs>, <strongs number="3651">so</strongs>shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>the <strongs number="430">God</strongs>of <strongs number="3169">Hezekiah</strongs><strongs number="5337">deliver</strongs>his <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>out of mine <strongs number="4480 3027">hand</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>Then they <strongs number="7121">cried</strongs>with a <strongs number="1419">loud</strongs><strongs number="6963">voice</strongs>in the Jews' <strongs number="3066">speech</strongs><strongs number="5921">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>of <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><em> were </em><strongs number="5921">on</strongs>the <strongs number="2346">wall</strongs>, to <strongs number="3372">frighten</strongs>them, and to <strongs number="926">trouble</strongs>them; <strongs number="4616">that</strongs>they might <strongs number="3920">take</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='19'>And they <strongs number="1696">spoke</strongs><strongs number="413">against</strongs>the <strongs number="430">God</strongs>of <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, as <strongs number="5921">against</strongs>the <strongs number="430">gods</strongs>of the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs>of the <strongs number="776">earth</strongs>, <em> which </em><em> were </em>the <strongs number="4639">work</strongs>of the <strongs number="3027">hands</strongs>of <strongs number="120">man</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='20'>And <strongs number="5921">for</strongs><strongs number="2063">this</strongs><em> cause </em><strongs number="3169">Hezekiah</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, and the <strongs number="5030">prophet</strongs><strongs number="3470">Isaiah</strongs>the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="531">Amoz</strongs>, <strongs number="6419">prayed</strongs>and <strongs number="2199">cried</strongs>to <strongs number="8064">heaven</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='21'>And the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs>an <strongs number="4397">angel</strongs>, which cut <strongs number="3582">off</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>the mighty <strongs number="1368">men</strongs>of <strongs number="2428">valor</strongs>, and the <strongs number="5057">leaders</strongs>and <strongs number="8269">captains</strongs>in the <strongs number="4264">camp</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs>. So he <strongs number="7725">returned</strongs>with <strongs number="1322">shame</strongs>of <strongs number="6440">face</strongs>to his own <strongs number="776">land</strongs>. And when he was come <strongs number="935">into</strongs>the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of his <strongs number="430">god</strongs>, they that came <strongs number="4480 3329">forth</strongs>of his own <strongs number="4578">bowels</strongs><strongs number="5307">slew</strongs>him <strongs number="8033">there</strongs>with the <strongs number="2719">sword</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='22'>Thus the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="3467">saved</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3169">Hezekiah</strongs>and the <strongs number="3427">inhabitants</strongs>of <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>from the <strongs number="4480 3027">hand</strongs>of <strongs number="5576">Sennacherib</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="804">Assyria</strongs>, and from the <strongs number="4480 3027">hand</strongs>of <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><em> other </em>, and <strongs number="5095">guided</strongs>them on every <strongs number="4480 5439">side</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='23'>And <strongs number="7227">many</strongs><strongs number="935">brought</strongs><strongs number="4503">gifts</strongs>unto the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>to <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, and <strongs number="4030">presents</strongs>to <strongs number="3169">Hezekiah</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>: so that he was <strongs number="5375">magnified</strongs>in the <strongs number="5869">sight</strongs>of <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="1471">nations</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 310 3651">thenceforth</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='24'>In <strongs number="1992">those</strongs><strongs number="3117">days</strongs><strongs number="3169">Hezekiah</strongs>was <strongs number="2470">sick</strongs><strongs number="5704">to</strongs>the <strongs number="4191">death</strongs>, and <strongs number="6419">prayed</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>: and he <strongs number="559">spoke</strongs>unto him, and he <strongs number="5414">gave</strongs>him a <strongs number="4159">sign</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='25'>But <strongs number="3169">Hezekiah</strongs>rendered not <strongs number="7725 3808">again</strongs>according to the <strongs number="1576">benefit</strongs><em> done </em><strongs number="5921">unto</strongs>him; <strongs number="3588">for</strongs>his <strongs number="3820">heart</strongs>was lifted <strongs number="1361">up</strongs>: therefore there <strongs number="1961">was</strongs><strongs number="7110">wrath</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>him, and <strongs number="5921">upon</strongs><strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>and <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='26'>Notwithstanding <strongs number="3169">Hezekiah</strongs>humbled <strongs number="3665">himself</strongs>for the <strongs number="1363">pride</strongs>of his <strongs number="3820">heart</strongs>, <em> both </em><strongs number="1931">he</strongs>and the <strongs number="3427">inhabitants</strongs>of <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, so that the <strongs number="7110">wrath</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="5921">upon</strongs>them in the <strongs number="3117">days</strongs>of <strongs number="3169">Hezekiah</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='27'>And <strongs number="3169">Hezekiah</strongs><strongs number="1961">had</strongs><strongs number="3966">exceeding</strongs><strongs number="7235">much</strongs><strongs number="6239">riches</strongs>and <strongs number="3519">honor</strongs>: and he <strongs number="6213">made</strongs>himself <strongs number="214">treasuries</strongs>for <strongs number="3701">silver</strongs>, and for <strongs number="2091">gold</strongs>, and for <strongs number="3368">precious</strongs><strongs number="68">stones</strongs>, and for <strongs number="1314">spices</strongs>, and for <strongs number="4043">shields</strongs>, and for all <strongs number="3605">manner</strongs>of <strongs number="2532">pleasant</strongs><strongs number="3627">jewels</strongs>; </verse>
      <verse number='28'><strongs number="4543">Storehouses</strongs>also for the <strongs number="8393">increase</strongs>of <strongs number="1715">corn</strongs>, and <strongs number="8492">wine</strongs>, and <strongs number="3323">oil</strongs>; and <strongs number="723">stalls</strongs>for all <strongs number="3605">manner</strongs>of <strongs number="929 929">beasts</strongs>, and <strongs number="220">cotes</strongs>for <strongs number="5739">flocks</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='29'>Moreover he <strongs number="6213">provided</strongs>him <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>, and <strongs number="4735">possessions</strongs>of <strongs number="6629">flocks</strongs>and <strongs number="1241">herds</strongs>in <strongs number="7230">abundance</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="430">God</strongs>had <strongs number="5414">given</strongs>him <strongs number="7399">substance</strongs><strongs number="3966">very</strongs><strongs number="7227">much</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='30'>This <strongs number="1931">same</strongs><strongs number="3169">Hezekiah</strongs>also <strongs number="5640">stopped</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="5945">upper</strongs><strongs number="4161 4325">watercourse</strongs>of <strongs number="1521">Gihon</strongs>, and brought it <strongs number="3474">straight</strongs><strongs number="4295">down</strongs>to the west <strongs number="4628">side</strongs>of the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>of <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>. And <strongs number="3169">Hezekiah</strongs><strongs number="6743">prospered</strongs>in <strongs number="3605">all</strongs>his <strongs number="4639">works</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='31'><strongs number="3651">Howbeit</strongs>in <em> the </em><em> business </em><em> of </em>the <strongs number="3887">ambassadors</strongs>of the <strongs number="8269">princes</strongs>of <strongs number="894">Babylon</strongs>, who <strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="5921">unto</strongs>him to inquire <strongs number="1875">of</strongs>the <strongs number="4159">wonder</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><strongs number="1961">was</strongs><em> done </em>in the <strongs number="776">land</strongs>, <strongs number="430">God</strongs><strongs number="5800">left</strongs>him, to <strongs number="5254">try</strongs>him, that he might <strongs number="3045">know</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><em> that </em><em> was </em>in his <strongs number="3824">heart</strongs>. </verse>
