      <verse number='1'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, when <strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs>had <strongs number="3559">established</strongs>the <strongs number="4438">kingdom</strongs>, and had <strongs number="2394">strengthened</strongs>himself, he <strongs number="5800">forsook</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="8451">law</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>him. </verse>
      <verse number='2'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, <em> that </em>in the <strongs number="2549">fifth</strongs><strongs number="8141">year</strongs>of <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs><strongs number="7895">Shishak</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>came <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs><strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>they had <strongs number="4603">transgressed</strongs>against the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, </verse>
      <verse number='3'>With twelve <strongs number="505 3967">hundred</strongs><strongs number="7393">chariots</strongs>, and <strongs number="8346">threescore</strongs><strongs number="505">thousand</strongs><strongs number="6571">horsemen</strongs>: and the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs><em> were </em><strongs number="369">without</strongs><strongs number="4557">number</strongs><strongs number="834">that</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>him out of <strongs number="4480 4714">Egypt</strongs>; the <strongs number="3864">Lubims</strongs>, the <strongs number="5525">Sukkiims</strongs>, and the <strongs number="3569">Ethiopians</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='4'>And he <strongs number="3920">took</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4694">fenced</strongs><strongs number="5892">cities</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs><em> pertained </em>to <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, and <strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="5704">to</strongs><strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='5'>Then <strongs number="935">came</strongs><strongs number="8098">Shemaiah</strongs>the <strongs number="5030">prophet</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs>, and <em> to </em>the <strongs number="8269">princes</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, <strongs number="834">that</strongs>were gathered <strongs number="622">together</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>because <strongs number="4480 6440">of</strongs><strongs number="7895">Shishak</strongs>, and <strongs number="559">said</strongs>unto them, <strongs number="3541">Thus</strongs><strongs number="559">saith</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, <strongs number="859">Ye</strongs>have <strongs number="5800">forsaken</strongs>me, and therefore have <strongs number="589">I</strongs><strongs number="637">also</strongs><strongs number="5800">left</strongs>you in the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of <strongs number="7895">Shishak</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='6'>Whereupon the <strongs number="8269">princes</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>and the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>humbled <strongs number="3665">themselves</strongs>; and they <strongs number="559">said</strongs>, The <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><em> is </em><strongs number="6662">righteous</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='7'>And when the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>they humbled <strongs number="3665">themselves</strongs>, the <strongs number="1697">word</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="1961">came</strongs><strongs number="413">to</strongs><strongs number="8098">Shemaiah</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, They have humbled <strongs number="3665">themselves</strongs>; <em> therefore </em>I will <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="7843">destroy</strongs>them, but I will <strongs number="5414">grant</strongs>them <strongs number="4592">some</strongs><strongs number="6413">deliverance</strongs>; and my <strongs number="2534">wrath</strongs>shall <strongs number="3808">not</strongs>be poured <strongs number="5413">out</strongs>upon <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>by the <strongs number="3027">hand</strongs>of <strongs number="7895">Shishak</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='8'><strongs number="3588">Nevertheless</strongs>they shall <strongs number="1961">be</strongs>his <strongs number="5650">servants</strongs>; that they may <strongs number="3045">know</strongs>my <strongs number="5656">service</strongs>, and the <strongs number="5656">service</strongs>of the <strongs number="4467">kingdoms</strongs>of the <strongs number="776">countries</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='9'>So <strongs number="7895">Shishak</strongs><strongs number="4428">king</strongs>of <strongs number="4714">Egypt</strongs>came <strongs number="5927">up</strongs><strongs number="5921">against</strongs><strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, and took <strongs number="3947">away</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="214">treasures</strongs>of the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, and the <strongs number="214">treasures</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>'s <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>; he <strongs number="3947">took</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs>: he carried <strongs number="3947">away</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>also the <strongs number="4043">shields</strongs>of <strongs number="2091">gold</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs><strongs number="8010">Solomon</strongs>had <strongs number="6213">made</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='10'>Instead <strongs number="8478">of</strongs>which <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs><strongs number="6213">made</strongs><strongs number="4043">shields</strongs>of <strongs number="5178">brass</strongs>, and <strongs number="6485">committed</strongs><em> them </em><strongs number="5921">to</strongs>the <strongs number="3027">hands</strongs>of the <strongs number="8269">chief</strongs>of the <strongs number="7323">guard</strongs>, that <strongs number="8104">kept</strongs>the <strongs number="6607">entrance</strongs>of the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>'s <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='11'>And <strongs number="4480 1767">when</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>entered <strongs number="1961 935">into</strongs>the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>, the <strongs number="7323">guard</strongs><strongs number="935">came</strongs>and <strongs number="5375">fetched</strongs>them, and brought them <strongs number="7725">again</strongs><strongs number="413">into</strongs>the <strongs number="7323">guard</strongs><strongs number="8372">chamber</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='12'>And when he humbled <strongs number="3665">himself</strongs>, the <strongs number="639">wrath</strongs>of the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs><strongs number="7725">turned</strongs><strongs number="4480">from</strongs>him, that he would <strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="7843">destroy</strongs><em> him </em><strongs number="3617">altogether</strongs>: and <strongs number="1571">also</strongs>in <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="1697">things</strongs><strongs number="1961">went</strongs><strongs number="2896">well</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='13'>So <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs>strengthened <strongs number="2388">himself</strongs>in <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, and <strongs number="4427">reigned</strongs>: <strongs number="3588">for</strongs><strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="259">one</strongs>and <strongs number="705">forty</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs><strongs number="1121">old</strongs>when he began to <strongs number="4427">reign</strongs>, and he <strongs number="4427">reigned</strongs><strongs number="7651 6240">seventeen</strongs><strongs number="8141">years</strongs>in <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>, the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs><strongs number="834">which</strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>had <strongs number="977">chosen</strongs>out of <strongs number="4480 3605">all</strongs>the <strongs number="7626">tribes</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>, to <strongs number="7760">put</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>his <strongs number="8034">name</strongs><strongs number="8033">there</strongs>. And his <strongs number="517">mother</strongs>'s <strongs number="8034">name</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="5279">Naamah</strongs>an <strongs number="5984">Ammonitess</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='14'>And he <strongs number="6213">did</strongs><strongs number="7451">evil</strongs>, <strongs number="3588">because</strongs>he <strongs number="3559">prepared</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs>his <strongs number="3820">heart</strongs>to <strongs number="1875">seek</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="3068">LORD</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='15'>Now the <strongs number="1697">acts</strongs>of <strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs>, <strongs number="7223">first</strongs>and <strongs number="314">last</strongs>, <em> are </em><strongs number="1992">they</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="3789">written</strongs>in the <strongs number="1697">book</strongs>of <strongs number="8098">Shemaiah</strongs>the <strongs number="5030">prophet</strongs>, and of <strongs number="5714">Iddo</strongs>the <strongs number="2374">seer</strongs>concerning <strongs number="3187">genealogies</strongs>? And <em> there </em><em> were </em><strongs number="4421">wars</strongs>between <strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs>and <strongs number="3379">Jeroboam</strongs><strongs number="3605 3117">continually</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='16'>And <strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs><strongs number="7901">slept</strongs><strongs number="5973">with</strongs>his <strongs number="1">fathers</strongs>, and was <strongs number="6912">buried</strongs>in the <strongs number="5892">city</strongs>of <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>: and <strongs number="29">Abijah</strongs>his <strongs number="1121">son</strongs><strongs number="4427">reigned</strongs>in his <strongs number="8478">stead</strongs>. </verse>
