      <verse number='16'>So when <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="7200">saw</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="8085">hearkened</strongs><strongs number="3808">not</strongs><strongs number="413">unto</strongs>them, the <strongs number="5971">people</strongs><strongs number="7725 1697">answered</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs>the <strongs number="4428">king</strongs>, <strongs number="559">saying</strongs>, <strongs number="4100">What</strongs><strongs number="2506">portion</strongs>have we in <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>? <strongs number="3808">neither</strongs><em> have </em><em> we </em><strongs number="5159">inheritance</strongs>in the <strongs number="1121">son</strongs>of <strongs number="3448">Jesse</strongs>: to your <strongs number="168">tents</strongs>, O <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>: <strongs number="6258">now</strongs><strongs number="7200">see</strongs>to thine own <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>, <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>.       <verse number='17'>But <em> as </em><em> for </em>the <strongs number="1121">children</strongs>of <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>which <strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs>in the <strongs number="5892">cities</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs>, <strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs><strongs number="4427">reigned</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs>them. </verse>
      <verse number='18'>Then <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs><strongs number="7971">sent</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="151">Adoram</strongs>, <strongs number="834">who</strongs><em> was </em><strongs number="5921">over</strongs>the <strongs number="4522">tribute</strongs>; and <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="7275">stoned</strongs>him with <strongs number="68">stones</strongs>, that he <strongs number="4191">died</strongs>. Therefore <strongs number="4428">king</strongs><strongs number="7346">Rehoboam</strongs>made <strongs number="553">speed</strongs>to get him <strongs number="5927">up</strongs>to his <strongs number="4818">chariot</strongs>, to <strongs number="5127">flee</strongs>to <strongs number="3389">Jerusalem</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='19'>So <strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="6586">rebelled</strongs>against the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="1732">David</strongs><strongs number="5704">unto</strongs><strongs number="2088">this</strongs><strongs number="3117">day</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='20'>And it came to <strongs number="1961">pass</strongs>, when <strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs><strongs number="8085">heard</strongs><strongs number="3588">that</strongs><strongs number="3379">Jeroboam</strongs>was come <strongs number="7725">again</strongs>, that they <strongs number="7971">sent</strongs>and <strongs number="7121">called</strongs>him <strongs number="413">unto</strongs>the <strongs number="5712">congregation</strongs>, and made him <strongs number="4427 *853">king</strongs><strongs number="5921">over</strongs><strongs number="3605">all</strongs><strongs number="3478">Israel</strongs>: there <strongs number="1961">was</strongs><strongs number="3808">none</strongs>that <strongs number="310">followed</strongs>the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>, <strongs number="2108">but</strongs>the <strongs number="7626">tribe</strongs>of <strongs number="3063">Judah</strongs><strongs number="905">only</strongs>. </verse>

      <verse number='25'>Then <strongs number="3379">Jeroboam</strongs><strongs number="1129">built</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="7927">Shechem</strongs>in <strongs number="2022">mount</strongs><strongs number="669">Ephraim</strongs>, and <strongs number="3427">dwelt</strongs>therein; and went <strongs number="3318">out</strongs>from <strongs number="4480 8033">thence</strongs>, and <strongs number="1129">built</strongs><strongs number="*853"></strongs><strongs number="6439">Penuel</strongs>. </verse>
      <verse number='26'>And <strongs number="3379">Jeroboam</strongs><strongs number="559">said</strongs>in his <strongs number="3820">heart</strongs>, <strongs number="6258">Now</strongs>shall the <strongs number="4467">kingdom</strongs><strongs number="7725">return</strongs>to the <strongs number="1004">house</strongs>of <strongs number="1732">David</strongs>: </verse>
